Roman Reigns WWE return: 'OTC' to replace controversial star in Money in the Bank match and teach Seth Rollins a lesson?

Time of India2 days ago

Roman Reigns WWE return: The Money in the Bank Premium Live Event (PLE) is almost upon us. The show will be held in Inglewood on June 7. It will feature the titular match in which six men from Raw and SmackDown will lock horns to secure the coveted briefcase that guarantees them the right to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship or the Undisputed Championship at a time and place of their choosing. The participants are LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, El Grande Americano, Andrade, Seth Rollins, and Penta. One of these stars, however, may not make it to the match if Roman Reigns has his way.
Roman Reigns to give Seth Rollins the shock of a lifetime?
Reigns has not been seen on WWE programming since the Raw after WrestleMania 41 when Bron Breakker speared him through the barricade. In doing so, 'The Unpredictable Badass' aligned with the OTC's arch-rival Seth Rollins. Rollins, who has since then been joined by Bronson Reed, plans to capture the briefcase and change the landscape of the company forever. His plans may, however, go for a toss if Reigns finds a way to insert himself into the marquee match and win it.
Hypothetically, he could do so by taking out and replacing El Grande Americano in the contest. The 'legendary luchador' has been a nightmare for masked wrestlers ever since his debut a few months ago. Many believe that Raw's Chad Gable is under the mask, which makes this character all the more controversial.
As such, taking out such a notorious re-establish Reigns as a face (good guy) and add some much-needed star power to the marquee ladder match. Going down this route will help Reigns reignite his personal rivalry with Seth Rollins and possibly teach his faction a lesson. Inserting Reigns into the match will also allow the WWE to revisit (even if briefly) OTC's chequered past with his cousin Solo Sikoa, who had him removed from The Bloodline.
That said, this angle is purely speculative as things stand.
Why does Roman Reigns hate Seth Rollins?
Reigns and Seth Rollins were once part of the group called The Shield, which ruled the WWE. 'The Visionary', however, betrayed him many years ago. This led to the downfall of their relationship. Things hit rock bottom at WrestleMania 41 when Paul Heyman– the former Big Dog's 'Wiseman'-- betrayed him on Rollins' orders. Heyman also stabbed his 'friend' CM Punk in the back on that fateful night.

3 directions for Samantha Irvin that could have happened during her WWE tenure

Image via WWE Samantha Irvin could have explored new directions in WWE if she had been given the opportunity. Samantha Irvin rose to prominence as one of the captivating and enthralling WWE ring announcers of the modern era. Her distinctive voice, taking her antics to the next level, and her unique style made her a prominent figure in the company. However, Irvin shocked her esteemed fanbase by announcing her resignation from WWE last summer. Irvin stated that she only took up the role of ring announcing to transition into more directions within the WWE. Not only that, her music aspirations also contributed to her WWE departure. However, had the regime decided to give her that opportunity to explore more, here are three directions for Samantha Irvin that could have presented her in a different way on WWE television: 3. Second in command to a WWE authority figure Samantha Irvin had a remarkable presence on WWE television programming. She could have followed in the footsteps of past wrestlers like Stacy Keibler and Eve Torres. They were in-ring competitors, but took the role of assistants to the authority figures on WWE television. This could have been a new direction that could have been exciting for Irvin and possibly not led to her exit from the Stamford-based promotion. 2. Manager Another possible role for Samantha Irvin that could have occurred in WWE was that of a wrestling manager. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo The most obvious choice for Irvin to manage would have been her now husband, Ricochet. He was a mid-card attraction for the company, and pairing up with his wife would have been an exciting booking for his career, too. Moreover, this could have happened during Ricochet's feud with Logan Paul when he brought up Irvin, which could have been a stellar sight to witness. 1. Occasional wrestler While many fans may be unaware, Samantha Irvin has undergone training to become an in-ring athlete. She could have created history by becoming the first WWE ring announcer to also step in the ring. She could have had occasional feuds with top stars of the women's division that would have seen her compete in singles and tag team matches. Irvin handling double duties, both as a wrestler and a wrestler, would have made Monday Night RAW a must-see program, especially during her onscreen time. Will Adam Pearce replace Jey Uso at MITB 2025 with a WWE veteran?

Things are looking rough for Jey Uso heading into Money in the Bank 2025. On this week's episode of Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins and his crew launched a vicious attack on Jey. To make matters worse, Bronson Reed hit him with multiple Tsunamis, leaving fans seriously worried about how Jey's holding up—especially with a huge tag team match just days away. Jey is scheduled to team up with Cody Rhodes this Saturday to take on John Cena and Logan Paul. But after what went down on RAW, there's real concern he won't be cleared to compete. And that's not the only thing on Jey's plate. He's also got to defend his World Heavyweight Title against Gunther next week on RAW. Between that and all the enemies he's got right now—Rollins' crew, Cena and Logan, and Gunther—he's being pulled in every direction. It's no surprise that RAW GM Adam Pearce might have to step in and pull Jey from the tag match at MITB for the sake of his health. Also Read: 'Why isn't Brock Lesnar getting fired?': Ex-WWE writer questions Adam Pearce If that happens, fans are already speculating about a possible replacement. The most obvious (and dramatic) choice? Jey's own brother, Jimmy Uso. Sure, the two have had their ups and downs, but when it really matters, Jimmy's always shown up for Jey. If Jey can't go, Jimmy stepping in would make for one heck of a moment. That said, nothing is official yet. We still don't know the full extent of Jey's injuries, and Pearce hasn't made any announcements. Meanwhile, Gunther isn't wasting time. The Ring General is locked in on getting his title back from Jey, and he's been pretty vocal about it. He lost to Jey at WrestleMania 41 after tapping out, but on RAW this week, he made it clear he's ready for revenge. 'Because ever since that day I lost to you at WrestleMania, I knew I'd avenge this. And right now? You're making it very, very easy for me. Jey in one week, the party is over.' Gunther clearly thinks Jey's taking on too much—and honestly, he might have a point. Jey hasn't even held the title for two months yet, and while WWE usually lets champs keep the belt a while, this could be one of those rare moments where they shake things up fast. If Jey's not at 100%, Gunther could easily take advantage and walk out with the gold. Jey Uso's got a brutal week ahead of him—if he can even make it to Saturday. And right now, nothing feels guaranteed.
