Fans claim they know which job WNBA star Sophie Cunningham will take up next after viral video resurfaces online
Cunningham, who had 16 points and ten rebounds in Indiana's 99-82 win over the Atlanta Dream on Friday night, has had video resurface of her interview with Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal.
Video has re-surfaced from earlier this year when Cunningham - who was on the Phoenix Mercury at the time - interviewed Beal at the end of a game.
She had previously worked as a guest analyst for the Suns and appeared on the team's pre-game and post-game shows.
Cunningham graduated from the University of Missouri with a major in sports management - but also minored in communications at one of the top journalism schools in the nation.
She initially posted the interview with Beal, who was born and raised in St. Louis, and captioned it 'just two kids proudly reppin' MO @RealDealBeal23' - referring to Missouri's postal abbreviation.

After that interaction gathered traction again, fans reacted positively and praised her skills.
The video re-surfaced from a Caitlin Clark fan account, which captioned the clip, 'Sophie Cunningham the sportscaster -she can do whatever she wants when basketball is over. Very talented.'
Another account said, 'Sophie Cunningham was great here in Phoenix. Always had great takes, never had an agenda. SC will be a great journalist, analyst, sportscaster etc if that's what she chooses post basketball.'
'She is smart, quick witted, very beautiful and speaks well. I could see her with a permanant job as a Sportscaster or who knows maybe even better things,' one fan said.
Another post read, 'She really is multi-talented. And for critics who cite her modest ppg stats, they're missing the point. Her personality has enabled her to transcend the sport. She's the 'IT' girl of the WNBA. #AmericasGirlfriend.'
This isn't the most recent news-making Cunningham has done after she attracted some negative attention in the wake of the announcement that the WNBA was expanding.
In a video on X, she said: 'You want to listen to your players, too. Like where do they want to play? Where are they going to get excited to play and draw fans?
Cunningham recently got backlash for her digs at two recently announced expansion cities
Cunningham didn't seem happy that the league was expanding to Detroit and Cleveland
'I think Miami would have been a great one. Nashville is an amazing city. Kansas City, amazing opportunity. There's a huge arena downtown that nobody is using.'
'But man, I don't know how excited people are to be going to Detroit or [Cleveland].'
That reaction drew backlash from not only fans in the two Midwest cities - but from the actual city governments of both Detroit and Cleveland.

Cubs announce extension for baseball operations boss Jed Hoyer
July 29 - Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer entered 2025 without a contract beyond this season. But with the Cubs sharing the National League's best record with the Milwaukee Brewers entering Monday's play, Hoyer has been rewarded with a multiyear extension announced prior to the Cubs' series opener at Milwaukee. Hoyer was hired by Theo Epstein to serve as the team's general manager after the 2011 season. After the Cubs won the 2016 World Series and made five playoff appearances in a six-year stretch with the duo at the top of the organization, Hoyer was asked to assume Epstein's president of baseball operations responsibilities when Epstein left following the 2021 season. Hoyer signed a five-year contract at the time. Specifics on his extension were not released. "I'm so grateful for the Ricketts family's trust and support for 14 years," Hoyer said in a statement. "The Cubs are a special organization with an amazing fan base. I'm excited to keep building on the momentum we have and to work with a terrific baseball operations staff to consistently deliver a championship-caliber team for this great city." The Cubs failed to reach the playoffs and posted a 311-337 record (.480) in Hoyer's first four seasons at the helm. But with trade acquisitions such as All-Star outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker leading the way, the Cubs have fashioned a 62-43 record and sat atop the National League Central most of this season. The announcement of Hoyer's contract extension provides extra stability in the final days before Major League Baseball's trading deadline. If any rival general managers believed he might need to be more aggressive in order to keep his job -- and demand more in deals as a result -- then that bargaining angle has been quashed. --Field Level Media

Royals All-Star Kris Bubic (rotator cuff strain) done for season
July 29 - The Kansas City Royals announced left-hander Kris Bubic will miss the remainder of the season with a left rotator cuff strain. Bubic, an All-Star this season, walked the first four batters he faced on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians on just 21 pitches. He left the game with two outs in the third after giving up four runs and three hits. Bubic told reporters after the game that he had been pitching through shoulder soreness for much of the season. The 27-year-old veteran owned an 8-7 record with a career-best 2.55 ERA in 116 1/3 innings. He posted a 1.43 ERA during his first 12 starts through June 1, but a 4.61 ERA over his final eight starts. The Royals have dealt with several injuries to their starting rotation this season as left-hander Cole Ragans, right-hander Alec Marsh and right-hander Michael Lorenzen are all currently on the IL. The Royals called up righty Jonathan Bowlan and 45-year-old Rich Hill from Triple-A Omaha to help fill out the pitching staff. The Royals are 52-54 and sit four games back of the final wild card spot in the American League. --Field Level Media

Luka Doncic credits his new physique to nutrition and training
Lakers star Luka Doncic has unveiled a significantly more muscular physique, which he attributes to an intense training and diet regimen during the off-season. His transformation was showcased in a Men's Health cover story, where he discussed his commitment to a gluten-free, low-sugar diet and two daily workouts. Fans have reacted enthusiastically to Doncic's new look, widely dubbing it a 'revenge body' following his trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers in February. The trade, which saw Anthony Davis move to the Mavericks, reportedly stemmed from concerns within the Mavericks organization about Doncic's weight and conditioning. Despite fan backlash, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison defended his decision to trade Doncic, stating he had 'no regrets' and that the move was in the team's best interest.
