Broncos WR Troy Franklin changes jersey number ahead of second NFL season
Number news!
Denver Broncos second-year wide receiver Troy Franklin shared a photo on his Instagram story on Wednesday that showed his locker with jersey No. 11, a change from the No. 16 he wore as a rookie last season.

Franklin wore No. 11 at Oregon -- where he played with quarterback Bo Nix -- but when he was drafted by the Broncos last April, that number was already held by veteran receiver Josh Reynolds. The number is now available following Reynolds' departure.
Franklin, 22, hauled in 28 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns last fall. Now entering his second year in the league, he'll aim to build on those totals in 2025.
Elsewhere on the number front, free agent additions including tight end Evan Engram (No. 1), wide receiver Trent Sherfield (No. 5), safety Talanoa Hufanga (No. 9) and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (No. 57) have already picked their numbers. Engram will become the first tight end in the NFL's modern era to wear No. 1.

The roster on the team's official website does not yet list numbers for linebacker K.J. Cloyd, quarterback Sam Ehlinger, punter Matt Haack or offensive lineman Will Sherman.

Angel Reese Sends Clear Message After Chicago Sky's Blowout Loss to Indiana Fever
Angel Reese Sends Clear Message After Chicago Sky's Blowout Loss to Indiana Fever originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Angel Reese is not losing confidence despite the Chicago Sky's struggles this 2025 WNBA season. She made that abundantly clear on Sunday, a day after their loss to the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever. Advertisement The 23-year-old Reese struggled mightily on the offensive end against the Fever, scoring just four points on 2-of-7 shooting as Chicago was blown out, 79-52. Reese did grab 12 rebounds and dish out two assists, but her efforts were simply not enough. The Sky played poorly as a team, with no Chicago player scoring in double digits. Their best scorers were Rebecca Allen and Kamilla Cardoso, who had eight points each. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) looks on during a Lee-Imagn Images The Sky dropped to a 2-5 record as a result, and there's no end in sight for their on-court troubles — especially after the season-ending injury to starting point guard Courtney Vandersloot. Advertisement Despite her offensive woes and the issues the Sky are facing, though, Reese is not letting the problems bother her and affect her mentally. On Instagram, she posted a series of photos of her pregame outfit for the Fever showdown with a strong and clear message. "I AM EXACTLY WHO I THINK I AM," Reese wrote. Angel Reese's latest Instagram post a day after the Chicago Sky's loss to the Indiana Reese/Instagram In the seven games the Sky have played so far, Angel Reese averaged 9.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. While her assist numbers are up by a bit, her scoring and rebounding are down, all while shooting an abysmal 30.9% from the field. Last season, Reese put up 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds while shooting 39.1% overall. Advertisement Sure enough, the Sky will need Reese to recapture her old form and play more efficiently if they want to turn things around quickly. The good news is Reese has the right mindset despite their poor start to the campaign. Angel Reese Grabs Attention for Her Outfit Before Chicago Sky Game
Angel Reese Grabs Attention for Her Outfit Before Chicago Sky Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky may be struggling, but Angel Reese is not letting it stop her from making a statement off the court. Advertisement Chicago has already lost five of its seven games so far this 2025 WNBA season. The team has one of the worst offenses in the league, ranking 12th (out of 13 teams) in points per game with 77.4 and 11th in field goal percentage with 39.9. Their only wins so far have come against the Dallas Wings, a team that has only won one game this campaign. Entering Tuesday's game against the New York Liberty, the Sky are not expected to win at all. In fact, ESPN's Matchup Predictor gave them just a 12.1% chance to emerge victorious. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) looks on during a Krzaczynski-Imagn Images While the odds are stacked against them, it doesn't look like Reese and the rest of the team are bothered or discouraged. That much is clear as the team arrived at Barclays Center in style, showing their own fashion sense. Advertisement Reese, for her part, turned a lot of heads as usual with her business-yet-stylish attire. The WNBA All-Star was seen wearing a black oversized blazer that covered what appeared to be a black dress. The 23-year-old embellished it with a long pearl strand necklace, while also wearing sheer stockings and black pointy stilettos to complete her ensemble. Sure enough, fans loved Reese's attire and took to the comment section to heap praise on her overall look. "Queen Barbie let's go Angel," a commenter wrote on Instagram. Another one said, "They all so pretty, Angel facecard is insane." "Becca and Hailey are giving casual calm and Angel is giving Vogue with a mixture of Old Hollywood," a fan remarked. Advertisement A supporter added, "Barbie is giving Rich Girl Vibes." "Ok sportswomen of the year #ar5," a follower shared, referring to Reese's recent win as Sportswoman of the Year at the 2025 BET Awards. A sixth social media user posted, "Love you Angel! I don't care @angelreese5 what they say!! You are that Barbie." Angel Reese's First Post After Chicago Sky's Blowout Loss on Tuesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered their sixth loss of the season, bowing to the New York Liberty in blowout fashion, 85-66. Advertisement Reese had a historic performance for Chicago. She recorded her 30th career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, making her the fastest player to reach the mark. It took her only 42 games to achieve the double-double feat, surpassing Tina Charles' record of 47 games. Despite her efforts, though, the Sky never led in the contest and even trailed by as many as 34 points. Only Reese and Ariel Atkins (11 points) scored in double figures for Chicago, while New York saw Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and Kennedy Burke score in double digits and combine for 56 points. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) reacts during a Jones-Imagn Images Following the ugly loss, Reese didn't seem bothered by their struggles this 2025 season. While she admitted in her postgame presser that they need to improve defensively if they want to turn things around, her first social media post shows that she's not letting the on-court stuff affect her off it. Advertisement On her Instagram Stories, Reese shared a post from the LSU Tigers, her college team, celebrating her win as the Sportswoman of the Year from the BET Awards. While the Sky forward didn't write a caption, it's clear she's appreciative of the recognition. She also liked the post from LSU. Chicago Sky star Angel Reese shares LSU's post about her BET Awards Reese/Instagram Angel Reese has now won the said Sportswoman award for the third straight year, so it's not surprising why she's ecstatic about it. She beat fellow nominees such as A'ja Wilson, Claressa Shields, Coco Gauff, Dawn Staley, Flau'jae Johnson, Juju Watkins, Sha'Carri Richardson and Simone Biles for the honor. As for her WNBA season, Reese and the Sky fell to 2-6 following their latest loss. They will face the Atlanta Dream next on Friday.
