And SunSport can reveal that London rivals Arsenal are among those lining up a move for Nkunku.
The Gunners are desperate to boost their firepower and Mikel Arteta sees the 27-year-old as a good option to add to his squad.
But five other clubs are heavily in the race to secure Nkunku's services.
Manchester United, who made a move for the player during the January transfer window, are planning to go back this summer.

Ruben Amorim is a huge admirer of the player, and believes his Premier League experience makes him a superb option for his Old Trafford rebuild.
Liverpool also like Nkunku due to his versatility and previous goal record at Leipzig, where he netted 58 goals in his final two seasons.
And West Ham, who will undergo a major rebuild, are plotting an ambitious raid of their own after ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter identified Nkunku as a star target.
But there's also strong interest from overseas, with Champions League finalists' Paris St Germain among those to be monitoring developments.

They are believed to big admirers of Nkunku and think he could be a perfect addition to the stunning playing style Luis Enrique has created.
Atletico Madrid are also interested in the player, with uncertainty over the future of Liverpool-linked ex-Man City forward Julian Alvarez.

If Alvarez does go, then Nkunku is seen as the first option for a replacement.
The Frenchman has endured a frustrating season for Chelsea and is fully expected to push for a move away.
Just seven of his 22 starts this term have come in the league, with Nkunku instead a regular in the Conference League and domestic cups.
He's thought to prefer the idea of a move to a club in the Champions League, which would make Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris St Germain and Atletico Madrid the leading contenders.
Chelsea would prefer to see the player move abroad as, despite his limited playing time, boss Enzo Maresca knows Nkunku has a lot of ability and knows selling him to a rival club could be risky.

Report and ratings as Hibs surrender two-goal lead to Killie at Easter Road
Two points dropped. A two-goal lead surrendered. And an unusually error-strewn performance from a Hibs side who had looked so brilliant in Belgrade and dominant in Dundee. The boos that rang out at full-time after this 2-2 draw at Easter Road were aimed not at David Gray's men, but a refereeing team who had angered some of the locals … because that's what officials do. Ultimately, this was just an unsatisfying experience for fans who had experienced – either in person or via the small screen – such European highs on Thursday night. On a day when Scotland defender Grant Hanley made his debut, Rocky Bushiri rose to power home a thumping header with 20 minutes on the clock. Elie Youan then netted his first goal since December 21 – in his first start since Boxing Day – just six minutes later, before embarking on some truly joyous celebrations. Complete with audience involvement. Liam Polworth gave Kilmarnock a lifeline that they barely deserved with a goal just before half-time before Ben Brannan's early Goal of the Season contender made it 2-2 early in the second half. And, in truth, either side might have won a game notable for some erratic defending, to say the least. In a home side showing three changes from their midweek heroics in the Balkans, with Hanley, Junior Hoilett and Youn dropping into the starting XI in place of Jack Iredale, Chris Cadden and Boyle, there was no early hint of disruption to Hibernian's rhythm. A couple of shaky moments defensively, perhaps, but a general air of control about the opening exchanges. It certainly came as no surprise when they took the lead. Nor was it a shock to find both Jamie McGrath and big-moment specialist Bushiri combining. From a free-kick won by Jordan Obita's adventure down the left, McGrath simply drilled the ball hard – and we do mean hard – across the six-yard box at a height of about seven-and-a-half feet. Bushiri met it with his forehead at the back post, sending his effort screaming past a despairing Max Stryjek. Youan made it 2-0 a little over five minutes later, the Frenchman taking a sublime through ball from Hoilett in his stride and beating Stryjek despite the goalie getting a touch on the ball. Hibs were now in firm control of the contest. And looking for more goals. But Bushiri was too easily beaten by Marcus Dackers out on the wing, the centre-half having ceded possession initially with a surging run and inaccurate pass, allowing the Killie No. 9 to cut the ball back for Polworth. His sliding effort went in despite Jordan Obita's best efforts on the goal line. Dackers missed a glorious chance just 30 seconds into the second half, heading over from all of five yards under little pressure. But the equaliser wasn't long in coming. Hibs actually cleared their lines pretty well from a corner kick. They just couldn't account for Brannan scoring an absolute worldie, smashing a right-footed volley from well outside the box and justifiably celebrating with gusto after the ball arced over and beyond Jordan Smith to hit the far top corner. Both teams had chances as the game entered its decisive phase, with a couple of miskicks from goalie Smith almost gifting Killie a goal, while Josh Mulligan made the wrong choice on a three-man counter with Dylan Levitt and substitute Martin Boyle. Mulligan's hard running and Boyle's nose for goal added something. But Hibs never really managed to click. And had to satisfy themselves with a single point when three had been within their grasp. 1 . GK Jordan Smith 5/10 Call it an off day. Or a complete footballing breakdown. Not that he could do anything about either Killie goal. But back passes caused the undisputed Hibs No. 1 no end of stress and strife. | SNS Group Photo Sales 2 . RCB Warren O'Hora 6/10 Had to be alert to cope with the threat of Dackers. Useful in keeping the ball moving along the back line as Hibs switched play. Probably just the best of a back three who looked extremely rattled in second half, especially. | SNS Group Photo Sales 3 . CB Rocky Bushiri 6/10 Never dull. Second goal of the season, just four games into the new campaign, offset slightly by his role in Killie's counter strike moments before the half-time break. Involved in a couple of genuinely hairy moments. | Getty Images Photo Sales 4 . LCB Grant Hanley 6/10 Vastly experienced Scotland centre half made his SPFL debut with a start on the left of the back three. Replaced by Iredale just before the hour mark, having looked OK. | SNS Group Photo Sales

Chelsea 4 AC Milan 1: Pedro and Delap both score after Italian defender's own goal and red card horror show
The new signings are shining at Chelsea Del delight Chelsea 4 AC Milan 1: Pedro and Delap both score after Italian defender's own goal and red card horror show Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CHELSEA showed that pre-season might be merely a formality as they rolled over AC Milan by four goals to one, lifting the coveted VisitMalta Weekender trophy for the second time in three days. The Blues have made two supposedly decent teams look like amateurs, in what were hardly tough tests for Enzo Maresca's young team before playing Crystal Palace in the opening game of their season. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Joao Pedro was on target again to cement his place in the Chelsea XI Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 2 But he has Liam Delap breathing down his neck after a brace against AC Milan Credit: AFP New signing Jamie Gittens announced himself to the world against AC Milan for Borussia Dortmund two seasons ago, who may well be his favourite opponents as he gave their defence, Yunus Musah in particular, a torrid time today. The electric Englishman was perhaps overshadowed by Estevao against Bayer Leverkusen, but put in a performance today that showed he could nutmeg a mermaid in a telephone box if ever put to the test. It was his direct running and trickery that won the free-kick for Chelsea to open the scoring through an Andrei Coubis own goal on the stroke of the 5th minute, after a calamitous mix-up between the Italian and Mike Maignan in the Milan goal. Moments later and Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto combined for the Brazilian to head home his fifth goal in five games. A driving run from Neto down the right was followed by an inch perfect cross, met by a header that could've ripped a hole in the net to add Chelsea's second in as many minutes. He's proving exceptional value for his £60m fee. The Blues continued to dominate until the half-time whistle, helped out on the way by Milan defender Andrei Coubis' afternoon going from bad to worse with a straight red card for bringing down Joao Pedro who was through on goal. The Italian booted a water bottle as he stormed down the tunnel, and rightly so, you may not see a worse 17 minutes at Stamford Bridge this season than that. Cole Palmer went close twice from first-half free-kicks, one that left the post rattling and another which left former Chelsea target Mike Maignan being ridiculed as a 's*** Robert Sanchez'. The Blues' number ten almost went on to recreate Gus Poyet's famous 1999 'scissor volley' minutes later, but his effort just sailed over the bar. Unsurprisingly, it was Rafael Leao who lead the AC Milan charge. He was denied by Robert Sanchez, Tosin and Reece James before finally beating the Spanish stopper, only to see the offside flag raised on the near side. Half-time brought the introduction of six-time Champions League winner, Ballon D'or winner and Swansea part-owner Luka Modric into the middle for Milan. The Croatian was left chasing the shadows of Chelsea's young and energetic midfield throughout the second half, his only highlight being a tame shot claimed by Robert Sanchez. After the disastrous news that future captain Levi Colwill required surgery on an ACL injury, Enzo Maresca will have winced as Trevoh Chalobah was forced off with a knock in the 56th minute and replaced by Josh Acheampong, Milan grew into the game in the second half, and simply had to score when Yunus Musah rolled the ball past Robert Sanchez before Reece James arrived on the scene to put that fire out. Expectedly, a flurry of Chelsea changes came with 30 minutes to go, and unsurprisingly it was teenage prodigy Estevao replacing Cole Palmer that drew the biggest cheer at Stamford Bridge. It took the 18-year-old exactly five minutes to be involved in another Chelsea goal, as he was brought down inside the box, allowing Delap to rifle a penalty into the bottom left corner. The rest of his touches brought an expectant gasp out of everyone in the stadium, as he danced and dazzled with fancy footwork in front of the Matthew Harding stand. AC Milan got a consolation goal, courtesy of Youssaf Fofana who smashed the ball past Robert Sanchez at the near post with 20 minutes to go, assisted by Alexis Saelemaekers. Just when fans thought that would be game, set, and match, Chelsea added a fourth and final goal. Andrey Santos' perfectly weighted ball into the path of Liam Delap allowed the English striker to make it a brace with a fine finish into the bottom left corner.

The potential deal with Arsenal was an estimated £45m. The Nigerian has seemingly found himself in between a rock and a hard place after he has allegedly not attended training over the last few days. It is no secret that Lookman wants to join Champions League runners-up Inter for the 2025/26 season, after the player reportedly made a personal agreement with the Nerazzurri. Atalanta has turned down two offers for the international forward. Despite the Atalanta talisman making his hopes known, he holds a lot of value for the Juric-led squad. He then went numerous loan spells back to Everton, then Fulham and also Leicester. After returning from loan from Leicester, he was then signed by Atalanta. To continue their aggressive recruitment drive this transfer window, Arsenal had hoped to capitalise on Lookman's unsettled situation at Atalanta. After failing to tempt the forward, the Gunners have turned their attention elsewhere. Gunners are reportedly on the verge of making a bid for Eberechi Eze, with Fabio Vieira expected to leave for Stuttgart. In other news, Arsenal are said to be waiting to see if Real Madrid will allow Rodrygo out on loan.
