BAFTA and Tony award winning actress 'thrilled' to bring play to York
A BAFTA and Tony award winning actress is bringing a one-woman play to York.
Killing Eve star Jodie Comer will be performing Suzie Miller's award-winning Prima Facie to the Grand Opera House York from February 17 to 21, 2026.
Tickets for the production, which Suzie Miller won an Olivier Award for best play, goes on sale at midday on Tuesday 25 March 2025.
Jodie won the Olivier Award when she made her theatrical debut in the production at The Harold Pinter Theatre in London and then won the Tony Award when the play transferred to Broadway.
"It is a huge privilege to return to Prima Facie for one last time and take this important play on tour across the UK & Ireland," Jodie said.

Playing the role of a young barrister called Tessa, an unexpected event forces her to confront the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and her own morals.
Suzie Miller added: "I couldn't be more thrilled about the Prima Facie 2026 tour; this play has already achieved more than we all could have dreamed, and Jodie's commitment to the story reaching so many new venues and communities means more people can be part of the conversation, and the solution."

Grand Opera House staff to swap stage for river in dragon boat race
Theatre staff in York are swapping the stage for the river with a charity dragon boat race. Grand Opera House staff will compete in the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge on the River Ouse on Saturday, July 13. Kat Moir, theatre manager and team captain, said: "He's behind you! "That's what we want to be hearing on Sunday, July 13 when our dragon boat is soaring ahead!" The team will race in support of men's mental health charity Menfulness. Jack Woodhams, CEO of Menfulness, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have our friends and long-standing supporters at the Grand Opera House join us as charity partner for the Dragon Boat Race. "Every penny raised will go directly towards our support activities and free counselling services." The Grand Opera House team's theme for the event will be Cinderella, in a nod to an upcoming production in December, and their team name will be "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boat." Donations can be made at
