Rajinikanth expresses gratitude to fans as he completes 50 years in Indian cinema: ‘Gods who keep me alive'
Rajinikanth's statement read, 'My heartfelt thanks go to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP leader Nainar Nagendiran, my friend Annamalai, madam Sasikala, Dhinakaran, madam Premalatha, and to other friends in politics who complimented me on my 50-year journey in the film industry.' Rajinikanth also took the opportunity to thank his colleagues, including Kamal Haasan, Ilaiyaraaja, Mammootty, and Mohanlal. However, the most heartfelt part of his statement was dedicated to his fans, as he wrote: 'I also express my heartfelt thanks to my fans, who are the gods who keep me alive.'

However, the movie has hit a slump after its record-breaking opening and has witnessed a decline in its earnings since. With this, Coolie's 3-day total now stands at ₹ 144.04 crore. The total earnings will be revised later in the evening, once the figures for the night show are declared. Coolie Day 3 India Box Office Estimates: Rajinikanth crime-drama looks to do an excellent Rs 48 crore gross on 1st Saturday BUT...
Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and starring Rajinikanth had yet another excellent day at the India box office, grossing Rs 47-48 crore. These are excellent numbers but the trend is slightly worrisome. The movie opened to collections of Rs 75.50 crore, added Rs 63.50 crore on day 2 (Independence Day holiday) and is likely putting up Rs 47.50 crore on day 3, taking the 3 day cume to Rs 186.50 crore. Going by how it is doing, the Sunday collections are going to drop down to around Rs 40 crore, giving the movie a weekend of a little over Rs 225 crore.
