WEST BROM have released fourteen players following their catastrophic collapse in the Championship.
The Baggies saw their promotion dreams fall off a cliff after the arrival of manager Tony Mowbray in January.

West Brom had been flying high in sixth place when boss Carlos Coberan was replaced by Tony Mowbray following the Spaniard's move to La Liga giants Valencia.
But after Mowbray managed just five wins in 18 games, West Brom fell out of contention and the 61-year-old was sacked.
Baggies captain Jed Wallace slammed the second-half meltdown as "unacceptable" and claimed the players hadn't been good enough.
He told the BBC: "At times like this you have to look at yourself - as a group of players you have to look at yourself and say how many of us have had a good season? I know I certainly haven't."

Now the club seems to have taken a similar stance after releasing FOURTEEN first team stars on their retained list.
Those names include former Chelsea youngster John Swift and ex-Arsenal hopeful Semi Ajayi.
Swift, 29, leaves West Brom after making over 125 appearances for the club since his switch from Reading in 2022.
While 38-time Nigeria international Ajayi, who spent two years with Arsenal between 2013 and 2015, leaves after lining up for West Brom 177 times.

Joining them on the list of released players is former West Ham ace Grady Diangana, whose 2020 switch to West Brom cost the club a reported £18MILLION.
A host of youngsters such as Fenton Heard, Josh Shaw and Reece Hall have all been let go too.

West Brom will also lose three top loan stars in Mason Holgate, Adam Armstrong and Will Lankshear.
The trio are all set to return to their parent clubs of Everton, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur for next season.

Morocco reveals ambitious £887m plan to host African F1 race
Morocco looks set to enter the competitive race to host an F1 race in Africa with a spectacular $1.2m (£887m) plan revealed near the coastal city of Tangier. Both South Africa – at either the Kyalami track near Johannesburg or a Cape Town street circuit, and Rwanda have expressed strong interest in hosting a grand prix, perhaps as early as 2027. Africa is the only habitable continent that F1 does not host a race in, amidst the congested 24-event calendar. The last grand prix in Africa was the 1993 South African GP. But now, Morocco is aiming to build a mega-project 20km south of Tangier, which will include a Grade 1 circuit fit to host F1 and MotoGP, a theme park, a shopping mall and a marina. The architect behind the plan, ex-McLaren and Lotus team principal Eric Boullier, has his sights set on the project being something close to a 'mini-Abu Dhabi.' 'We went there [Tangier] to do a feasibility study to assess the potential of one day Formula 1 racing in Morocco,' Boullier told RacingNews365. "We found the spot they selected met all the criteria, and from that point, we built the project. This is quite a big project. It is a mini-Abu Dhabi, if I may compare, creating a completely independent ecosystem, obviously based on tourism. "It will have a huge impact on the region, based south of Tangier, so additional hotels and the airport are all within 15 kilometres. It's a strategic project for the country, a very serious project, which needs to have the approval at the highest level. 'If we get that, it will tick all the boxes of what F1 wants to achieve in Africa. It would make sense to hold F1 there, making it the pinnacle of the year, but with an ecosystem created to survive all year." The project has already generated $800m of private investment, with the hope that more will be obtained if the spectacular plans are approved at the highest level in Morocco. Boullier was previously managing director of the French Grand Prix, last on the calendar in 2022 at Circuit Paul Ricard.

The 23-year-old full-back, who was excellent in their Play-Off Final win over Sheffield United to ensure Régis le Bris' side would return to the top tier for the first time since 2017, is understood to not only be on the radar of Everton and Wolves but also several La Liga teams. Seen as a modern full-back who is capable of both doing the defensive and offensive side of the game, Hume has long has his admirers after having nine goal involvements for Sunderland in the Championship last season, three of which were goals. Now it has emerged that Everton and Wolves are the two front-runners from the Premier League for his signatures, the former in particular keen to secure his signature as a replacement for Seamus Coleman. The Republic of Ireland international has not yet signed a new deal for next season with the Toffees but, even if he does, after several injury-impacted seasons David Moyes will surely be looking to who will replace him long-term. Similarly, Wolves are on the look-out for a new right-back as they continue to struggle to agree fresh terms with captain Nélson Semedo, whose contract expires in just a few weeks. Fenerbahce star Bright Osayi-Samuel has been a name bandied around Molineux, however it is believed that Hume has emerged as a leading contender to fill the gap left by the Portuguese international. An obstacle to any potential deal is that Hume, who is already tied down to Sunderland until 2027, has a team option in his contract to extend his stay at the Stadium of Light by a further year, which could be exercised in order to drive up his value even further. Sunderland will also be keen not to lose another key piece of their promotion squad, especially since Hume has been with them since they were in League One and that they are also set to lose Jobe Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund. The Wearside club have reportedly agreed a £30million deal with the German side, who previously had Bellingham's brother Jude on their books, which would represent a rough start to their summer dealings on their return to the Premier League. Any potential transfer would be good news for Linfield, however, as they are due to receive 15 per cent of Hume's sell-on fee when he leaves Sunderland, a clause that was written into the £150,000 transfer that sent the defender to the Stadium of Light from Windsor Park back in January 2022. With Hume valued at £15million, that could lead to around £2.25million coming back into the Linfield coffers, a significant windfall for the Sports Direct Premiership champions.

Manchester United could miss out on a major windfall for ex-player Alvaro Carreras, with Real Madrid reportedly struggling to agree a deal for the Benfica star. Carreras joined United as a teenager in 2020 but moved to the Portuguese side last year. And after a stellar year in the Primeira Liga, Carreras is now generating huge interest from Europe's elite and United were hoping to profit from a transfer. When United sold the left-back to Benfica last summer for around £5m, club officials are said to have negotiated a sell-on clause of between 40 and 50 percent. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the United hierarchy could have been looking at a £20m windfall after reports Madrid were considering paying his £42m release clause. United desperately need extra cash this summer amid their perilous financial situation. Ratcliffe previously revealed the club was on course to run out of money by Christmas and been undertaking a ruthless cost-cutting regime. Ticket prices have already been increased, with concessions slashed and free lunches in the canteen axed - and a number of exit are expected this summer as United look to get expensive players off the wage bill. But a boost of cash injection from the Carreras deal now looks unlikely after Marca claimed Real Madrid are willing to risk losing out on him because they don't believe he's worth his release clause. Benfica are reportedly refusing to budge on their £42m price for the 22-year-old but Madrid have told them they are prepared to walk away from the deal - despite previous claim that Xabi Alonso's men had already agreed a deal. The report adds that Benfica want as much money as possible because they know United are due for a big chunk of the transfer fee. Madrid are eager to sign a new left-back for Alonso, with Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia their only recognised options in the position. Instead Alonso could move for his ex-Leverkusen star Alex Grimaldo. Carreras started 30 games for Benfica in the Portuguese top flight, scoring four and assisting three in all competitions. Any money United can receive for his signature will massively help them bolster their own squad. Ruben Amorim's side have already signed Wolves star Matheus Cunha while a deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo appears to be close.
