‘Peacemaker' Season 2 Trailer: John Cena Returns in James Gunn's New DC Universe With Cameos From Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl
Team Peacemaker is finally back.
John Cena's very R-rated DC superhero has returned in the first trailer for 'Peacemaker' Season 2, created by DC Studios co-chief James Gunn. The sophomore season takes place in the rebooted DC Universe, which officially kicked off with Gunn's animated series 'Creature Commando' and continues with his summer tentpole 'Superman.' Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner and Isabela Merced's Hawkgirl cameo in the trailer and will appear in 'Superman.'

The first 'Peacemaker' season released in 2022 on Max (back when it was called HBO Max) and was a spinoff of Gunn's 2021 'The Suicide Squad' movie. It stars Cena's patriotic mercenary Christopher Smith, who debuted as Peacemaker in 'The Suicide Squad,' as he starts working for the mysterious company A.R.G.U.S., the Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans. In Season 1, he investigates Project Butterfly and is tasked to kill off parasitic aliens that have taken over the minds of humans around the world.
The cast also includes Danielle Brooks, the daughter of Suicide Squad founder and A.R.G.U.S. leader Amanda Waller (Viola Davis); Freddie Stroma as the hapless crimefighter Vigilante; Steve Agee as A.R.G.U.S. agent John Economos; Jennifer Holland as A.R.G.U.S. agent Emilia Harcourt; Robert Patrick as August 'Auggie' Smith, Peacemaker's racist dad who also goes by the name White Dragon; Sol Rodriguez; Tim Meadows; and, of course, Peacemaker's beloved bird sidekick Eagly. Frank Grillo also stars as Rick Flag Sr. in Season 2 after originating the voice role in the animated 'Creature Commandos.' After Peacemaker killed his son Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) in 'The Suicide Squad,' there will surely be some unfinished business between the senior Rick Flag and the mercenary.
'Peacemaker' Season 2 debuts on Max on Aug. 21 and will consist of eight episodes.

So, remember when that Superman toy leaked showing the Man of Steel a montrous Yeti? Some fans chalked it up to standard toyline nonsense, cool-looking figures with no real bearing on the movie. But it turns out... that snowy beast is very real. Thanks to a newly released children's tie-in book for Superman , we now have confirmation that the Abominable Snowman isn't just a one-off creature, it's part of a whole tribe of them. And they live in the icy region surrounding the Fortress of Solitude. Here's the exact quote from the book: 'Abominable Snowmen live in the cold region around Superman's home, the Fortress of Solitude. Despite their difference in size, Krypto loves to chase these big creatures!' Picture Superman soaring through the skies while his super-powered dog bolts across the frozen tundra, gleefully chasing massive shaggy cryptids. It's a weird and wonderful little detail that totally tracks with what we know of James Gunn's approach to this new DC Universe, leaning fully into the more fantastical, sci-fi-heavy corners of the lore. And if you're a longtime comic fan, the idea of strange creatures lurking around the Fortress isn't new. Superman's comic book sanctuary has always been more than just an arctic man-cave. It's been a museum, a memorial, and even a sort of interplanetary zoo. In the Silver and Bronze Age stories, Superman kept endangered alien beasts in containment, often rescued from dying worlds. The book doesn't say it outright, but you have to wonder, are these Abominable Snowmen descendants of that old zoo? Did something escape containment years ago... and multiply? Whatever the case, it looks like the Fortress of Solitude isn't quite so solitary anymore.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WTAJ) — Have you ever wanted to be in a movie? Well, now might be your chance, as Amazon MGM is looking for extras to be in 'How to Rob A Bank' this summer. 'How to Rob A Bank' will film in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area from mid-June to August. Extras are needed to fill various roles, from bank customers to sports fans and even S.W.A.T. or FBI agents. It's important to note that all roles are non-speaking. According to the casting call, filming takes place 10-14 hours a day (sometimes shorter), so you must have full-day availability for the days you're hired for. Filming is mostly Monday through Friday, and anyone under 18 will adhere to shorter days based on child labor laws.'How to Rob A Bank' is an action-comedy that features Nicholas Hoult (X-Men franchise, Superman), Zoe Kravitz, Anna Sawai, Pete Davidson and Rhenzt Feliz. 'The Boys' just dropped an unhinged video poking fun at 'The Bear,' 'The Last of Us,' 'House of the Dragon' and itself
"The Boys" season 5 is still filming and is tentatively projected for a 2026 release window. But in the meantime, "The Boys" season 4 is campaigning for Emmy nominations, and it's doing it in a way that is as delightfully demented as the twisted superhero show itself. Titled "Acting for Awards Season," this for your consideration (FYC) video is a parody of "Masterclass" that stars "award-winning" director Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne), who directed the Vought Studios films "Dawn of the Seven" and 'Training A-Train.' In the video, the (entirely fictional) director lays out his guide to dominating awards season and makes fun of several very real shows along the way. None of these shows are explicitly named, but you can pretty easily spot most of them. First up? "Mare of Easttown," and its "Philadelphia accents," which get attacked at the 0:36 mark. Then it's on to skewering "Bridgerton" and its prolific amount of promiscuous people, while possibly also going after "Shogun" and its use of seppuku. Of course, "Game of Thrones" wasn't going to escape Bourke's razor wit. "Dragons. Cheesy as hell," the director declared, clearly taking aim at "House of the Dragon." "But banging your sister on a dragon? Jackpot!" Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. From there, we go into a brief musing on whether or not the stars of "The Bear" are qualified to speak on political issues like immigration before giving praise to "The Last of Us" season 1 for being "one-eighth gay." This is, of course, a reference to the season 1 episode "Long Long Time," which is possibly the best episode of any show ever. If you've never seen it, or you don't believe me, go watch it on Max right now, then come back and tell me I'm wrong. You won't be able to because, like Bourke in this video, you'll be too busy choking back sobs, having just watched an absolute masterpiece. Finally, "The Boys" took aim at itself, declaring you should "never do a superhero TV show." Granted, it then couldn't resist a parting shot at "Friday Night Lights," but it was still nice to see a moment of self-deprecating humor amongst the deluge of potshots at other acclaimed shows.
