Noel Edmonds' Kiwi Adventure series has been axed.

The 76-year-old TV star was hoping that the initial three-parter - which centred on his new life in New Zealand with his wife Liz - would be commissioned for a longer run, but ITV has already decided to axe the show amid modest viewing figures.

A TV source told The Sun newspaper: "It's a blow to Noel as he was convinced he was on to a winning idea.

"There was a great buzz around the series and it was well received by both viewers and critics alike.
"But it needed big numbers to spark a follow-up and attracting 1-1.5 million per episode just wasn't enough."
Noel reportedly believes that other factors have influenced ITV's decision.

A source close to Noel shared: "River Haven has been hit badly by flooding, it's made working on the estate almost impossible.
"That would have meant filming would have been seriously hampered."
The insider added: "As far as Noel is concerned, the show has been put on ice."

Earlier this year, Noel explained that he owes his life in New Zealand to his appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
The veteran TV presenter and his wife Liz were inspired to move to the country after he exited the ITV show in 2018.
Noel told the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column: "I was in Australia on I'm A Celebrity and I got voted out a bit quickly.

"As part of the arrangement, ITV organised for us to visit New Zealand. That trip cemented things for us. In 2019, we sold everything in the UK.
"We left Heathrow for rented accommodation in the UK, knowing absolutely no one. It was quite bold."
Noel also rubbished comparisons between his show and Clarkson's Farm.

He told The Sun newspaper: "When we were filming our show, some people who knew about Clarkson's Farm said to me, 'Oh, is it like Clarkson's Farm?'
"And I said, 'No, it couldn't be more different.' First of all, I'm not like Jeremy in many ways, though I wish I were.
"He's brilliant. He can articulate an argument beautifully and deliver a sharp, humorous line like no one else."

TV fans gobsmacked as Hetty Wainthropp Investigates stars reunite decades after show ended

Fans of the small screen were stunned to see the lead stars of iconic BBC crime drama Hetty Wainthropp Investigates reunite together decades after their show ended TV fans were blown away when Hollywood star Dominic Monaghan took his social media followers for a walk down memory lane as he reunited with an old small screen co-star. While the 48-year-old actor is best known for playing Merry Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, he has a past as a TV sweetheart. ‌ And one of his biggest hits on the box was playing Geoffrey Shawcross in the classic BBC cosy crime show Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. The series, which aired from 1996 until 1998 starred Dame Patricia Routledge in the lead role. ‌ On Saturday, Dominic took to Instagram to share a selfie of himself with his 96-year-old co-star. The pair looked in good spirits as they posed for the camera and smiled towards the lens. It comes as ITV axes Noel Edmonds' big TV comeback after just one series. ‌ Dominic sported short cropped hair, had a bit of designer stubble, and appeared casual in a simple black top. While Dame Patricia looked regal in a green jacket, white top and with jewellery on display. Sharing the snap on his main grid, Dominic shared his appreciation, admiration and respect for his elder co-star. In a touching note, he wrote: "25 YEARS later! So wonderful to see Dame Patricia." ‌ Detailing their continuing friendship, he wrote: "We always shared a love of acting, of actors, of the natural world and all of the curiosities of life, it was fantastic to spend a couple of hours doing the same! She still tells fantastic stories, loves great food and wine, and as always is sharp as a tack, with fantastic skin and style." Dominic continued: "She taught me so much, and continues to do so, aging with a class and quality I hope to emulate." He rounded out his post, typing: "#hettywainthroppinvestigates forever!" and added the hashtag: "#becurious." ‌ The update stunned Dominic's followers - and fans of Dame Patricia and her backcatalogue of work. Many took to the comments section to share their joy over the charming snap. One thrilled fan typed:" This is the best!! I loved you two in Hetty Wainthrop! You had such a good relationship on screen." And another, gushing over Dame Patricia, wrote: "So absolutely lovely to see someone aging as they should, naturally. Far more beautiful than all these plastic celebrities." ‌ The appearance of the iconic TV star prompted many others to recall some of there other work - notably her role in the legendary sitcom, Keeping Up Appearances. One wrote: "Hyacinth Bucket was such an institution in my childhood home and then watching Hetty Wainthrop Investigates as a teen made Patricia Routledge a stable in my life in a whole new way. (And yes, I think we all had crushes on you)." And another, in reference to the script of the sitcom, typed: "Did she bring her sister Violet. She's the one with the Mercedes, sauna and room for a pony…" Keeping Up Appearances ran on the BBC from 1990 until 1995 and was a ratings smash - pulling in over 16 million viewers. Dame Patricia has scaled back her acting in recent years, but has still appeared on-screen - most recently in 2024 where she featured in a special documentary about Keeping Up Appearances in which she reflected on her time on the show.

Maya Jama 'offered millions for Love Island as Netflix tries to poach her

Love Island host Maya Jama could reportedly secure a lucrative deal for ITV's longtime reality show hit to prevent losing her to rivals like Netflix. The twist-filled, sunny dating show just wrapped up for another year, and the show seems to be on the up and up with some fans hailing it 'the best season ever' and their viewing figures hitting 2.5 million – higher than it has been in years. A large part of this recent success coincides with the 30-year-old host taking over as the presenter in 2023 (after it experienced all-time lows of 1.3m viewers), not only revitalising the format but also gaining 3.2m followers along the way. As such, a source told The Sun's Biz on Sunday column that ITV has paid out to make sure she sticks around. The insider said: 'Maya is a huge hit with fans and the bosses. ITV are desperate not to lose her. They're acutely aware that she's being offered lucrative work with other companies, such as Netflix. She's hugely in demand. 'Maya is proud to be part of Love Island, and bosses want her to continue with the series for the All Stars and summer format. 'It is still early days but bosses are preparing an extremely good package for Maya that she would find hard to turn down.' The package is reportedly set to include a pay cheque of £800,000 to host the main summer series plus another £800k to host the All stars. That's a told of £1.6million. On top of this, she would be paid extra for hosting After Sun. The star clearly still has a lot of love for the show as she took to social media to celebrate Toni and Cach's victory in last week's live final. 'We are one of the few shows to do our finals live and I'm so grateful for the trust because it gives so much room for silliness and iconic moments, you truly never know what will happen and I had so much fun,' she wrote in a heartfelt post. More Trending Outside of her professional life, romance is also blossoming for the TV personality as she firmly put her relationship with Stormzy, and a high-profile break-up, in the past. In June, she was seen on a very lovey-dovey holiday with her boyfriend, Portuguese footballer Ruben Dias whom she was first linked in November. View More » Love Island is available to stream on ITVX.
