Coming in tenth, JB said that the Toyota gives drivers a "Mazda-style go-karty feel but in a coupe body shell".
It's actually one of the slower cars on the list, with a 0-60mph time of 7.4 seconds but is more than nifty enough to provide plenty of fun.
Insurance and running costs tend to be cheap and handling very stable, making it an ideal first sports car for aspiring motors nuts.

Porsche Boxster 987
From something that looks like a Porsche, to an actual Porsche, the 987 is some of the best of what the German giant has to offer.
An out-and-out fast sports car for its era, the 987 S can make 0-60 in just 5.2 seconds.
However, they are a little on the pricier side, with more basic examples still clocking in at around £7,400.

It also offers versatility, with the car as comfortable on a track as it is cruising down the motorway.

BMW M135i
12
BMW M135i
Speaking of German giants, BMW has dominated the sport coupe market with its M series, and the 135i is no exception.
Even quicker than the Porsche despite its greater weight, it is tuned up with Beemer's top-line hardware.
The only issue is that most are automatic, which doesn't quite give drivers the control and road sense that many look for in performance cars.
Nonetheless, at just £6,500 for a decent example, they aren't the most expensive item either.
Audi S5
12
AUDI S5
It's the Audi S5 that tops the list, with JB saying: "The A5 is one of the most beautiful modern designs on any Audi.
"It won a bunch of design awards for it troubles.
"The 4.2-litre V8 is known to be very reliable...which is a massive positive."
It comes joint quickest with the BMW, but JB gave it the edge as a "fast, useful and good looking daily driver."
The S5 is also a fair bit cheaper, starting at just £4,800.
Mercedes SL500
12
Mercedes Benz SL 500

German reliability and plenty of performance are the essence of this beloved convertible.
Mercedes dropped in a chunky 5-litre V8 to carry its sleek frame, generating a sturdy 320 horsepower.
This gives the SL500 an impressive 0-60 of 6.3 seconds, while the handling remains smooth without being overly sanitised.
Older models can be found for around £5,000 but a little more will get you one in better nick.
Mazda 3 MPS

On the Mazda, JB said: "I think the Mazda 3 MPS is one of the most underrated hot hatches on the market.
"For a sensible hot hatch enjoyer it's an excellent car."
It's quicker even than the Merc too with a 5.9 second 0-60.
They retail online for around £5,000 at the bottom end.

World's biggest airport with 185million passengers to open by 2030 – and could have direct UK flights

CONSTRUCTION has begun on what will be the biggest airport in the world. King Salman International Airport in Saudi Arabia is set to open in 2030, and will be the size of 14,000 football fields. 5 The airport will have six runways and be the biggest in the world Credit: Foster + Partners 5 It will have plenty of space to relax before a flight - and lots of shops Credit: Foster + Partners The mega-sized airport will be built around the existing King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The extension was was first announced in November 2022 and when finished the huge airport will be 57 square kilometers. Of that, 12 square kilometers will be reserved for shopping. Currently, the King Khalid International Airport has two parallel runways. Read More on Holidays OFF TRACK Five stunning European holidays that are cheaper than a UK train fare With the new extension, this will be increased to six and will see 120 million passengers by 2030. By 2050, the amount of passengers will increase to 185 million. With the opening of the airport, the number of aircraft takeoffs and landings in Saudi Arabia will go from 211,000 per year to over one million. The estimated cost of the project currently stands at $30 billion (£22.5 billion). In January 2025, the terminal overhaul at King Khalid International Airport was completed - bringing the extension closer to completion. The revamped terminal features new facilities, including 38 check-in counters, 10 self-service kiosks, 26 passport control counters, and 10 automated gates. Inside Saudi Arabia's plan for £3.8bn seaside resort built on blood as vid shows work underway for Dubai-style hotspot Terminal 1 now also has 24 boarding gates, 40 passport control counters in the arrivals area, and 11 self-service gates. The airport is being designed by the British architecture firm Foster + Partners. The company is behind other projects like Battersea Roof Gardens, Wembley Stadium, and will be designing the national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II. In May of this year, two US based firms, Bechtel and Parsons were awarded key contracts for the expansion, according to ENR. It will have plenty of seating, indoor and outside places with lots of greenery and huge glass windows for plane watching. The airport design has been specially-made to create a "seamless customer journey", revealed in a statement from the Saudi Press Agency. 5 It will be in a loop design to create a seamless passenger journey Credit: Foster + Partners 5 The renders show lots of open green spaces around the airport Credit: Foster + Partners Currently, Brits can fly directly from London to Riyadh Airport with an average flight time being six hours and 42 minutes. It wouldn't be surprising if these continue, or even if the number of flights increase to the city as a result of the new airport opening. The airport expansion forms part of the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to transform the country. Qiddiya, an entertainment city, is also in the plans and it is currently scheduled to open later this year. It will have a Six Flags theme park, and enormous waterpark with submersible cars and four record-breaking rides - including the world's tallest water coaster. For thrill-seekers, it will have the largest drop body slide, the tallest water slide and the longest mat racer too. This mega £2.7billion airport reveals 24-hour terminal that will 'rival London's Heathrow' with UK flights. Plus, the abandoned UK airport will reopen its doors after a decade in £500m revamp – and could offer Ryanair & easyJet flights.

Data from Warranty Solutions Group has backed up Scotty's claims as it put RAV4 at the top of their reliability list. The study showed that only 9.68% of RAV4 owners had made car insurance claims. Shipshape Cork city renovation floated at €350k

AT this time of the year, it's not unusual to see properties coming up for sale in the University College Cork (UCC) area that have been bought and renovated by parents for use by their student offspring. What's remarkable about this one, No 30 Wycherley Place, off College Road, is the transformation. Corner-set Peninsula House When Stephen Clarke, of REA O'Donoghue & Clarke, sold this end-of-terrace property to the owners for their daughter in 2019, it was a drab, run-down ex-rental with two bedrooms, 59 sq m of living space, and a low BER. The interior now is almost totally unrecognisable. New to the market for €350,00, it's smart, stylish, and full of character, with three bedrooms, 84 sq m of accommodation, and a C3 BER. Renamed Peninsula House, it has higher ceilings than before and has been fitted with a modern kitchen and bathroom, laminate flooring, and a new staircase. The additional bedroom on the upper floor has a small balcony, a feature that is almost unheard of in this type of property. Bunk in 'The three of us — my husband, my daughter, and myself — spent a year doing it up and put our heart and soul in to it,' says the student's mother, explaining that her husband is a carpenter and did a lot of the work. They started by gutting the inside, taking down walls and ceilings, and removing plasterwork. 'All that was left was four walls, the double-glazed windows, which were put in previously.' Small ground-floor rooms have now been replaced with an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room with laminate flooring, grey and white shaker-style units, and a higher ceiling. 'When we removed the plaster, we found a section with London red-stock bricks of the type that were used for ballast by ships in the 19th century and were able to use this as a feature,' says the owner. Deep blue yonder They added to the character by exposing and painting a stone wall on the other side of the room and fitting reclaimed timber doors, which they sourced on DoneDeal, refurbished and fitted with latched handles. Giving a smart makeover to the shower room at the rear, they tiled it in blue, put in contemporary fittings, and added a skylight. The yard was converted into a WC and a high-ceilinged utility room that has modern appliances, as well as a Victorian-style pulley system for drying clothes. The replacement staircase has rope bannisters of the type you see on ships and all three bedrooms have laminate flooring and exposed ceiling beams. 'To improve the energy efficiency, we put in internal insulation,' says the owner, adding that they also fitted a stove and installed energy-efficient electric radiators. 'We gave it its name because it sits, like a peninsula, on the corner between Wycherley Terrace and Wycherley Place and we were told by neighbours that a previous owner spent so much time looking out from it that she became known as Mrs Peninsula, ' the owner says. Shipshape Such was the high level of interest in the property — which is located within a five-minute walk of UCC — that Mr Clarke scheduled two open viewings at Peninsula House during the week. 'We are definitely going to get a lot of students' parents looking at it,' he says, adding that the renting of a room or two could be an option for these types of buyers. He also expects interest from college staff and investors. The Property Price Register shows 30 Wycherley Place selling for €135,000 in 2019. VERDICT: Reinvented with skill and imagination.
