Major ITV Love Island update for 2026 as show to be extended

Daily Record2 days ago
ITV have announced that Love Island: All Stars will return in 2026 for a third season and this time it will be longer than usual
ITV have announced that Love Island: All Stars will return for an extended third series on ITV2 in January 2026. The news comes after the intense finale of the 12th series, which saw American beauty Toni Laites and Cach Mercer take home the win and 50K cash prize.

This year's show was dubbed 'TV gold' by fans who branded the series as 'iconic' with its summer of jaw dropping twists and turns. And it looks like ITV are continuing with that momentum with the return of Love Island: All Stars.

One again, fan-favourite Islanders from across the 12 seasons of the show will return to the villa in hopes for a second chance at finding love, while navigating the relationship dilemmas of bombshells, heads turning and what it truly means to be open.

The hit show will return to the stunning villa in South Africa, with more Islanders hoping to find love. The series will launch in the new year and run for six whole weeks instead of the five which the past two seasons ran for.
The previous two seasons saw couples from multiple series find love with each other, with several couples still together to this day. Season one in 2024 saw Molly Smith and Tom Clare crowned as the winners, and the pair are still going from strength to strength having recently bought their first house together.

Other returning Islanders include Sophie Piper, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Curtis Pritchard, Scott Thomas and Anton Danyluk.
The Love Island franchise has proved to be one of ITV's biggest shows for 16-34 audiences. The show has also continued to be streamed on ITVX when off air, being watched over two billion times.

The show celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with season 12, and it is expected to be the biggest since season nine (which aired in January 2023).
This show's streams on ITVX, currently at 163 million, are up 9 per cent year-on-year, making it the biggest series since the launch of ITVX. The show has also pulled in the biggest digital channel 16-34 audience of the year and continues to dominate digital conversation with a colossal reach of 2.3 billion across all platforms.
Love Island is commissioned by Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions and Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor, Reality at ITV.

Mike Spencer-Hayter, Creative Director, Lifted Entertainment, said: 'Love Island: All Stars has quickly established itself as a stand-alone hit, keeping fans of the show gripped by iconic Islanders from the past 10 years returning for another chance to find love.
"We are very excited about series 3 and you can expect the twists and turns to continue in All Stars, after an incredible smash hit summer series."
Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor, Reality at ITV added: "With over 2 billion streams, the Love Island brand continues to thrive, with our All Stars series fast becoming a staple in our reality schedule. We can't wait to kick start our third series and set about bringing back some of the viewers' favourite Islanders for another unmissable series."

"So even though Hannah only lasted one minute, she'll still get paid over £10k for that minute." ‌ They added to The Sun: "It's well worth stars signing up even if they don't think they can complete the show just for the payday - it might be embarrassing taking their armband off early in the show, but it's good money!" Wales Online has approached Channel 4 for comment. Chloe Burrows quit in the second episode (Image: Pete Dadds / Channel 4) ‌ The second episode of Celebrity SAS saw the stars challenged with climbing up a steep hill and then hanging from a wire over a ravine. Chloe, struggling on the climb, was left in tears after being told by the DS that she was "wasting a massive opportunity". "I'm done," she wept, adding: "F*** off, this is the worst thing I have ever done in my whole life!" ‌ It wasn't long before Tasha followed suit, quitting and saying: "I'm not mentally here. I'm not mentally here to do this." Some of the extreme challenges were too much for stars like Tasha Ghouri, who quit in the second episode (Image: Channel 4) Meanwhile, ahead of her exit, Hannah spoke about why she wanted to take part in Celebrity SAS, saying: "I hope to take out of this experience, strength. I want to feel stronger again, mentally and physically, because there's always improvement there. ‌ "There are always dips that happen along the way with motherhood or whatever but I think when you just experience different stuff, it changes you. "I have no idea what to expect, but I do know it will be an experience and it's something that I will have for life." It was too much for the singer, who bowed out after minutes (Image: Channel 4) Article continues below She added: "However the experience goes, I am going to learn about myself. Maybe I'll find out I am a bit of a mess or I might find out that I'm stronger than I think I finding out things about yourself that you would never, ever find out. "We live in this world where it's so easy to live in our comfort zone, so this is an opportunity to get outside of that me anyway, growth and expansion is one of the most important things, and that is something that hopefully I can pass on to my kids." Emmerdale fans divided over shock kiss

This article contains spoilers for tonight's Emmerdale, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Emmerdale fans have been divided after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) cheated on husband Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) with her ex-fiancé Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). Charity was struggling after losing the baby she was carrying as a surrogate for Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and took herself to the pub to get wine drunk in the middle of the day. Noticing that Charity was on the path to self destruction, Vanessa took her home and, after consuming even more wine, Charity leaned in to kiss her. For some Emmerdale fans, this is the moment they have been dreaming of ever since Vanessa and Charity split in 2020. Others, however, have grown fond of Charity and Mack's relationship. Therefore, it is no surprise that there has been a mixed reaction to the sudden kiss from Metro readers. 'No I like Charity and Mack together,' Marie Leith told us on Facebook, and she is not the only one rooting for the couple, who have been married since 2023. 'Please don't put those two together again. I like Charity and [Mack] as a couple,' Jo King pleaded, while Diane Mcdougall agreed: 'M +C Together.' Several other Metro readers agreed that they would prefer to keep Vanessa and Charity's relationship in the past, with Elaine Saunders saying: 'Please don't go there again.' On the flip side, there are many Metro readers who are desperate to see Vanessa and Charity, or Vanity as they have been known, back together. The couple share a rich history, having first kissed unexpectedly while locked in the cellar of the Woolpack together. They supported each other through some incredibly tough times, including Charity's revelation that she was sexually abused as a child and Vanessa's battle with bowel cancer. As a lesbian myself, I am definitely team Vanity! With their first ever kiss having aired on my 18th birthday, I was obviously invested from the get-go. Not only are they great representation for lesbians, they also have a really interesting dynamic. Vanessa draws out the softer side of Charity while Charity brings out Vanessa's feistiness. I don't know if they are a couple who would ultimately work long-term, but I do think there is some unfinished business that I'd love for Emmerdale to explore. They even adopted each other's youngest children, though ultimately their relationship wasn't meant to be. However, this kiss has given Vanity fans hope that maybe something will be rekindled. 'Hoping they can find their way back to each other. Vanity are endgame. Thank you Emmerdale,' Ally Kiesslinger wrote, adding: '5 years later and they still have the chemistry yay.' Shanna Rattan agreed, and even called for Charity to end things with Mack. 'Vanity endgame let's hope Charity dumps Mack,' she said. Who do you think Charity should be with? Over on Twitter/X, Metro readers were equally as excited, with user @My6Percent comparing the kiss to a religious holiday for the LGBTQ+ community. 'I was not prepared for Queer Christmas to start so early!' They wrote. Despite the length of time Charity and Vanessa have been apart, Michelle thought this kiss was 'worth the wait', adding: 'It still feels like a dream oh my gosh what an ending.' Meanwhile, Serabee revealed that they 'screamed and cried' during the scene, before going on to beg Emmerdale 'not to spoil this, to let it be something'. How things are set to play out between Charity, Vanessa and Mack from here remains to be seen, but there will surely be some juicy drama ahead. More Trending When I spoke to actress Michelle Hardwick at the British Soap Awards this year, she refused to rule out a Vanity reunion. 'Everything changes so quickly, and from script to script. You never know. But hey, Vanessa's single! Who knows what's going to happen?' She told me.
