Court issues new orders against Liver King following release after Joe Rogan threats

Express Tribune26-06-2025
Brian Johnson, known as the "Liver King," has been released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond following his arrest on charges of making terroristic threats against podcaster Joe Rogan.
Johnson, 47, was arrested on June 24 in Austin, Texas, after police contacted Rogan, who expressed concern over Johnson's online posts, which he believed were threatening. Johnson's arrest took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, where he was booked for a terroristic threat causing fear of imminent bodily harm.
In addition to posting bond, Johnson is subject to a restraining order that requires him to stay at least 200 yards away from Rogan and his family members. The court also mandated that Johnson undergo a mental health evaluation within a week of his release (Travis County Court records).
Despite the legal trouble, Johnson resumed posting on Instagram, where he has 3 million followers, and continued to claim that he wanted to fight Rogan. In one video, Johnson said, 'We came here to pick a fight, and we're gonna do it,' further addressing Rogan with, 'I would love to man-to-man challenge you to a fucking fight. No one's going to die. But I hope we'll both get hurt.' Johnson even made a joke about his conflict being with actor Seth Rogen, while also revealing that he was wearing an ankle bracelet and had a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The situation stems from comments Rogan made on his podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' where he criticized Johnson's steroid use and mocked his 'ancestral diet.' Despite this, Rogan told the police he had never interacted with Johnson before, and it's unclear what motivated Johnson's public feud. Johnson's controversy further escalated with the release of Netflix's documentary, "Untold: The Liver King," which exposed his steroid use after promoting an all-natural, ancestral lifestyle online.

'KPop Demon Hunters 2' reportedly in development as Sony and Netflix negotiate sequel plans

KPop Demon Hunters has dominated Netflix for nearly two months, holding the number one spot worldwide and breaking streaming and music chart records. With such success, attention has now turned to a sequel, and major updates suggest KPop Demon Hunters 2 is already in motion. According to Puck, Sony Pictures Animation is in early talks with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans to develop KPop Demon Hunters 2. While Netflix distributes the film, Sony holds production rights, meaning the studio controls negotiations on whether the sequel moves forward. Despite the first film's global success, Sony reportedly earned only around $20 million due to its deal with Netflix, making the financial arrangements of a second instalment a key focus. The original film cost $100 million to produce, and a follow-up is expected to be even more expensive, considering cast, singers and licensing. Another update comes from the cast itself. Arden Cho, who voices Rumi, told Variety that she hopes the sequel will revisit Jinu, her character's love interest. In the first film, Jinu sacrificed himself to save Rumi and the world, though Cho hinted that his fate could be reimagined through the fantasy setting. While no release window has been confirmed, the lengthy animation process means fans may wait several years, similar to the gaps between Sony's Spider-Verse films.

The photo, shared on August 16, showed Jenner animatedly gesturing while speaking to Justin, who appeared puzzled by the conversation. Hailey quickly joined in on the fun, commenting: 'It's always Kendall telling a story with her hands.' Her lighthearted remark received over 110,000 likes, with Kendall later replying: 'God forbid I'm a visual storyteller.' The moment was one of several snapshots Justin posted from a night out at a Los Angeles dive bar with friends. He also shared a more affectionate image of himself with Hailey, who jokingly commented: 'Secrets out we're dating.' Hailey and Kendall's friendship spans more than a decade, and they often share memorable moments. They also recently joined Justin for a competitive paintball game, further cementing their long-standing bond. Meanwhile, Justin has balanced personal changes with professional success. His seventh studio album Swag, released in July, debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and reached #4 in the UK, marking a strong comeback with collaborations from Sexyy Red, 2 Chainz and Lil B.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return in ‘Nobody Wants This' Season 2

Netflix has confirmed that Nobody Wants This will return for Season 2 on Oct. 23, with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody reprising their roles as Joanne and Noah. Season 1 of the romantic comedy followed the unlikely relationship between Joanne, an outspoken podcaster, and Noah, a newly single rabbi. Their whirlwind romance captured audiences, earning both Bell and Brody Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics Choice nominations. Brody went on to win the Critics Choice Award. The upcoming season, created by Erin Foster and executive produced by her sister Sara Foster, will explore what happens when Joanne and Noah attempt to build a future together. 'It's such an interesting part of every relationship,' Foster told Tudum, adding that Season 2 will examine how couples navigate milestones, families, and day-to-day realities. Alongside Bell and Brody, returning cast members include Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, and Michael Hitchcock. New additions feature Gossip Girl alum Leighton Meester, who plays Joanne's middle school nemesis Abby, now a mommy influencer. Other newcomers include Miles Fowler (Bottoms), Alex Karpovsky (Girls), and Arian Moayed (Succession). Behind the scenes, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, both veterans of Girls, have joined as executive producers and showrunners. Foster said she is 'lucky to be able to continue this story' and praised the expanded creative team for keeping the heart of the series intact. Season 1 ended with Noah choosing Joanne despite their cultural and religious differences. Season 2 will pick up as the couple faces the realities of blending their lives, families, and futures. Nobody Wants This Season 2 premieres Oct. 23 on Netflix, with Season 1 available to stream now.
