CISF conducts psychometric assessment of 31,000 personnel deployed at sensitive locations in national capital
The CISF signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aditya Birla Education Trust (ABET) in November 2024.
The Project Mann initiative has resulted in counselling and interventions in cases of depression, marital discord, financial stress, among others, the CISF said.
R.S. Bhatti, Director General, CISF, appreciated the role of the ABET professionals in creating mental health awareness in CISF personnel.
'Mental health is as mission critical as physical fitness for our personnel. This initiative strengthens our internal support systems and ensures that our personnel remain emotionally resilient, focused, and operationally ready,' Mr. Bhatti said.
Project Mann has been able to help 75,181 CISF peronnel and their families so far. The ABET has also trained 1,726 CISF officers and sub-officers to identify and manage low-risk mental health issues, and escalate serious cases to professionals. This two-tiered structure has made psychological support more accessible at the grassroots level, the CISF said.

Madras High Court conducts health camp for its staff
The Madras High Court, in association with the Tamil Nadu government, on Thursday (August 7, 2025), conducted a mega health camp for its staff with doctors from various specialities in allopathy, ayurveda, unani, siddha and homeopathy systems of medicine screening them. The camp was conducted by first collecting blood samples of the court staff members between July 28 and 31, 2025 and then organising a consultation with the doctors inside the High Court campus on Wednesday (August 6) and Thursday (August 7). Consultations were held with experts in cardiology, diabetology, general surgery, neurology, nephrology, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, psychiatry, pulmonology, urology, radiology, dermatology, general medicine, dentistry and physiotherapy among other specialities. The health camp was open to the court staff as well as the police personnel deployed for security in the court premises, the personal security officers of the judges and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel who guard the High Court buildings. According to the State health department, 1,267 consultations were held with the specialists and 901 master health check ups were conducted on Wednesday alone. The number had risen considerably on the second day of the camp. The camp also offered medical investigations such as electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiogram (ECHO), Ultrasound Sonography (USG), X-ray, pulmonary function test (PFT) and optometry. Justice P.T. Asha oversaw the arrangements and encouraged participation of the staff. The Madras High Court Officers and Staff Association office-bearers thanked the judge, Additional Advocate General J. Ravindran, Health Secretary P. Senthil Kumar, the government doctors, paramedical staff and all others who conducted the health camp for the benefit of the court staff.

250 CISF personnel from Mangaluru make use of mental health support services
As many as 250 personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Mangaluru have made use of mental health support services offered under the CISF's Project Mann programme. The CISF said in a release that the Project Mann programme was being implemented in association with the Aditya Birla Education Trust (ABET). Apart from psychometric screening, counselling, and peer engagement, the programme offered round the clock helpline services across the CISF units in the country. The programme was started in November 2024 and so far 75,181 CISF personnel and their family members have utilised its services. The psychometric assessments of over 31,000 personnel for early identification in case of potential issues have been done so far. The initiative has resulted in counselling and interventions in the case of depression, marital discord, and financial stress, it said. Suicide rate of CISF personnel has declined below the national average during the year 2024 and 2025, which showed effectiveness of the programme, the release claimed. The ABET has trained 1,726 CISF officers and sub-officers to identify and manage low-risk mental health issues and escalate serious cases to professionals. This two-tiered structure has made psychological support more accessible at the grassroots level, the release stated.
