ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has directed an increase in the prize pool for the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship to Dh3 million.This initiative reflects His Highness' commitment to nurturing athletic talent and empowering athletes to reach their full potential in a competitive environment that upholds the highest professional standards.The move also contributes to reinforcing jiu-jitsu's role as an effective tool for enhancing societal quality of life, given its positive impact on character building, discipline, mental well-being and physical fitness.Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, President of the Ju-Jitsu Asian Union and Senior Vice President of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation, has expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed for this generous gesture, which reflects His Highness' commitment and close attention to the growth and advancement of the sport in the UAE.Al Hashmi added that the initiative places greater responsibility on the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation's board of directors to translate this support into impactful programmes that inspire athletes to develop their skills and provide optimal conditions for achieving sustainable athletic and social success.He noted that jiu-jitsu has evolved beyond being a competitive sport; it has become a way of life that contributes to public health and promotes sports culture as a means to elevate well-being within the UAE community.Al Hashmi also highlighted the championship's progression into a national initiative that reinforces Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for combat sports and strengthens its social impact and presence, reflecting the UAE's commitment to fostering and developing niche sports and expanding its international presence among the premier events on the global sporting calendar.

We believe that proper development begins with the customer, who is best positioned to identify challenges and propose practical solutions based on their daily experience."In this context, Customer Councils serve as a key tool for direct engagement, identifying areas for improvement, and adopting proposals that simplify procedures and reduce administrative burdens on customers, in alignment with the 'Zero Bureaucracy' programme, thereby contributing to the UAE Government's journey toward global leadership in delivering services that meet and exceed customer expectations.'He added that the ministry launched the 'Sportifai' digital transformation platform, which primarily aims to digitise processes and accelerate their completion to facilitate access to services. The platform also provides data to all sports entities in the country and connects them within a unified ecosystem, utilising the latest technologies based on artificial intelligence and precise this integration of direct engagement and digital transformation, we aim to offer a seamless, equitable, and flexible experience for all users, while also enhancing service efficiency to support the future of Emirati sports.'The 'Customer Councils' are one of several innovative government tools designed to enhance communication with stakeholders. It provides an open and inclusive platform for exchanging ideas, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities for the Council, dedicated teams within the Ministry of Sports responsible for service development and bureaucracy reduction began reviewing the proposals and feedback submitted by federation representatives. These are being prioritised for implementation to support operational excellence and raise service quality across the Councils are part of the Ministry's broader efforts to enhance user experiences, streamline administrative procedures, reduce documentation, and expand access to efficient, tech-enabled sports services supported by technology and AI. The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy has charted a course for the adventure with its 'Nokhatha Abu Dhabi' programme, set to launch on June the programme, participants will learn the basics of dhow sailing, navigation, and seamanship. The initiative aims to promote the culture of traditional sailing among the youth and strengthen their connection with the UAE's maritime heritage. It will run for two months and is expected to attract over 200 participants, including sailors and sailing enthusiasts. 'Nokhatha Abu Dhabi is more than just a training programme,' Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy, told Aletihad . 'It is a cultural journey that seeks to pass down the rich maritime knowledge inherited from our ancestors to younger generations.' From reading wind patterns and understanding currents to mastering sail handling and dhow leadership, participants will acquire key skills that prepare them for competitive heritage races and potential inclusion in professional marine sports teams in the future.'Through hands-on training in sailing traditional dhows and exploring the secrets of the sea, participants will gain a deeper appreciation of our history and identity,' Al Suwaidi technical skills, the programme instils core values rooted in Emirati maritime tradition, such as teamwork, patience, commitment, and respect for elders, he are life skills to be learned, too – from leadership and discipline to problem –solving in dynamic environments, effective communication, and competencies not only contribute to their sporting success but also shape resilient, responsible individuals capable of meeting academic and professional challenges with confidence.
