Kaizer Chiefs star grabs his second chance, set for big reward!

Kaizer Chiefs are ready to shuffle their pack ahead of the 2025/26 season with incomings and outgoings.

Although they won the Nedbank Cup, Chiefs still failed to finish the season in the top eight positions.
Chiefs had a season of contrasts
That contrasting season will also see three types of actions being taken by Chiefs ahead of the next campaign. They will try and sign players in order to be competitive in the league and local cups. They will also look to those new additions to boost their CAF Confederation Cup charge. Secondly, there will be players who will be deemed surplus to requirements and those who will be retained.
Three players released so far
Chiefs have already released three players so far, Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom and Ranga Chivaviro. While many more are set to follow, one player that seems to not be on that list is Sibongiseni Mthethwa. The defensive midfielder had a mixed season in the past campaign under Nasreddine Nabi. Upon the Tunisian's arrival, he seemed not to be in the plans and wanted to offload him. But an improved second half of the season saw him become more involved.
Mthethwa was also solid for Chiefs in their run to the Nedbank Cup win. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, he is set to be rewarded with a new contract.

Mthethwa set for new deal
'The club has already taken the initiative to keep the midfielder (Mthethwa) for two more years. The talks are believed to have started before the end of the season. But apparently things are looking good. It will all now depend on what both parties are looking at. But the talks are open,'
Well deserved?

Kaizer Chiefs news: Another Congolese attacker

In the past three seasons, Kaizer Chiefs have signed two attacking players from the Democratic Republic of Congo. It started with the striker/winger Christian Saile, and then in January by the lanky winger Glody Lilepo. According to this new report, Kaizer Chiefs now have eyes on a Congolese attacking midfielder named Maxi Ngenzeli from Young Africans in Tanzania. Ngenzeli will not be new to coach Nasreddine Nabi. The Tunisian mentor fine-tuned the goal-scoring midfielder in the 2021/22 season at Yanga. New Orlando Pirates winger: 'I can attack and I can defend' 'At the moment the club has not yet signed some of the players who they want nor those they are looking at,' an insider told Soccer Laduma . 'It's believed that they are spreading the search wide so that they can get the kind of players they really need this season. 'Apparently, Maxwell Nzengeli is one player they are also looking at. Coach Nabi knows him already, and the scouts and recruiters are also believed to have liked him and are looking at the possibility of getting him, depending on the conditions around the transfer. Two PSL clubs in for Sundowns outcast 'The players are expected to return to the club for pre-season training at the end of the month so that they can prepare for the trip to Holland and the team is working hard to have new signings available for the European trip. 'So it's believed that by the first week of July, most of the new signings will be unveiled,' the source added. Bafana B striker Radiopane urges attackers to be ruthless against Comoros

South Africa striker Boitumelo Radiopane is urging attackers to be decisive in front of goal when they take on Comoros in their Cosafa Cup semifinal clash at Free State Stadium on Friday (6pm). Bafana finished top of Group A but the Orlando Pirates attacker said they missed a lot of opportunities but he is confident they have learnt from those moments and ready to deliver against Comoros. 'We tried every day to finish the chances we get in training because that is where the work starts,' he said. 'I am happy with the group of players I'm surrounded with because we all want to reach the same goal, which is to win, and to do that we have to score as many goals as we can. 'All I can say regarding our decision-making in front of the goals is we need to be calm and not be selfish. If I'm not in a good position to score, I have to give it to the next player who is in the better position and to win the game for us. 'The only way to reward our defence is to score for them because they are doing everything well and everything they can for the opposition not to strike at us.' Radiopane said the mood in the South African camp is a mix of calm confidence and quiet determination.

Chiefs news: Two-year extension given, starlet pushes for exit

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly offered veteran midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa a two-year extension, keeping him at the club until 2028. 'The club has already taken the initiative to keep the midfielder for two more years,' a source said. 'The talks are believed to have started before the end of the season. But apparently things are looking good. It will all now depend on what both parties are looking at. But the talks are open.' Another source reaffirmed Chiefs' desire, saying, 'Yes, he didn't start well under coach Nasreddine Nabi. We think he didn't understand him. But now they [Kaizer Chiefs] are happy with him and that's why they are offering him a two-year deal.' 'If all goes well and they agree on new terms it will start from next year until June 2028.' Remaining in Chiefs' midfielding department, youngster Samkelo Zwane, who struggled for minutes last season amassing just thirteen appearances, is being linked with a loan move for the next campaign in a bid to play regular first team football. Zwane's agents are said to be holding talks with Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi over the 23-year-old's future, however, an inside source has disputed this, saying, 'I don't know about any AmaZulu interest but the boy needs game time. The way I see it right now is that he is going nowhere, as things stand,' a source close to the player told this publication.
