Addressing a public gathering in Parbhani, Owaisi said, 'They (the
government) have the BSF and intelligence agencies, but still claim that Bangladeshis have reached here. No Bangladeshi will even dare to come to Parbhani.'
His comments come in response to repeated claims from BJP leaders that illegal immigrants from Bangladesh have infiltrated various parts of India, including Maharashtra.
Owaisi also raised alarm over Bangladesh's recent military posture, accusing the Modi government of complacency.
'Since Muhammad Yunus came to power in Bangladesh, they have started conducting military exercises with Pakistan,' he said. 'Bangladesh is now building an airbase near the India border, but the BJP is not worried about it.'
The Hyderabad MP's remarks stirred political chatter, as he linked regional geopolitics with national security, alleging that the government is focusing on divisive rhetoric rather than real threats.
Asaduddin Owaisi and his party, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), have been increasingly active in Maharashtra, often targeting both BJP and Congress on issues related to minority rights, governance, and national security.
There has been no official response yet from the BJP to Owaisi's statements.

Suma Uike, a changemaker from MP shines in ‘Mann Ki Baat'

In the 123rd episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again turned the national spotlight on the remarkable stories of everyday Indians whose determination and innovation are shaping a stronger, self-reliant India. This edition highlighted inspiring grassroots efforts from Madhya Pradesh, showcasing the state's growing contribution to the national development journey. One of the most notable mentions was Suma Uike from Balaghat district, a woman who rose to self-sufficiency through mushroom farming, animal husbandry, and community initiatives. PM Modi praised her transition from a self-help group member in Katangi block to an entrepreneur running a Didi Canteen and Thermal Therapy Centre. 'This is the glow of self-confidence, of self-reliance. Sumaji's journey is truly commendable,' said the Prime Minister, adding that her example embodies the spirit of New India—one where individuals uplift themselves and their communities through hard work and innovation. Over the years, Mann Ki Baat has regularly featured achievers from Madhya Pradesh. Notable among them is Bhuri Bai, a tribal artist from Jhabua, who was once a daily wage labourer. Her artistic journey led her to national acclaim and a Padma Shri award, bringing attention to the rich legacy of Bhil art. From Betul, government school teacher Sunil Jagirdar was lauded for transforming rural classrooms through digital learning innovations, helping bridge the urban-rural education divide. In Sehore, water conservationist Ramesh Sharma was recognised for reviving traditional ponds and promoting rainwater harvesting, helping farmers battle water scarcity. Meanwhile, tribal women-led self-help groups in Dindori earned praise for their organic farming and forest-based enterprises, which provided sustainable income and economic empowerment. Young minds from Bhopal also shone under the Atal Tinkering Lab initiative, developing smart irrigation systems and mobile health monitors, exemplifying the innovation potential of India's youth. Through Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi continues to highlight such success stories to reinforce the belief that building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat begins with empowering ordinary citizens—many of whom are creating extraordinary change in the heartland of Madhya Pradesh.

Desperate stunt: BJP, Congress slam Kejriwal over slum demolition protest

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress launched attacks on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, accusing him of hypocrisy and political theatrics over his protest at Jantar Mantar against slum to the Aam Aadmi Party's 'Ghar Rozgar Bachao Andolan', Delhi BJP president Virender Sachdeva called the campaign a 'desperate stunt' aimed at diverting attention from AAP's governance failures. 'Kejriwal owes the people an answer — how many houses has his government actually given to slum dwellers in the last 10 years?' he left the Narela flats in ruins because of his stubbornness. Today's event, held in the name of jhuggi residents, had no clear direction till 11 am It was purely political theatre,' Sachdeva added. Earlier, while addressing the protest at Jantar Mantar, Kejriwal accused Prime Minister Modi of breaking promises made to slum dwellers. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan', but what he meant was 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Maidan'. His promises are false, and I urge you not to fall for them in future,' the AAP chief also took a sharp personal swipe at the Prime Minister, calling him a 'liar' and urged slum dwellers not to vote for the BJP or Congress. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj echoed the attack, saying, 'If the BJP is hurt by the word 'jhootha', we'll call it 'asatya' instead — but the truth doesn't change.'advertisementHe alleged that the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi government had 'ruined' the city in just five months. 'We had left a perfectly fine Delhi. But these people have ruined it. There are long power cuts, school fees have been hiked, and their ministers and MLAs are busy looting Delhi,' he to Kejriwal' statements, Sachdeva accused him of trying to 'rewrite history' and claimed that it was BJP workers who stepped up during the Covid crisis. 'While BJP workers were arranging food and shelter for slum dwellers, the AAP government was trying to evict them. Now Kejriwal wants to act like their savior, the people of Delhi are not fool,' he BJP chief also condemned the language used by Kejriwal and senior AAP leader Gopal Rai against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'The kind of words they are using for the Prime Minister reflects their Naxalite mindset. No civil society can accept this kind of behavior. Delhi has already rejected this 'kattar beimaan' (hardcore dishonest) and chaos-spreading Kejriwal.'Sachdeva rejected the AAP's accusations of slum demolitions under the BJP and said it was, in fact, Kejriwal's government that failed to rehabilitate slum dwellers. 'If courts had not stepped in, the condition of these people would have been even worse today,' he said, asserting BJP's commitment to providing permanent housing under the 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan' the Congress also dismissed Kejriwal's protest as a show of 'crocodile tears' and questioned his credibility on the issue of slum dwellers. Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav posed ten pointed questions to Kejriwal via social media, highlighting AAP's own actions against slums during its the key questions, Yadav asked: 'Is it not true that in 2021, Kejriwal approved the 'Jhuggi Hatao' scheme as Chief Minister? Why is he now pretending to stand with slum dwellers?'He further alleged that former minister Satyendar Jain had announced the closure of the 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan' scheme in September 202. 'Now Kejriwal is shedding crocodile tears. Why?' Yadav Kejriwal's use of public funds, the Congress asked, 'Did Kejriwal not use the votes of slum dwellers to build his grand 'Sheesh Mahal'? Now that slum residents are becoming homeless, why is he protesting?'Yadav also slammed the AAP for failing to fight for slum dwellers in the Supreme Court and not passing any resolution in the Delhi Assembly to protect them. 'When Congress fought in the Supreme Court, where was the AAP? Under whose pressure was this silence?' he Congress accused Kejriwal of 'hypocrisy' and claimed that his tenure as Chief Minister contradicts his current stance as a supporter of the urban poor.- EndsMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Delhi#AAM AADMI PARTY#Bharatiya Janta Party#Indian National Congress

Don't Trust The Dragon: China's Games With India And Pakistan Exposed

Last Updated: From Galwan to Qingdao, New Delhi's message is clear: no compromise on terror, no blind trust in Beijing An expansionist, and an aggressor during the Galwan stand-off for four years. Then saying, let's be friends, opening the Kailash Mansarovar route after six years, and de-escalating on the border. But now, siding with Pakistan and trying to whitewash the Pahalgam terror attack. That is China, the dragon that clearly cannot be trusted. There is a brewing storm between India, China, and Pakistan— one that unfolded not on the battlefield, but at a conference table in Qingdao, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh refused to sign a key statement at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, or the SCO, because of no mention of the Pahalgam terror attack in it. While China and Pakistan teamed up trying to water down the language of the statement — India walked out. Singh gave a stark message to Chinese Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun later at bilateral meet — 'don't add new complexities in the relationship". The Galwan clash of 2020 still evokes strong emotions in India — the underlying message is don't trust the dragon, at least not blindly. One must remember — unlike QUAD and BRICS, the SCO is a multilateral block that India doesn't fully trust. It sees it more like a Pakistan and China club. Later this year, PM Narendra Modi is still expected to visit China for the annual SCO summit. India is playing a careful game. It hasn't quit SCO, but it's drawing clear red lines. CHINA'S GAMES India has taken special note of Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's three-day visit to China (May 19–21), shortly after Operation Sindoor. In talks with the Chinese side, Pakistan's focus was on strengthening strategic ties with China and extending CPEC into Afghanistan under the BRI framework — a cause for worry for India. In another diplomatic theatre, the BRICS, China is showing its true colours too. Chinese President Xi Jinping has dropped out of attending the BRICS Summit in Brazil in July, apparently because Brazil has invited PM Modi for a state dinner. Xi thought he would be upstaged by Modi, and the optics would mean Xi looking like a 'supporting actor' and not the central player, said a news report. Remember how China blocked Masood Azhar's terror designation in the UN. Pakistan used an array of Chinese-made weapons during the conflict with India – including J-10 fighters. China has promised to supply Pakistan with 40 more J-35 A jets and long-range air defense systems. Meanwhile, Modi-Xi ties have remained strained since the 2020 border clashes, despite a meeting in October 2024. So, should India trust China at all? Especially, when it tries to shifts focus to Balochistan and paint it as a victim of foreign sabotage. With its $62 billion CPEC project threatened by Baloch insurgency, Beijing is trying to internationalise Balochistan as a conflict zone—while sidestepping Uyghur repression and its own terror hypocrisy. MIXED SIGNALS Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong was in New Delhi earlier this month and finalised agreements with India to resume direct flights and hold functional talks on trade and rare earths —part of efforts to stabilise economic relations. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has also resumed with the first batch of Indian pilgrims already in Tibet. India has its own plans to develop capacity in rare earths that is making China nervous as well since it has a virtual global monopoly over the same. To sum it up, the Indo-China relationship is complicated where mistrust runs deep despite recent positives — Pakistan and terrorism is the elephant in the room.
