PSG preparing to step up negotiations for sought-after Premier League star
The 22-year-old Ukrainian had become a key figure at Bournemouth last season, starting 35 league games and playing a major role in helping Andoni Iraola's side finish 9th on the table.
According to multiple reports, PSG submitted a formal €60m [$70m] offer earlier this summer, which was promptly rejected by the Premier League side as they continued holding firm on their €70m [$81m] valuation of the defender who arrived from Dynamo Kyiv in 2023.
Although no new offer has gone in since then, Les Parisiens have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Zabarnyi who has expressed his desire to join the Ligue 1 champions in time for the new season.
With Lucas Beraldo unsettled due to his lack of minutes and possibly looking for a move away, PSG believe Zabarnyi fits both short-term needs and long-term squad balance especially after their treble-winning campaign added new pressure to sustain success in Europe.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now stepped into the negotiations personally, according to RMC Sports.

The move clearly shows how the 2024/2025 Champions League winners are intending to resolve the gap and push over the finish line without delay.
Tottenham also eye PSG target
While Paris are preparing to resume discussions, Tottenham Hotspur have made move of their own with Caught Offside reporting that Thomas Frank's side have spoken to Bournemouth and are ready to meet the full €70m valuation.
However, the London club will have difficulty convincing Zabarnyi, who prefers PSG's sporting project.
PSG are also set to receive funds from Hugo Ekitike's €95m [$111m] potential move to Liverpool via a sell-on clause which could allow them to match Bournemouth's demands without delay.

Bayer Leverkusen's Fernando Carro fires back at Hans-Joachim Watzke: 'I want an exciting Bundesliga. I'm happy when more clubs make life difficult for Bayern'
Speaking to Welt am Sonntag, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has fired back at Hans-Joachim Watzke, following quotes he made about Florian Wirtz. Last month, the Dortmund CEO said: 'It's a real shame, especially for the DFL, that a player like Florian Wirtz is leaving the Bundesliga. I wouldn't have had a problem at all if he had gone to FC Bayern. That would have been better for the Bundesliga. It doesn't really matter for the national team. He'll play at the highest level in Liverpool, too. He could have worked better with Musiala in Munich, but two such good footballers can find each other anyway.' During the Wirtz transfer saga, Leverkusen were adamant that they would not sell to Bayern Munich, following Wirtz's completed move to Liverpool. Carro was asked if he was happy that the 22-year-old moved to the Premier League: 'Honestly, yes. I have a different opinion than Hans-Joachim Watzke. I don't understand how he, as the boss of Borussia Dortmund, could have been happy if Wirtz had gone to Munich. That would have made Bayern even stronger. I want an exciting Bundesliga. I'm happy when more clubs – besides us – make life difficult for Bayern, because I believe that benefits the Bundesliga.' As some people may not like Carro for his personality or the way he works, it is refreshing to see someone who is ready and willing to stand up to Bayern and not roll over at the first time of asking, like Dortmund. It can be argued that this type of mentality that Watzke showed in his original comment has been one of the reasons that have held die Schwarzgelben back from winning the Bundesliga in the past 13 years. This is also becoming an increasingly common occurrence in the Bundesliga, as Stuttgart is a prime example, continuing to be firm in their pursuit of the Bundesliga champions' interest in striker Nick Woltemade. Bayer Leverkusen monitoring Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling
Bayern Leverkusen are among the clubs keeping tabs on Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling ahead of a potential summer move (h/t BBC Sport). The English winger spent the last season on loan at Arsenal, where he hardly made an impact. He managed to score only one goal and five assists in 28 games for the Gunners whilst being mostly confined to substitute appearances. Sterling now finds himself not in Enzo Maresca's plans, with the Blues looking to sell him to trim their bloated squad. Leverkusen are looking to provide the English forward with an escape route as they prepare for the Champions League this season. With his career on a steady decline over the last few years, Sterling will be eager to revive his form. As Erik ten Hag has taken the reins at Leverkusen, there could be more emphasis on wingers compared to his predecessor Xabi Alonso, who relied on wing-backs. Amine Adli and Jonas Hoffman are the only prominent wingers in the squad, so a player of Sterling's calibre would be a good addition to the team. While there may be concerns over his form, Sterling's experience and European pedigree would be valuable assets for the Bundesliga side. But the ex-Manchester City star's lofty salary does not align with Leverkusen's wage structure. Leverkusen have been working to recruit a new winger after failing in their pursuit of Johan Bakayoko, who has joined RB Leipzig from PSV Eindhoven. Die Werkself have strengthened their armoury considerably with the signings of Ibrahim Maza, Mailk Tillman, Jarell Quansah and Mark Flekken in this window. Juventus are also keeping tabs on Sterling, who is valued at around £20 million by the Blues.

Nicolas Jackson's transfer to Man United gains new momentum
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign a striker from their direct rivals. Striker search ongoing After the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United aim to complete their attacking revolution with a number nine. The Red Devils have missed out on top targets Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres and are now currently assessing other options. Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Red Bull Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko are seen as potential options on the list. Another player who is allegedly on the club's radar is Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. Jackson keen on a move It has already been reported that the Senegal international has rejected SSC Napoli and AC Milan this summer as he prefers to stay in the Premier League. Nonetheless, United do face massive complications for a deal as it has been reported that Chelsea have placed the eye-watering valuation of £80m and £100m on the player, a price United cannot and will not pay this summer. Way around price Despite the huge valuation, Fabrizio Romano reports that there could be the opportunity for Ruben Amorim's side to strike a deal for the striker. It is reported that, 'sources reveal that in recent days, Manchester United have been approached with the opportunity to proceed and start talks for Nicolas Jackson.' The Italian journalist adds that, 'according to sources close to the negotiations, Chelsea still maintain an interest in Alejandro Garnacho as an option in case Manchester United want to open a proper negotiation for Nicolas Jackson.' Consequently, 'United are aware of Chelsea's potential interest in Garnacho and they are open to discussing conditions of a swap deal involving Nicolas Jackson.' At this moment in time, the Red Devils are still weighing up their options and have not started the process of any sort of official bid. It has also been highlighted that Jackson would be open to a move to United, even without Champions League football, which could certainly speed up any potential deal.
