Just months after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is already making headlines and not the kind the team was hoping for. Early Tuesday morning, the 22-year-old was pulled over in Ohio for allegedly speeding at 101 miles per hour on the highway.
It was 12:24 a.m., and according to police records, Sanders was driving north on I-71 when he was cited for going 41 mph over the limit.
Police say Shedeur Sanders was clocked at 101 mph near Strongsville, Ohio
According to the citation, Shedeur was pulled over by local authorities in Strongsville, about 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. He was allegedly driving 101 mph, a clear violation of the speed limit and one that could come with steep penalties depending on how the case is handled.
For now, it's a standard traffic ticket, but driving over 100 mph can sometimes result in harsher consequences depending on local laws, past driving history, or how the court views the offense.
Luckily for Shedeur, this doesn't appear to involve any DUI or reckless endangerment charges, just excessive speed.
The rookie QB now has two options: fight it in court or pay up
Shedeur now has a choice: he can either fight the ticket in court or pay the fine outright. That's standard in these cases though fighting it could come with the hope of reducing points or penalties on his license.
No official statement has been released by Sanders or the Browns organization, but it's safe to assume the team is aware.

And considering this is his rookie offseason, the last thing they want is more off-field drama.
Fans react as Sanders' 'fast start' takes on a whole new meaning
Naturally, fans didn't waste time chiming in. Some joked that Sanders is just 'practicing his 40-yard dash in a car,' while others questioned his decision-making just weeks before Browns training camp.
It's not uncommon for NFL players to land in hot water over speeding tickets, but driving over 100 mph? That's never a good look, especially for a rookie QB already under the microscope thanks to his famous last name and high expectations.
While no one's calling this a scandal, it's definitely not the cleanest way to kick off your NFL career. Shedeur has time to clean it up, either by paying the fine or showing up in court. But you can bet Browns fans and coaches will be watching closely.

'I still didn't win': Josh Allen calls MVP award worthless—says it means nothing without a ring

Despite clinching the 2024 NFL MVP award, Josh Allen remains laser-focused on winning the Super Bowl (Image via AP) Josh Allen may have walked away with the 2024 NFL MVP trophy, but he isn't celebrating just yet. The Buffalo Bills quarterback, who led his team to a stellar 13-4 regular-season record, has made it clear that individual honors are not enough. For Allen, the only accolade that truly matters is a Super Bowl ring—and until that happens, the rest feels hollow. Despite MVP glory, Josh Allen remains singularly focused on a Super Bowl title Josh Allen may be the reigning NFL MVP, but he's not impressed. The Buffalo Bills quarterback says the award means nothing without a Super Bowl, reigniting debate over individual accolades. 'It is such a great honor, and I do appreciate being honored for my work,' Allen said. 'But at the same time, I still didn't win a Super Bowl. Didn't win a ring, and that is the only goal. It's the only focus that I've ever had going into this league", said Allen in an exclusive Sports Illustrated interview, which occurred as part of the quarterback's promotional campaign for Natrol. Natrol Sleep & Restore with Josh Allen, 30s "The one positive, I will say, about winning an MVP means that your team is in a good position. You're making the playoffs, you're playing well and you're doing whatever you can to help your team win football games," said Allen. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? This offseason, the Bills have doubled down on their commitment to Allen. The front office retained 15 of the top 16 offensive players from last season and maintained coaching continuity—moves designed to keep momentum rolling into 2025. The additions of wide receivers Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore have also bolstered Buffalo's passing attack, complementing an elite offensive line that allowed only 14 sacks in 2024. With these weapons in place, the Bills' offense has been ranked No. 1 heading into the new season by signaling high expectations for Allen and company. Coach Joe Brady praises Allen's work ethic and team-first mentality Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady echoed Allen's sentiments during a recent appearance on the Centered on Buffalo podcast, reflecting on how Allen viewed the MVP win. 'Look, the biggest gift for me was him winning the MVP... because I know how hard he works. And don't get me wrong—he would have much rather been, you know, playing a game the next day,' Brady said. Brady emphasized that Allen's mindset is all about team success. 'We're not in the business of individual recognition—we're focused on team goals. And when the team succeeds, the individual honors will follow.' As the 2025 season approaches, it's clear Allen isn't chasing headlines. He's chasing history. Supreme Court warns governments against invoking stringent laws as tool of harassment

Representative Image NEW DELHI: Cautioning govts not to invoke stringent laws like UP Gangsters Act "as an instrument of harassment or intimidation, particularly where political motivations may be at play", Supreme Court has quashed an FIR lodged under the Act against people taking part in a demonstration after a communal flare-up arising out of a controversial social media post targeting a religious group, reports Amit Anand Choudhary. It said the accused were arrested and booked under various provisions of IPC for vandalising a shop owned by a person who had put an "incendiary" social media post. Supreme Court said the accused were arrested and booked under provisions of IPC for vandalising a shop and there was no need for lodging a second FIR against them by invoking Gangsters Act six months after the incident. Noting the stringent law was invoked 13 days after an accused's daughter-in- law filed nomination for chairmanship of Nagar Panchayat Khargupur (UP), a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta said, "This timing lends credence to their contention the Act may have been weaponised for extraneous considerations. " Allowing the plea of Lal Mohammad and other accused, the bench said the Act was enacted to combat organised gang-based crime and dismantle criminal syndicates, and invoking the law "based on a single incident of communal violence... is a significant departure from its legislative purpose". It said mere involvement of the accused in a demonstration after the communal flare-up, however serious, did not transform the participants into a 'gang' without evidence of organised and continuous criminal activity. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo "The constitutional guarantee of personal liberty acquires even greater significance when extraordinary legislation with stringent provisions, such as UP Gangsters Act, is invoked. While the state has broad discretion in criminal prosecution, this discretion must be exercised judiciously, based on relevant considerations, and in conformity with the statutory purpose. The power conferred upon the state cannot be wielded as an instrument of harassment or intimidation, particularly where political motivations may be at play," said Justice Mehta, who penned the judgment. "It is a cardinal principle of criminal jurisprudence that extraordinary penal provisions, particularly those that substantially abridge regular procedural safeguards, must be invoked based on evidence that meets a threshold of credibility and substantiality. The materials relied upon must establish a reasonable nexus between the accused and the alleged criminal activity, demonstrating actual probability of involvement rather than mere theoretical possibility. When a statute creates serious fetters on personal liberty, the evidentiary foundation for its invocation must be commensurately strong, supported by concrete, verifiable facts rather than vague assertions."

'F**k the Bruins': Brad Marchand's Stanley Cup heroics with Panthers reignite backlash over Bruins trade decision

Brad Marchand's Stanley Cup victory with the Florida Panthers has intensified criticism of the Boston Bruins' decision to release him (Getty Images) Brad Marchand's journey from being the face of the Boston Bruins to lifting the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers has sparked renewed debate—and outright criticism—about the Bruins' decision to let him go. At 37, Marchand played a pivotal role in Florida's playoff run, proving not only that he still has gas in the tank but also that Boston may have misjudged the value of one of their most iconic leaders. Brad Marchand proves his worth in Florida after emotional departure from Boston The veteran winger, Brad Marchand scored 10 goals and tallied 20 points in just 23 playoff games. His short-handed breakaway in Game 2 and the double-overtime game-winner solidified his clutch reputation and made his presence impossible to ignore. Reflecting on his exit from Boston, Marchand had said, 'It was very disappointing that things didn't get done just because, obviously, I love the organization. I wanted to stay there. But at the end of the day… every player has a shelf life regardless if that's when we want it to be or not.' Criticism of Bruins management erupts as Marchand leads Panthers to glory Marchand's postseason brilliance has triggered sharp reactions from fans and former players alike. On the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Paul Bissonnette didn't mince words: 'That's why Brad Marchand... I don't know why Boston didn't just give him the fucking 7 million per with the way he played. So fuck the Bruins for doing that.' Co-host Ryan Whitney chimed in, saying, 'Don Sweeney, what are you doing?... he's your captain, a legend. Why did they betray him?' Their comments reflect a growing sentiment that the Bruins made a colossal error by prioritizing cap flexibility or a potential rebuild over loyalty and leadership. Florida GM Bill Zito praised Marchand's seamless integration into the team: 'As impactful as they are on the ice… you wouldn't have been able to tell that those were the new guys... that speaks volumes.' Zito also hinted at wanting to keep the core intact, including Marchand, who clearly gelled both on and off the ice.
