Monday, June 9 forecast: A brief break from the rain

Happy Monday! 'Rain, rain, go away', many have likely been saying it, and it looks like Mother Nature finally heard. We'll enjoy a few days of quiet weather before rain chances return to the Ozarks. Download our KOLR 10 weather app Sunday's cold front cleared out the rain, and Monday's cold front is clearing out the humidity. The drier air will make for a quiet forecast and some cooler nights. Tonight we'll find starry skies with temperatures slipping into the 50s. Sunny skies, light winds, and comfortable humidity levels will make for an ideal early summer day on Tuesday. Wednesday will be another keeper, but noticeably warmer in the afternoon. Rain chances and cloud cover will creep back in from the southwest as a strung out storm slowly makes its way out of Texas and through the region. Most areas will likely remain dry through Thursday, but bank on needing the umbrella as we end the week with scattered showers and storms returning. The slow-moving storm will likely be close enough through the weekend to generate a daily chance for scattered showers and storms. Locally heavy rain amounts and lightning will be concerns, but severe weather is not expected at this time. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. One more round of storms to go

After weeks of relentless rain and storms, many are understandably ready for a break. Thankfully, just one more round of active weather stands between us and a stretch of quiet, sunny days. With moisture still trapped in the soil, patchy fog may develop early Sunday morning. However, skies will quickly clear, giving way to sunshine and temperatures rising into the 80s, accompanied by a light westerly breeze. Later in the afternoon and into the early evening, a cold front will move through the Ozarks, triggering another round of thunderstorms. These storms may bring large hail, damaging winds, and heavy downpours. Once this final wave of storms passes, a welcome stretch of dry, sunny weather is expected. Highs in the 80s and mostly sunny skies are forecast for Monday through Wednesday. For farmers looking to cut and bale hay, this could be the window you've been waiting for. That said, a few showers may return late Thursday, with additional rain chances possible to close out the week. Download our KOLR 10 weather app Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Friday, June 6 forecast: Another stormy start to Saturday for some

We started the day with another round of rain and thunder. Heavy rainfall came with the risk of flooding, and there was some isolated severe weather as well. The most significant of which was in Wheaton, MO, where damage was confirmed to be caused by a tornado. The storms cleared out by afternoon and we even managed to end the day with some sun, but it looks like another stormy start is on the way. Mother Nature is following the same script for Saturday morning with a wave of storms expected to organize overnight to the west. The storms will sweep along a frontal boundary from Oklahoma into Arkansas near sunrise. The overall track looks a little further south than Friday morning's round, and this will likely shift the risk of severe weather for Saturday morning a bit further south as well. Flooding will be the main threat, mainly across Northern Arkansas, where rainfall amounts will be highest. In addition to a flooding risk, we will have a risk of damaging winds, including a limited tornado risk, mainly south of a Pineville, MO, to Harrison, AR, line. Storms should make a quick exit later in the morning, with some sun trying to develop during the afternoon. Another system passing by to the north could trigger some spotty showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. A few of these could produce some isolated hail or wind, mainly closer to the St. Louis area. Sunday will get off to a quiet start with areas of fog. Sunnier skies and warmer temperatures can be expected ahead of another wave of thunderstorms that will move in from the northwest along a cold front. A few of these storms could also produce some isolated hail or wind. We will start drying out on Monday. A break from the spring monsoon will be coming for the upcoming work week. The quieter stretch will come with less humidity and dry conditions. We'll likely need the umbrellas again, though by the end of next week.
