Best time to go to toilet during Oasis Murrayfield shows to avoid missing anything
Edinburgh is preparing for the arrival of Britpop legends Oasis this weekend, as well as up to 200,000 fans who are heading for Murrayfield Stadium over the next few days.
The Gallagher brothers play three dates at Murrayfield from tomorrow - Friday, Saturday and Tuesday - and already fans are gathering from across the globe to snap up merchandise.
For the 67,000 fans heading to the Scottish capital ready to feel Supersonic each night, comfort breaks might not be top of mind, but with just one toilet for every 35 people, according to Victorian Plumbing's research, it probably should be.
That's why researchers have analysed Oasis' tour setlist to help you plan the best times to head for a loo break without missing the key 'mad fer it' moments.
Based on the average person needing to urinate 6-7 times per day, Victorian Plumbing has estimated that the average person needs to urinate every two hours and eight minutes. So far, Oasis' set list includes a total of 23 songs, with a performance typically lasting two hours and 15 minutes, meaning that you very well may need the loo during the setlist, depending on your timings. Another factor to consider when knowing how frequently you will need to go to the toilet is how much liquid you consume.
Staying hydrated is really important, but too much liquid - especially alcohol - will have you missing songs for toilet runs. Pace yourself is the advice from the researchers - sip steadily and plan ahead so you're not stuck in a queue.
When is the best time to go to the toilet during the Oasis gig?
The experts have revealed the longest, and least streamed, songs that Oasis are expected to perform, which could be the perfect chance for an opportune loo break.
Alex Woods, Bathroom Expert at Victorian Plumbing, has the advice people need to ensure they don't miss any of the action if they are caught short.
He reckons 1997 hit D'You Know What I Mean? is Oasis's longest track, clocking in at over seven minutes, which makes it a "perfect moment" for a quick toilet break - especially during the extended guitar solo and instrumental sections.
He added: "It gives listeners a natural pause without missing any key lyrics or vocals.'
Alex says there's one other tune that could facilitate a good time to check out the Murrayfield facilities - Noel's acoustic ballad Talk Tonight, which is Oasis' least streamed song. He believes it's a safe option without missing a crowd favourite.
He adds: "Plus, based on previous Oasis gigs, it is usually played in the middle of the gig, meaning it's prime time for a quick toilet break.'
Alex also has a top tip when it comes to an efficient toilet break, as he went on: "In stadiums, toilets away from the stage and main entrances, like those behind stands or on upper levels, typically have shorter queues, so use facilities on your level to save time.
"It is best to go early before doors open or during opening acts to ensure you don't end up missing your favourite song.
"Queues are shortest before the show, longer during popular songs, and busiest at the end."
The expert also advises to "scout" toilets early and combine breaks with when you're picking up your bucket hat merch as "planning ahead means less stress and no missed moments.'

Because I'd love to see you there! I'll be having conversations with some of our best-loved names in telly, theatre, music, and more – about their own life and work, but also about their favourite Scottish albums, books and films. Fans of wildlife film-maker Gordon Buchanan will have the chance to see another side of the globe-trotting TV favourite up-close; music and acting royalty Barbara Dickson joins me for a blether, and she'll play us some songs; actor, broadcaster, panto star and sell-out festival favourite Grant Stott makes his only Fringe appearance this year. I'll also be joined by Del Amitri's Justin Currie, Still Game's Gavin Mitchell (aka Boabby the Barman), and music icon Horse, who'll celebrate 35 years of her debut, The Same Sky, with reflections on the record, and she'll perform some tracks from it too. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Nicola Meighan What will we learn from your show that we didn't know before? I can't really second-guess my guests, so I'm hoping I'll learn a lot from them too! I'm looking forward to Gordon Buchanan giving us some insight as to what it's like to rub shoulders with snow wolves, leopards, and polar bears. Along with Still Game, Gavin Mitchell has had a fascinating career in theatre, art and TV, so I'm hoping he'll reflect upon his time with John Byrne, Derek Jarman and Robin Williams. Horse has been uncovering all manner of artefacts relating to The Same Sky for our event, so it'll be wonderful to glean new things about an album – and artist – I've loved for decades. And I can't wait to discover Grant Stott's favourite Scottish album; Barbara Dickson's favourite film; Justin Currie's favourite book. Tell us something about you that would surprise people. I love asking questions, but I'm absolutely lost for answers. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad What's the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night? At the moment, I'm immersed in the novels, films and records that have been chosen for these conversations. No spoilers, but that means I've been going to bed reading Muriel Spark and Michael Pedersen, waking up listening to Barbara Dickson and the Fire Engines' Davy Henderson, watching some of Scotland's best-loved movies. I hope that, if you come along, you'll leave armed with a reading / listening / watching list of great Scottish work you might have not encountered, or might be inspired to revisit. There'll certainly be a few surprises. Thanks for the interview! We'd like to buy you a drink. Where are we going and what are we drinking? Gavin Mitchell – Boabby the Barman – is my guest on Monday, so can I transpose The Clansman from Still Game to Edinburgh? Two pints, obviously.
