The 25 chartered cars are then ranked by entrant points and, at the end of this season, the top 22 eligible entries will be paid $1.2 million or more by Penske Entertainment throughout the 2026 season.

Brewers Just Set up the Most Highly Anticipated Pitching Matchup of the Season Against Pirates
Brewers Just Set up the Most Highly Anticipated Pitching Matchup of the Season Against Pirates originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Pitching matchups between highly touted players happen quite often. Opening Day is filled with elite pitchers going toe-to-toe as teams line up their aces right out of the gate. Rarely though, during the middle of the season, do we get a matchup of starting pitchers so juicy, so intriguing, it draws the attention of the entire league as soon as the probable starters were announced. Advertisement That's exactly what's coming this week between the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon at American Family Field. It'll be reigning NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes on the mound for the Pirates against flamethrowing rookie Jacob Misiorowski for the Brewers. ' © Jesse Johnson-Imagn Images Paul Skenes vs Jacob Misiorowski The Brewers and Pirates announced their probable starters for the next series on Sunday and just like many had projected for the last week, the two pitchers with perhaps the most electric stuff in baseball will be pitching in the same game. Skenes has a 1.85 ERA on the season with 106 strikeouts. His fastball averages 98 MPH and he's hit triple-digits 28 times this season. He's coming off a runaway Rookie of the Year campaign and All Star start after being the #1 overall pick in the 2023 Draft. Advertisement Misiorowski didn't allow a hit for his first 11 IP in the majors and has already thrown 52 pitches north of 100 MPH. He's already sending his hat to the Baseball Hall of Fame and has set an MLB record for longest stretch without allowing a hit to start a career as a starting pitcher. Skenes is in the 100th percentile in the league in Pitching Run Value and the 99th percentile in Fastball Run Value. Misiorowski is 100th percentile in extension and 99th percentile in Fastball Velocity. While Misiorowski doesn't have the MLB volume that Skenes does to qualify in other stats, it doesn't take some of those numbers to know the quality of stuff. You'd have trouble finding two pitchers in Major League Baseball with more electric stuff than these two. Getting both of them against each other in the same game will be appointment television for baseball fans everywhere, not just in Milwaukee and Pittsburgh. Advertisement It'll be a Wednesday afternoon getaway game to wrap up the series between the Brewers and Pirates, but no one will be able to get their eyes away from this game with these two masters of their craft on the bump. Nets' D'Angelo Russell is really high on Spurs' Victor Wembanyama
The Brooklyn Nets are still early in their offseason and many of the players are enjoying their summers before they have to come back to Brooklyn to try to improve on the 26-56 record from this season. D'Angelo Russell has been taking full advantage of his time off by touring China as part of his signature shoe promotion, but he also took the time to talk about an upcoming great NBA player. "Victor Wembanyama... He's slick. I'm telling y'all now, I'm putting this on air. Remember, I gave him his flowers last time," Russell said of San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama during the latest episode of his "The Backyard Podcast" show. Russell's podcast is not only for him to talk about what's on his mind, but also acts as a vlog of sorts that shows what he is doing behind the scenes. Advertisement "This is a big statement. If they (the NBA) ever change the logo, it might be him," Russell continued while speaking about Wembanyama. "He's that special... I'm just really high on Victor Wembanyama. I think he's really special." Wembanyama, 21, is considered one of the players in the "up-and-coming" tiers usually attributed to young players that have the appearance of someone destined for stardom and he hasn't disappointed thus far. Wembanyama, the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is not only boasting career averages of 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.7 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 33.9% from three-point land, but he has always made waves in the league in terms of his accomplishments. Wembanyama, listed at 7-foot-3 and 235 pounds, was the Rookie of the Year for the 2023-24 season while being named to the All-Defensive First Team, is a one-time All-Star, and has led the NBA in blocks per game the past two seasons. Russell is a free-agent this summer and while he has spoken about wanting to come back to Brooklyn, there could be a chance that he signs with the Spurs considering his feelings about Wembanyama's future. Alex Palou Breaks Mini Drought and Races to Victory in XPEL Grand Prix at Road America
Alex Palou's dominance in the 2025 INDYCAR season took a brief pause after he won the Indianapolis 500. He was knocked out of the race at the Detroit Grand Prix early and finished eighth at the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 last week. That ended up being the end of Palou's drought. He raced to victory again on Sunday, finishing first in the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America. Felix Rosenqvist finished second and Santino Ferrucci finished third. Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Armstrong rounded out the top five, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Scott Dixon held the lead late in Sunday's race. But he had to go to pit road with two laps remaining, allowing Palou to regain the lead. Palou led for six of the 55 laps on Sunday, while Dixon finished ninth after leading for 27 laps. Sunday's win marked Palou's sixth victory in nine INDYCAR races this season. He sang "Red Solo Cup" right after the victory, too. There were also plenty of cautions in Sunday's race. Spin-outs and crashes forced Josef Newgarden, Sting Ray Robb and Robert Shwartzman to not finish the race. Christian Lundgaard, meanwhile, spun out late in Sunday's race, causing a caution as he fell out of the leader's pack to finish 24th. Here's a full look at Sunday's leaderboard: 1. Alex Palou2.
