
Cops refer child's alleged killing of kittens to veterinary services dept
PETALING JAYA : Police have referred the alleged killing of two kittens by a child at a flat in Ampang, Selangor, to the veterinary services department.
Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail confirmed that four police reports had been lodged over the incident last month, and said policemen were sent to visit the scene.
He said the case was later referred to the department's Hulu Langat chapter.
'No investigation paper was opened since the case had been referred to the department,' he said in a statement.
CCTV footage, which went viral, showed a child purportedly taking two kittens from a cage at the fifth floor of the flat. The animals were later found dead on the fourth floor.

KOTA BAHRU, Aug 11 — Four people, including two children, were killed and another was seriously injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a trailer lorry on Jalan Utama, Felda Chiku 1 in Gus Musang this morning. BANDAR PERMAISURI, Aug 11 — A 12-year-old girl with health issues has been reported missing after failing to return home for a day in Perumahan Kos Rendah Sungai Tong. Setiu police chief Supt Mohd Zain Mat Dris said Adriana Batrisya Mohd Ridzuan, who suffers from stomach problems, left the house on Saturday afternoon. When her family could not locate her, her father lodged a report at the Sungai Tong Police Station yesterday afternoon. 'Preliminary investigations reveal Adriana had dropped out of school in Year Four due to her health condition. Since then, she has been staying at home with her mother, father, and eight-year-old brother. 'She had no close friends, but is believed to have befriended a young man through TikTok,' he said in a statement. Kelantan JPJ seizes 13 luxury cars worth nearly RM5mil

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The Kelantan road transport department (JPJ) has seized 13 luxury vehicles worth nearly RM5 million during a statewide operation conducted since July 1. Kelantan JPJ director Misuari Abdullah said the operation, which targeted imported and luxury vehicles, was conducted to ensure adherence to road transport laws. He said the main offences included expired motor vehicle licences, no insurance coverage, driving without a licence, and document falsification. 'There are luxury car owners who go as far as using fake registration numbers to avoid detection, as well as cases of luxury vehicles being driven by foreigners without valid driving licences,' Bernama quoted him as saying today. He said the makes of the seized vehicles included the Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Alphard, BMW 523i, Ford Mustang Fastback, Mercedes E250 CGI, and Nissan GTR. Misuari said Kelantan JPJ recorded 10,233 offences involving expired licences, 8,432 cases of no insurance coverage, and 11,004 cases of driving without a licence from January to July.
