The TMP is an important ally of the BJP-led coalition government in the northeastern state.
The latest development comes more than a year after a tripartite agreement was signed in New Delhi between the TMP, the Tripura government and the Centre to resolve all issues of the
indigenous people of Tripura
.

The Tipra Motha Party (TMP) signed the Tiprasa Accord with the Centre and the state government in March 2024 for the overall development of the indigenous people of the state.
The TMP, which was formerly the main opposition party in Tripura, joined the BJP-led government ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Tipra Motha has 13 MLAs in the 60-member assembly and got two ministerial berths.
Even if the TMP withdraws support, the BJP-led government would remain in power as it has 33 MLAs in the 60-member House. Besides, it has the backing of an IPFT legislator.
On the allegation of non-implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, even one year after it was signed, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Saha said that he is in constant touch with TMP supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma.
"The process is on to implement the Tiprasa Accord linked to the development of the indigenous people of the northeastern state," the chief minister said.
Responding to the party MLA's statement, the TMP supremo on Saturday said, "I don't know about the statement made by our MLA Ranjit Debbarma, but I will surely talk to him. Today, I had a conversation with Chief Minister Manik Saha, and I told him that it has been 18 months since the Tiprasa Accord was signed.
"If MLA Debbarma spoke about withdrawing support from the government, it would be out of frustration because a sense of genuine frustration and insecurity is prevailing in the rural areas," he stated.

Can't allow weaponisation of critical minerals: PM Modi at Brics

PM Modi at Brics NEW DELHI: Brics countries should work to make supply chains for critical minerals and technology secure and reliable, so that no country can use these resources for its own "selfish gain or as a weapon" against others, said PM Narendra Modi at the Rio summit. The remarks are significant as they come at a time the global community is grappling with China's dominance of critical minerals. Quad recently announced a critical minerals initiative to secure and diversify supply chains to prevent any economic coercion or price manipulation. Modi was speaking in the presence of Premier Li Qiang who represented China at the summit in the absence of President Xi Jinping . In April this year, amid a raging trade war with the US, China suspended export of some rare earth minerals sparking global concerns about its impact on advanced technology and security industries. The call for ensuring secure and reliable supply chains was one of the suggestions the PM made at the Brics session on strengthening multilateralism, economic issues and AI to turn the grouping into a guide for the multipolar world in the future. He said Brics' diversity and multipolarity is its greatest strength. Strengthening internal systems like the Brics New Development Bank (NDB) that would lend more credibility to the call for reformed multilateralism, collaboration in agricultural research for the benefit of Global South, creation of a Brics Science and Research Repository, and ensuring responsible AI were some of the other suggestions made by Modi in his address. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Why seniors are rushing to get this Internet box – here's why! "Global standards must be created that can verify the authenticity of digital content, so that we can identify the source of the content and maintain transparency and prevent misuse," said Modi, adding that India will organise an AI Impact Summit next year for improved cooperation between all countries. Modi said at a time when the global community faced uncertainty and challenges, the relevance of Brics was evident. "Global South has many hopes from us. To fulfil them, we must follow the principle of 'Lead by Example'. India is fully committed to working shoulder-to-shoulder with all our partners to achieve our common goals," Modi said. Addressing another session on climate, Modi said that under India's Brics presidency next year, the Indian govt will work to define Brics in a new form. "Brics will mean - Building Resilience and Innovation for Cooperation and Sustainability," he said, adding that for India, climate justice is no alternative but a moral duty. He underscored India's position that without tech transfer and affordable financing for countries in need, climate action will remain confined merely to climate talks.

'Evil personified': Melinda French Gates' old interview on Epstein viral as DOJ, FBI close case

Melinda Gates said Bill Gates' association with Jeffrey Epstein was one of the reasons behind their divorce. The old video of Melinda French Gates from 2022 in which Melinda called Jeffrey Epstein 'evil personified' went viral Monday after the US administration brought the curtains down on the Epstein case. In the interview, Melinda blamed Bill Gates' relationship with convicted pedophile Epstein as one of the reasons for their divorce. Melinda revealed in the CBS interview that she had met Epstein once, as she wanted to see who this person was. "And I regretted it the second I stepped in the door. He (Epstein) was abhorrent. He was evil personified. I had nightmares about it afterwards, so my heart breaks for these young women," Melinda said adding that she made it clear to Bill that she did not like Epstein and his association with Epstein at all. — JDunlap1974 (@JDunlap1974) Melinda wrote about this experience in her memoir "The Next Day" that in 2019, NYT published a deeply disturbing article suggesting that Bill Gates had not only betrayed the marriage but also Melinda's values. NYT also reported that Epstein threatened to expose Bill's alleged affair with Russian bridge player Mila Antonova in 2017, after Bill declined to join Epstein's multi-billion-dollar charitable fund with JPMorgan Chase. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo But Bill Gates was not accused of any sex offence and also expressed regret for his association with Epstein. "In retrospect, I was foolish to spend any time with him. I think I was quite stupid. I thought it would help me with global health philanthropy. In fact, it failed to do that. It was just a huge mistake," Bill Gates said. Bill and Melinda finalized their divorce in August 2021 after 27 years of their marriage. While Americans expected many more big names to come out of the stacks of files and documents and the exact nature of their relationship with Epstein, the FBI and the Department of Justice issued a joint an unsigned memo announcing that there was no incriminating Epstein client list. The investigation also concluded that Epstein died by suicide and was not murdered in jail. MAGA activists had a major meltdown over the announcement and they called it a cover-up.

Greater Bengaluru blueprint ready, to be tabled in next cabinet meeting: Deputy CM

Bengaluru: A roadmap for the development of Greater Bengaluru is nearing completion and will be placed before the cabinet in its next meeting, deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said Monday. "We are in the process of finalising it (development of Greater Bengaluru)," Shivakumar told reporters, signalling a major push in the govt's urban governance overhaul. The move follows chief minister Siddaramaiah's May announcement that Greater Bengaluru Governance Act will be implemented and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be replaced with Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) — a new administrative body. On May 25, Shivakumar had also declared that BBMP's re-division process would be completed by Sept 15, paving the way for the formation of GBA. The team met with officials from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to discuss urban planning strategies, waste management systems, and construction by-laws. "Delhi is a very historic, big and planned city," Shivakumar said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 息を呑むようなファンタジーの世界に足を踏み入れ、かつてないほどゲームを制覇しましょう レイドシャドウレジェンド 今すぐインストール Undo "The population is double that of Bengaluru. There are three challenges in Delhi: Town planning, waste management, and the construction by-laws. Though I visited Hyderabad and Chennai as well, it was very important to know about new policies in Delhi." He stressed the importance of long-term vision and planning for Bengaluru's future. "If a city is not planned, it cannot work... I had brief meetings, and they gave a presentation on new laws and their plans for the next 25-30 years," he said. Meanwhile, Shivakumar said he will travel to New Delhi Tuesday to secure central clearance for forest land acquisition for the Yettinahole drinking water project. The govt is yet to acquire 428 acres of forest land in Hassan and Tumkuru districts. Shivakumar will meet Jal Shakti minister CR Patil and Union environment minister Bhupendra Yadav and discuss the issue with them. Shivakuamar insisted his visit has nothing to do with politics, but he did not rule out meeting Congress brass. "Party office is like a temple for us. I make it a point to visit," he said.
