The Rolling Stones Chart A Top 10 Single, 60 Years Into The Band's Career

The Rolling Stones' 'Angry' returns to the U.K. top 10 on two charts, nearly matching its peak and ... More proving the band's sales power hasn't faded. More than 60 years after The Rolling Stones started releasing music, the legendary rock band is still churning out hits. The group remains on the charts in the United Kingdom, where it first broke through all those decades ago. This week, it doesn't just find space on some rankings, the rockers claim a top 10 smash, showing that even after all this time, there's still plenty of life left in one of the most iconic rock outfits of all time.
The Rolling Stones score a top 10 win in their home country yet again this frame, and the rock outfit does so in more than one place. The group's single 'Angry' is back inside the highest tier on two U.K.-based rankings, both of which focus exclusively on sales.
This week, 'Angry' leaps from No. 15 to No. 5 on the Official Physical Singles chart. That cut also rockets from No. 13 to the same position on the Official Vinyl Singles ranking.
'Angry' isn't unfamiliar with the upper reaches of either the Official Physical Singles or Official Vinyl Singles charts. In fact, the tune has previously conquered both tallies. While it's not at No. 1 this week, it's nearing that position again, and it could possibly reclaim the throne soon if sales remain steady – or even improve.
Both of the lists reflect pure sales, though with slightly different focuses. The Official Physical Singles chart includes all forms of physical sales — CDs, vinyl, and cassettes — while the Official Vinyl Singles ranking only counts purchases made on vinyl formats.
While 'Angry' ranks in the same spot on both charts at the moment – and it's reached the same peak position – its history on each isn't exactly identical. On the Official Vinyl Singles list, the track has now racked up 32 weeks. Its performance is even more impressive on the Official Physical Singles chart, where it has held on for 54 frames.
At the moment, 'Angry' stands as The Rolling Stones' only hit single in the United Kingdom. The rock legends don't claim any other charting songs this week, but the band is present elsewhere.
Over on the Official Albums Streaming chart, The Rolling Stones hold firm with the fan-favorite compilation Forty Licks. The decades-spanning collection moves up four spaces, climbing from No. 82 to No. 78 on the streaming-only tally.
'Angry' was released in September 2023 as the lead single from Hackney Diamonds, The Rolling Stones' first album of brand new material in nearly two decades. The track marked a thrilling comeback for the band and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Song, while the full-length won Best Rock Album.

Adam Carolla claims staff on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' was 'real scared' of 'mean' host

Carolla recalled his experience from when he was a guest on the talk show in 2012. Adam Carolla is not a fan of Ellen DeGeneres. The comedian gave his account of being a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2012 on a recent episode of the After Party with Emily Jashinsky podcast. "When you do [Jay] Leno, Leno was fun and breezy and easy and people were nice, and they were kind of laid back, and they weren't looking over their shoulder at all," he said of the former host of The Tonight Show. He added that his own former cohost on The Man Show, Jimmy Kimmel, also had a set that was "nice and people are nice." He didn't say the same about DeGeneres, who came up when the host mentioned DeGeneres having relocated to the U.K. following the election of President Donald Trump last year. Carolla claims DeGeneres had "always been a mean person," which he said he'd realized during his time working with the staff on the popular series that ran from 2003 to 2022. "People were scared, real scared," he said. "And I knew they were scared, because I was just sitting in my dressing room and their segment producer came in and he went, 'All right, so we went over all the stuff we're going to talk about' — Christmas vacation or whatever it was." Even after Carolla assured him that he would stick to the pre-planned topics during his conversation with DeGeneres, the employee wasn't satisfied. "And he goes, 'You're not going to talk about meat or beef or anything like that, right?' And I go, 'No, I'm not. I'm just going to talk about the stuff we talked about,'" Carolla recalled. As Carolla told it, the conversation didn't end there. "He came back like 20 minutes later, right before I went out, and he's like, 'OK, but don't talk about beef or meat,'" Carolla said. "And I was like, 'Oh, this guy's scared to death. This guy's scared.'" Later on, Carolla said he learned from one of the show's writers — an employee he didn't identify, because he'd signed a non-disclosure agreement — his hunch had been right. The writer claimed that DeGeneres was the "worst person I've ever met." EW has reached out to reps for DeGeneres for claims follow the allegations of a toxic workplace that DeGeneres faced beginning in 2020. Former staffers said they had been told to avoid speaking to her or even looking her in the eyes and accused producers of racism and intimidation. DeGeneres herself addressed the outcry, including in September's Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, which was billed as her final standup special. "I got kicked out of show business because I'm mean," DeGeneres said onstage. "Yeah, you all heard I was mean. Everybody heard that I was mean. Everywhere I go, I know everyone's heard that I'm mean. I know when I walk into a restaurant, people are watching, waiting to see if I'll be mean. 'Do you think she'll be mean first and then dance? Oh, look, she's reaching for butter. I thought she was going to hit somebody.'" Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly Solve the daily Crossword

How Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise's ‘Working Relationship' Turned to ‘Flirty Attraction'

THE RUNDOWN Rumors that Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas might be dating swirled for months after they were seen together in London and then on a yacht off the coast of Spain. Sources maintained that the pair were simply working on various projects together, but at the end of July they were photographed holding hands. A source speaking to Entertainment Tonight this week says that there was truth to the story that Cruise and de Armas shared a 'working relationship,' however 'their connection grew stronger.' 'Over time, it became clear that what they have goes beyond just friendship or a working relationship,' the source explained, saying they were working on projects together, especially the upcoming thriller, Deeper. Spending time together led to something more. 'Tom thinks she's incredibly smart and beautiful. Ana has always enjoyed their time together and the flirty attraction between them,' the insider added. Other sources have hinted at a deepening relationship leading up to their hand holding reveal. On May 14, a source told Us Weekly that Cruise was 'super smitten' with de Armas and had 'developed' feelings for her. 'They've gone out on some dates, and it's very low-key,' the source claimed. 'It's in the early stages, and he's been courting her.' A source told People on July 18 that de Armas was single, though it had been rumored that she was dating Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba's president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. That same day, another insider described de Armas's connection with Cruise. '[They] have a special work relationship,' the source said. 'Tom is crazy hardworking, and she's very excited to work with him. She calls it an opportunity of a lifetime.' The source added that as she has been preparing for Deeper, Cruise has been 'an incredible mentor to Ana. She has nothing but amazing things to say about him.'

Kristin Davis reveals ‘Melrose Place' co-star wouldn't speak to her on set during filming

Kristin Davis revealed that one of her 'Melrose Place' co-stars gave her the cold shoulder during the time they worked together on the hit '90s prime-time soap drama. During a recent appearance on 'Hey Dude… The '90s Called!' podcast, the 60-year-old actress recalled that she 'felt like I won the lottery' when she landed the role of the villainous Brooke Armstrong in the third season of 'Melrose Place' from 1995 to 1996. However, the 'Sex and the City' star told hosts Christine Taylor and David Lascher 'there was never a moment of feeling confident' on the set of the Aaron Spelling-created series, and one cast member in particular was not very friendly to her. 'There were just so many, so many people [on set],' Davis said. 'And I felt and I have obviously seen all these people since then, and so many of them are so lovely. But at the time … it was competitive.' 'I had my friends within, like Marcia Cross and I were were close, which was wonderful,' she continued. 'But there was one, you know, she wouldn't speak to me. Like, she wouldn't speak to me. 'I never had scenes with her, so it wasn't an issue. But I say, like, 'Good morning,' [and she wouldn't respond].' Taylor noted she also had similar experiences with co-stars, especially during that 'period of time' in which she recalled actors were wary of 'anybody who could potentially threaten your job.' 4 Kristin Davis appeared as a guest on the 'Hey Dude… The '90s Called!' podcast. Hey Dude… The 90s Called! / YouTube 'We've all been on sets where we've had that experience where it was like, 'Oh, I don't think that they love that I'm here, but I'm only here for like a guest star [role] or whatever, right?'' she said. The 'Zoolander' star continued, 'And sometimes they weren't the nicest on certain sets and other times wonderful, but I feel like it was a period of time. And then, I guarantee you now, 30 years out of it everyone looks back and is like, 'Oh my God, what an idiot I was.'' Davis explained she had 'seen this person,' who she did not name, since that time. 'She's very nice to me now,' Davis said. 'And sometimes I'm like, 'Does she remember that she was being not that nice to me?'' 4 Davis did not identify the person who allegedly wouldn't speak to her on set. Hey Dude… The 90s Called! / YouTube Davis said she took the opposite approach when she starred on 'Sex and the City,' describing herself as the 'welcoming committee' when new actors joined the cast or made guest appearances. 'I tried to get out there quick and be like, 'Hi,' because I remember that horrible feeling,' Davis recalled. 'It was scary.' Despite her negative experience with one co-star, Davis shared that it was 'amazing' to be part of 'Melrose Place,' though she was disappointed that her stint on the show was short. 'Melrose was intimidating in, you know, so many ways, obviously,' Davis said. 'I mean, I grew up … watching all the 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty' and blah blah blah.' 4 Season 4 of 'Melrose Place' aired from 1995 to 1996. ©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection 'So, it meant a lot to me to be on there,' she added. 'Obviously, it was just a job also. Like, at a certain point, you're like, 'I have won the lottery. Like, I have a job. I cannot believe it.' 'You know, it's amazing, right, from a young actor perspective,' she added. 'And, I mean, as far as I know, I was gonna stay there. Like, I didn't know that I was only gonna be one season, which I believe was 32 episodes, which is insane to think about now.' Davis' character was killed off in the episode 'Devil in a Wet Dress' after she drowned in the Melrose Place pool after falling and hitting her head. During a February interview with People magazine, Davis revealed that she beat Hilary Swank for the role of Brooke in 'Melrose Place.' 'It was Hilary Swank, myself and a girl named Meredith,' Davis recalled of the final auditions for the part. Davis told the outlet she had been worried about her 'very, very long hair' at the time since the other actresses on the show had shorter hair. She recalled that she considered cutting her hair but decided against it. 4 Davis attends the 'And Just Like That ' season three photocall in Paris on May 29, 2025. 'And I remember Hilary came out, and she seemed so young, and she had kind of shorter hair and kind of sporty. And I was like, 'Uh-oh,'' she continued. 'And then Meredith had longer hair also. I was like, 'Oh, good.'' Davis recalled that she and Meredith comforted Swank, who told them, 'I totally blew it,' after leaving the audition room. 'Obviously, she goes on to win two Oscars,' Davis said of Swank with a laugh. 'She did fine. She did fine.'
