Home and Away fans heartbroken by Channel 7's 'emotional' Lynne McGranger tribute
In the clip, we see hints at what's to come on the show, with Irene telling John (Shane Withington), "I'm so scared," as clips of her time on the show play, showing some of the much-loved stars that have graced the show, including, the late Johnny Ruffo. She also tells Leah (Ada Nicodemou) through tears, "If I say it, that will make it real."
"Time is just slipping through my fingers," she tells Leah in another scene.
"I won't lose you from my life, one second before I have to," John also tells a tearful Irene.
The voiceover says, "Say goodbye to a legend... Don't miss a moment of Home and Away."

Home and Away scene sparks major theory about star's 'emotional exit'
The show has been hinting that Irene's exit will be related to memory loss, with Channel 7 confirming in a statement, "In recent weeks, Irene has experienced a series of alarming memory lapses, including a concerning incident where she forgot she was babysitting Archie and nearly left him home alone.
"Next week, Irene takes her first step toward confronting the truth. With the support of her dear friend John Palmer (Shane Withington), she bravely meets with Dr Bree Cameron (Juliet Godwin) for a medical consultation. It's there that Irene is faced with a gut-wrenching reality. There's no coming back from this one.
"As word spreads, the Bay will rally to support one of its most beloved residents through her biggest challenge yet, building towards an episode that will go down in Australian television history."
Lynne has been on the show since her on-screen debut in 1993, when Irene, a recovering alcoholic, returned to Summer Bay after turning her life around and hoping to reconnect with her daughter, Fin (Tina Thomsen). Since then, she has become one of the most popular characters on the soap and has been at the centre of some of the show's biggest storylines.
Heartbroken Home and Away fans have taken to Instagram to share their love of Lynne, with one fan writing, "Gosh... this has me in tears already... beautiful tribute! You are going to be so missed on the show!"
"These scenes look heartbreaking I'm not sure we're ready to farewell Irene!" another said.
"There's not a part of me ready to say goodbye, this promo made me so emotional and then seeing Noah [Beau Brady] in it broke me more and then seeing Johnny had me in tears," a third wrote.
"Lynne!! This is such a beautiful tribute," someone else added. "Thank you for being a fabulous Irene that you are! I am so sad to see you go, but excited for your new journey!"
"Not ready for this farewell at all," another wrote.
"It's going to be so strange watching Home and Away without Irene," one person said. "It'll be so different."
"Nooooo!!!! I'm not ready to say goodbye to Irene," an upset viewer wrote. "Thank you for everything, and good luck for the future. H&A won't be the same without you."
"Tissue boxes ready," someone else said.
"I wish it was a cheery goodbye," another added.
Lynne, who is the longest-serving female actor on an Australian drama series, said in a statement earlier this year: "After almost 33 years in my dream role and working everyday with people who I love, respect and whom I now consider family, it's bittersweet to be closing the chapter on what has been the best and longest gig of my life.
"I am forever grateful to the best production crew in the world and to our genius writers – whose doors are always open – for everything they have done for Irene over the past 33-odd years, and I am so proud of the storyline which will see Irene out of the Bay. Above all, a massive, heartfelt thank you to the fans for your continued love and support."

Lynne revealed that after performing in the stage show, Cruising with the Grandparents Club, she realised she wanted to spend more time doing theatre while she's still able to.
"I've decided it's time to hang up the apron," she said on The Morning Show in February. "It's been coming on for a while, and when I toured the Grandparents Club last year, I thought to myself, I love theatre, I want the chance to still be able to do it, while I've still got my marbles."

Tributes flow around NRL world after premiership-winner announces retirement
NRL fans and pundits are paying tribute to Chad Townsend after the veteran halfback confirmed he'll retire at season's end. The 34-year-old took to social media on Tuesday to announce the news, which ws expected but never officially confirmed until now. 'It's hard to put into words what this game means to me,' Townsend wrote over a photo with his family. 'I'd like to thank the Yarrawarrah Tigers for giving me an opportunity to fall in love with this game. The memories and friendships I created at my junior club still live with me today and I am very grateful for that. 'To the teams I played for, the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, New Zealand Warriors, North Queensland Cowboys and Sydney Roosters, I am forever grateful for the opportunity you gave me to fulfil my dreams of playing in the NRL. I'd like to thank all the fans who have showed love and support to me throughout my journey. I have always enjoyed connecting with people through our shared love of rugby league." He added: 'To all my teammates over the years, thank you for being there for me throughout the highs and lows that is the rollercoaster of the NRL. We shared some incredible memories together and this will be the thing I miss the most. To my coaches, football staff and club staff, thank you for all your support throughout my career. I have been lucky to work with some incredible people and build some great relationships. 'To my management, Gavin and Chris at Pacific Sports Management, we have shared a long journey together. Thank you for your guidance and support throughout my entire NRL career. 'To my beautiful wife Marissa and our kids Myra, Cairo, Miami and Malibu, thank you for your unwavering support throughout my career. You have been there through it all, on and off the field. Every win, every loss, we did it together. 'When I think about the young kid from Yarrawarrah who was footy obsessed, who just wanted to play footy with his mates, who stood on the family hill waving his flag, who had dreams of making it to the NRL and who had to earn everything he got, my heart and soul are filled with love and gratitude.' RELATED: Bulldogs rocked by potentially season-ending blow for star player Damning stat about Latrell amid calls for 'investigation' at Souths NRL world pays tribute to Chad Townsend's career Townsend spent the majority of his NRL career at Cronulla, playing 146 games for the Sharks and helping the club win their maiden premiership in 2016. He remains a cult hero amongst Sharks fans after playing halfback in that grand final victory over the vaunted Melbourne Storm. He also had two stints at the New Zealand Warriors, and played 70 gamed for North Queensland from 2022 to 2024. He signed a one-year deal with the Sydney Roosters for 2025, and it was widely expected to be his final season in the NRL. Townsend started the year as the Roosters' starting halfback, but was dropped to reserve grade in Round 6 after the emergence of Hugo Savala. The Roosters' singing of Townsend was largely around helping develop young halves Savala, Sandon Smith and Toby Rodwell. The 35-year-old was recalled to NRL level in Round 20 against Cronulla, but coach Trent Robinson later admitted it was a mistake after the Roosters' 31-18 loss. Altogether he's played 268 first-grade games, and represented the Prime Minister's XIII in 2018. He also played two games for the City Origin team before the concept was scrapped. Tributes have been flowing for Townsend on social media, with many praising his career of perseverance and determination. Logies 2025: MAFS, The Block, MKR and more stars not invited in major snub
The 65th Annual TV Week Logie Awards are exactly one week away, with the ceremony set to recognise some of the most popular actors, presenters, and television personalities for their work over the past year. The nominees include well-known names and programs across multiple networks and streaming services; however, not everyone has been invited to attend the prestigious event. Despite being some of the most recognisable faces on Australian TV and delivering enormous ratings for their respective shows, a large majority of reality TV participants have been snubbed. Here's which of your favourite reality stars you can expect to see on the red carpet next Sunday, and who will be watching from home. Married At First Sight While it was a guarantee in previous years that Married At First Sight participants would be in attendance, Jamie Marinos tells Yahoo Lifestyle that no one from this season's cast has received an invite. 'To be honest, I felt like there was all this talk that we were gonna get invited, but I just didn't trust it, so I actually booked a trip to Europe and I'm doing my own kind of publicity tour in London,' she shares. RELATED: Logies 2025 nominations break tradition with historic moment: 'Amazing' Gold Logie nominees reveal wild campaign strategies: 'Battalion' Radio star's explosive on-air outburst after Logies snub: 'Talentless losers' 'None of us were bloody invited. That's sad for everyone else at the Logies, because we know how to turn up at any kind of dinner party event. It's a shame because I know the rest of the cast probably would have been looking forward to it too. I would have loved to have gone to the Logies with everyone.' It's understood that relationship experts John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla will be in attendance to represent the show, which is what they did last year after the season 11 cast was also snubbed. The Block Similarly to MAFS, the teams from last year's milestone twentieth season of The Block also missed out on an invite, with Scott Cam, Shelley Craft, and the show's judges expected to attend in their place 'Unfortunately, we haven't received an invite to the Logies,' Ricky Recard tells us. 'If The Block bosses and Channel 9 can fit us on their invite list, I'm sure they will. With so many amazing people involved in the show, from Julian Cress, Scotty Cam, Shelley Craft and too many more for me to mention, it must be so hard to invite everyone along to such a special night.' Despite the 'snub', Ricky says he feels 'privileged' and 'incredibly grateful' to have been a part of the series, and he will be cheering the team on from home. 'I have no doubt the team will bring home the Logie for Best Competition Reality Program, and if they do, to be part of that I'll always hold close to my heart. I love my Block family,' he remarks. The Real Housewives of Sydney This year marks the first time The Real Housewives of Sydney have been nominated for the Logies; however, Victoria Montano tells us that none of the cast members have been invited. 'My understanding is that when the news broke, a few cast members contacted production to ask who was going to attend the Logies. I didn't contact production at all when the news broke - I was under no misconceptions about the fact they would prioritise themselves over the stars of the show. The ladies, who for almost no pay at all, open their lives to the public so that production can make money from our lives,' she shares. My Kitchen Rules Yahoo Lifestyle understands that none of the teams from the recent season of My Kitchen Rules have been asked to attend the Logies, and judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge will instead represent the series on the red carpet. This doesn't bother 2024 champion Simone Preste at all, as he will be busy working on his new business venture. 'We won't be able to attend the event as we'll be opening our second restaurant location at Westfield Chermside next week,' he tells us. 'But with all my heart, I hope MKR takes home the award, fingers crossed!' MasterChef MasterChef judges Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin will definitely be in attendance as they are both first-time nominees, with Poh up for the Gold Logie and Sofia up for Most Popular New Talent. Previous years have seen the show's most recent winner and runner-up in attendance; however, Josh 'Pezza' Perry says he hasn't been contacted. 'I hope they do well at the Logies. It was a great show to be a part of, but I only came second and [I'm] a guy from Tassie, so I'm forgotten about fairly fast, I think,' he tells us. 'But I like that because that's who l am and I probably didn't suit what they wanted.' Farmer Wants A Wife It's unknown who, if anyone, will be in attendance to support Farmer Wants A Wife, as host Natalie Gruzlewski hasn't walked the red carpet since 2014 and none of last year's farmers have been invited. 'I don't think I'm going; they haven't contacted me about it at all,' Farmer Bert Harris tells us. 'No doubt the producers will be the ones going!' Australian Survivor The same can be said for Australian Survivor, with Jonathan LaPaglia unlikely to attend after he was recently fired from the series, and winner Myles Kuah not on the guest list. 'I'm not going to the Logies, but I'm hopeful for a Survivor win,' he tells us. Australian Idol One reality star who will be walking the red carpet is this year's Australian Idol winner, Marshall Hamburger. The 19-year-old will be joined by the show's host, Ricki-Lee Coulter, who is nominated for Most Popular Presenter. 'I am honestly so excited to attend my first Logies ever, and a little nervous as well!' he tells us. 'I have to say I am very excited to hear Jimmy Barnes sing. I've never seen him perform live before, so seeing him in person is going to be a huge honour! I'm also excited to hopefully see some of the crew from Idol, such as Ricki-Lee, the judges, and the production crew as well. 'As for my outfit, I am stuck between an '80s style Farnham look, or a Bruno Mars Silk Sonic look! Who knows what I'll end up wearing though.' Travel Guides Also in attendance will be the cast of Channel 9's Travel Guides, who have won the Logie for Best Lifestyle Program three years running. Cast member and former Beauty and the Geek runner-up Bri Auty tells Yahoo Lifestyle she is hopeful the series will be able to take home another win. 'I'll be there with bells on,' she remarks. 'We got nominated again for Best Lifestyle Program, so hopefully we win again for the fourth year in a row. All of us will be there!' Bobby Lee Thinks ‘And Just Like That' Dropped Him Amid Show's Shift Away From ‘Woke Elements' in Season 3
"They tried to put minorities in, and — I don't know," the actor, who starred as Jackie Nee in the first two seasons, shares Bobby Lee, who is known for starring as Carrie Bradshaw's podcast cohost Jackie Nee in the first two seasons of 'And Just Like That,' said he believes his absence from the third season could be due to the show's effort to remove diversity from the series. 'Some of the woke elements of the show, they got rid of, and I think I was part of that,' Lee told Entertainment Weekly during an interview published Friday at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
