BBC Beyond Paradise star pays tribute to 'delightful' Kris Marshall as they address co-star's exit

Barbara Flynn has shared poignant words about her Beyond Paradise co-stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton, declaring, "they lead it beautifully".
Chatting exclusively with Reach PLC, the actress, known on-screen as Anne Lloyd, also touched upon Peter Davison's short stint and exit from the TV series.

Anne has found the character facing tumultuous times, including heartbreak courtesy of Peter's character, Richard Baxter, and confronting health concerns in the current series.

Reflecting on her work with Peter Davison, Barbara lamented, "It's a shame Pete wasn't in it for longer," reminiscing about their previous collaboration: "I worked with him a long time ago in A Very Peculiar Practice where we had a very different relationship."
The actress couldn't hide her enthusiasm when talking of the cast and crew: "The people are delightful," reports the Express.

Specifically, she's eager for more moments with her fictional son-in-law, played by Kris Marshall: "I want more of those lovely scenes that they have together where she just raises her eyebrows and has to leave the room."
Continuing her praise, Barbara lauded Kris's charisma: "Kris and Sally lead it beautifully. Kris has an extremely attractive personality."
Delving into the reasons behind the show's allure, Barbara pointed out, "There's no blood, there's a puzzle, and people can be puzzle lovers of any age."

She concluded by reflecting on the series' charms: "And so there is this puzzle surrounded by people that we get to know, and I think that it's that combination of cleverness and of giving people something that has touched their family."
Barbara opened up about her brief stint on Death in Paradise and how it preceded her role in Beyond Paradise, sharing, "I was in an episode of Death in Paradise. It was a few years before," and candidly revealing, "I don't watch it, I am not a devotee, but I think it is very nice when I do watch it."

The actress, who champions the cause of Pancreatic Cancer UK, spoke movingly about her husband's tragic passing as the London Marathon approaches.
Pancreatic Cancer UK has placed Shoes of Hope along the River Thames to underscore the harrowing effects of pancreatic cancer and to call for government investment in early detection research.
Barbara recounted the painful loss of her husband Jeremy in July 2017, just six weeks after his diagnosis, and explained her motivation for supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK: "A lot of people who are involved with pancreatic cancer have had a personal experience with this dreaded disease, and that's how I became involved."

She detailed the challenges of detecting the illness, saying, "My husband was diagnosed in 2017 very late, and the symptoms are quite asymptomatic. That's the trouble. He always had bad indigestion, but actually, that was how we discovered where he was, and he was very, very far along with the disease.
"This is the main problem that people do not survive, and the research is limited because of that, and in a way, it is a death sentence."

Barbara recounted the challenges her husband faced: "You know, people don't necessarily want to spend their remaining time helping, do you know what I mean? It is a difficult situation.
"He [Jeremy] would have, but he only had six weeks, unfortunately, which was very, very cruel. He didn't know an awful lot about the disease because he was a science writer and had made very, very many horizons and was scientifically pretty adept."
Reflecting on his nature, she added: "So he did know, and he was a very generous man and, therefore, would have shared everything."
