And SunSport can reveal that London rivals Arsenal are among those lining up a move for Nkunku.
The Gunners are desperate to boost their firepower and Mikel Arteta sees the 27-year-old as a good option to add to his squad.
But five other clubs are heavily in the race to secure Nkunku's services.
Manchester United, who made a move for the player during the January transfer window, are planning to go back this summer.

Ruben Amorim is a huge admirer of the player, and believes his Premier League experience makes him a superb option for his Old Trafford rebuild.
Liverpool also like Nkunku due to his versatility and previous goal record at Leipzig, where he netted 58 goals in his final two seasons.
And West Ham, who will undergo a major rebuild, are plotting an ambitious raid of their own after ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter identified Nkunku as a star target.
But there's also strong interest from overseas, with Champions League finalists' Paris St Germain among those to be monitoring developments.

They are believed to big admirers of Nkunku and think he could be a perfect addition to the stunning playing style Luis Enrique has created.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in the player, with uncertainty over the future of Liverpool-linked ex-Man City forward Julian Alvarez.

If Alvarez does go, then Nkunku is seen as the first option for a replacement.
The Frenchman has endured a frustrating season for Chelsea and is fully expected to push for a move away.
Just seven of his 22 starts this term have come in the league, with Nkunku instead a regular in the Conference League and domestic cups.
He's thought to prefer the idea of a move to a club in the Champions League, which would make Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris St Germain and Atletico Madrid the leading contenders.
Chelsea would prefer to see the player move abroad as, despite his limited playing time, boss Enzo Maresca knows Nkunku has a lot of ability and knows selling him to a rival club could be risky.

Chelsea sign Strasbourg defender Mamadou Sarr on eight-year deal

The France Under-19 international played 27 times in Ligue 1 last season, his first full campaign in the top flight, as they – managed by Liam Rosenior – finished seventh to qualify for the Conference League. Strasbourg are owned by Chelsea's parent company BlueCo, with Sarr to become the latest player to have spent time at both clubs. Welcome to Chelsea, Mamadou Sarr! 🔵 — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 9, 2025 Central defence is considered a priority for strengthening this summer after a season in which injuries badly disrupted that area of the pitch. First-choice Wesley Fofana made only 14 appearances in the Premier League last term and his availability prospects are a concern, the former Leicester defender having been fit to play just 29 times in the league in the three seasons since he moved to Stamford Bridge. At 19, Sarr is unlikely to be put straight into the team, meaning at present, Enzo Maresca's side are dependent on Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile as their fit senior central defenders ahead of the Club World Cup.

Trailblazer Uriah Rennie remembered as a ‘special person' and ‘true gentleman'

The trailblazing official was born in Jamaica before moving to Sheffield aged six with his family and went on to oversee more than 300 games between 1997 and 2008, including 175 in the English top flight. Once labelled the 'fittest' match official in world football, Rennie recently revealed he was learning to walk again after a rare neurological condition left him paralysed from the waist down. His death was announced on Sunday and Chris Foy, a fellow former Premier League referee, paid an emotional tribute to his ex-colleague in an interview with talkSPORT on Monday morning. 'He was a gentleman, a gentle giant,' Foy said. 'He was a friend to me, a mentor to me, he was just a special person who put everybody first before himself. 'He was a real presence on the field and he was a real presence off the field, a true gentleman. He had a great personality. It was the things off the field that made him special. The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Uriah Rennie. As the first black referee in the Premier League, Uriah was a pioneering trailblazer whose legacy will live on, continuing to inspire future generations. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. — Premier League (@premierleague) June 9, 2025 'I remember one Christmas time, we were at training camp and he had organised for us to go into a special education needs school in Daventry. We spent some time with the children in that school. 'That was the mark of the man, off the field he was just special, he was a great communicator and a real people person.' Rennie started refereeing locally in 1979 before making history in 1997 when taking charge of his first Premier League match between Derby and Wimbledon. Vinnie Jones was among those booked. Rennie became a FIFA-listed referee in 2000 and joined the select group of professionals one year later before retiring in 2008. 'If it was difficult for him, he never showed it because he was always grounded. He loved refereeing,' Foy said. In November 2023 martial arts expert Rennie was awarded an honorary doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University for his distinguished contributions to sport and his work with South Yorkshire communities. Incredibly sad to hear of the passing of referee Uriah Rennie. A pioneer, trailblazer and a bloody good ref. Rest in peace, Ref. — Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) June 8, 2025 He was last month installed as the chancellor of the university and was described by Foy as a 'real community hero in that part of the world'. Foy added: 'Away from football, he always had an escape from refereeing because of the other things he did in his life. He loved his community and charity work. He loved other sports, which we used to talk about fondly. 'We used to talk all the time. We only exchanged text messages on Friday. It's tough at the minute.' 'Uriah played a massive role in shaping the game as we know it today. Football should always be grateful to him.'
