Rashee Rice car crash victim's attorney blasts Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and the NFL: 'He can play, but can't pay'

Rashee Rice is on the field for Kansas City Chiefs as the crash case lingers.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is expected to suit up when the 2025
NFL
season kicks off, despite pleading guilty last month to two felony charges tied to a March car crash that left multiple people injured.
While the NFL has yet to announce any suspension, one of the crash victims' attorneys is speaking out, slamming both the player and the league for what he says is a lack of accountability.
Rice is still on track to play in some of Kansas City's most important early-season games, including international and prime-time matchups, while a civil settlement connected to the crash remains unpaid. The NFL has reportedly decided to hold off on a disciplinary ruling until late September, meaning Rice could appear in at least the first four games of the regular season.
Attorney for crash victim says Rashee Rice is playing but not paying
Marc Lenahan, the attorney representing Kathryn Kuykendall – one of the victims injured in the crash – expressed outrage this week during an interview with TMZ Sports. Kuykendall was riding in an Uber when Rice, allegedly driving at more than 100 miles per hour, rammed his rented Lamborghini into the vehicle.
According to Lenahan, Rice agreed to a $1 million civil settlement back in April, but has yet to make good on the payment.

Lenahan said it's unacceptable that Rice is still able to play for the Chiefs while avoiding financial responsibility for the harm caused in the accident. "It makes no sense," Lenahan said, adding "Poor Rashee says he can play, but can't pay. He says his groin has healed up, but he still hasn't grown up.
"
He also criticized the NFL's handling of the case and its silence on the matter as the season approaches. "The NFL is sending Poor Rashee to São Paulo to live it up," he said, "instead of to Wells Fargo to get a loan so he can pay up."

Rashee Rice pleaded guilty after racing crash that injured multiple people
The crash happened in March 2024 when Rashee Rice was reportedly racing a friend on a Texas highway in a rented 2020 Lamborghini Urus. He lost control, hit several other cars, and then left the scene without helping anyone who was hurt. Police later arrested Rice, and in July he pleaded guilty to two felonies: one for racing that caused injury, and another for a crash that led to serious injury. He was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail.
Even with the guilty plea and sentence, Rice has stayed active with the Chiefs throughout training camp and the preseason.
NFL postpones decision while Chiefs prepare for high-profile matchups
Under typical circumstances, the league moves swiftly on disciplinary matters once the legal process is complete. Just last month, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was suspended following the resolution of his own criminal case. But in this instance, ESPN reports that the NFL will wait until at least September 30 before making a decision on Rice.

That timeline would allow him to be available for the Kansas City Chiefs' opener against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, as well as high-stakes games against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and AFC rival Baltimore Ravens.

Tom Brady's outfit at Raiders preseason game turns heads, internet reacts: ‘I need that jacket'

Tom Brady's appearance at the Los Angeles Raiders' Saturday (August 16) game against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium has caught fans' attention not because of anything he did, but because of what he wore. File photo of Tom Brady(Getty Images via AFP) Tom Brady arrives in style 'Brady in a white Al Davis-esque Raiders jacket is a sight I'd never thought I'd see,' an X user wrote, sharing a video of the NFL star. In October 2024, the NFL approved a 5% minority stake in the franchise for Brady, as reported by the Bucs. Hence, his appearance at the game was in line with fulfilling his ownership duties. Rather than any obvious fashion statement, what caught fans' attention was how odd it felt to see the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wear the jersey of a team he once had a rivalry against. TB12 was 5-1 against the franchise throughout his career, as reported by Athlon Sports. Fans react to Tom Brady's outfit Fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to Brady's latest fashion outing. 'I use to call Al Davis' look Mr. Las Vegas. That was back in the late 80s when they were in LA. For me it was the glasses he wore,' a fan wrote. 'He's starting to look more and more like Bruce Jenner right before…you know,' another shared. 'I still have mixed feelings about this. But if he helps us win a Super Bowl there will be no more tuck rule animosity,' a fan expressed. A fan opined his thoughts by writing, 'It's going to take some time for me to get used to him being part of the Raiders. But, he is CA badass, so I'm all in if he helps us build a winning team.' 'Tom just a divorced bachelor living in Las Vegas at this point , I see the vision 😆' another fan wrote. Due to his stake in the Raiders, Brady is 'not permitted to attend in-person or online broadcast production meetings and may not have access to team facilities, players or coaches', as per the NFL. Nonetheless, he seems to be revelling in this phase of his career. With contribution from Stuti Gupta

Chris Boswell ends hold in with Steelers and plays preseason game against Buccaneers (Image via Getty) Chris Boswell, the Pittsburgh Steelers' veteran kicker, has ended his hold-in and returned to the field during the team's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, August 16, 2025. This move comes after weeks of speculation regarding his contract status. With 41 field goals made in 2024, leading the NFL , Boswell is starting his 11th season with the Steelers under contract until 2026. Boswell's contract, signed in 2022, puts him outside the top ten highest-paid kickers in the league, even if he had an amazing performance last season. Chris Boswell ends hold-in and returns to Steelers preseason game amid contract talks Chris Boswell started the game and also after a touchdown by teammate Brandon Johnson in the preseason game against the Buccaneers. His presence on the field shows his preparedness for the coming season, even though he didn't try a field goal in this game. Clearly indicating his desire for a contract correction, Chris Boswell's hold-in approach, where a player attends team events but abstains from games or practice, was a clear sign. His performance in 2024, converting 41 of 44 field goals and all 35 extra points, earned him his second Pro Bowl selection and first-team All-Pro honors. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite?
