Three killed, three injured in PLUS Highway crash near Tapah
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarozi Nor Ahmad said the department received a distress call at 11.19am and dispatched seven personnel to the scene.
The deceased were identified as Chong Ong, 77; Teh Kim Kai, 76; and Tan Ah Tak, 70.
'The crash involved a Toyota Vios and a Proton X50. One man in the Vios was injured, while five men were in the X50 — two were injured and three died at the scene,' he said in a statement.
The injured were handed over to medical personnel, while the deceased were confirmed dead at the scene and referred to the police for further action.
Tapah police chief Supt Johari Yahya said all victims were taken to Tapah Hospital, adding that further details will be shared soon. - Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR: A post-mortem on the body of a man found near the railway tracks in Sungai Serian, Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor on Thursday (July 31) confirmed that the victim died from strangulation using a rope. Suspect in cop stabbing tests positive for heroin in Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR: The suspect who stabbed a policeman during a crime prevention patrol at Pudu Market, Jalan Yew, has tested positive for heroin. Kuala Lumpur acting police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad confirmed the suspect was under the influence of drugs during the attack. 'Checks found that the individual has 14 previous records, including those related to drugs and crime,' he said when contacted today. Action taken against student who punched teacher in Kajang, says Education Minister
