660 petitions received at PGRS in Anantapur
District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar directed officials to resolve petitions with utmost priority, quality, and transparency, ensuring public satisfaction.
The event, organised at the Revenue Bhavan, saw participation from people across various mandals. Petitions were received by the Collector, DRO A Malola, Assistant Collector Sachin Rahar, Deputy Collectors Tippa Nayak, Mallikarjuna, Anand, and Agriculture Officer Umamaheswaramma.
The Collector instructed officials to clear pending petitions from the CMO, Deputy CMO, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs within SLA timelines and avoid delays. He emphasized providing clear endorsements for unresolved petitions and mentioned that IVRS feedback is closely monitored by the Chief Minister's Office.
He also directed authorities to arrange drinking water and medical camps at Secretariat counseling centers and address issues faced by women staff. Grievance counters should be set up for additional support. MPDOs must supervise these centers daily and report updates via Excel sheets. Officials were asked to resolve at least one court case per day and prioritize contempt cases. Special attention is to be given to pension and ration distribution in July, and all promotion or vacancy-related files for July–August must be submitted promptly.
During a review meeting, the Collector instructed district officers and Special Deputy Collectors to personally inspect and resolve at least one PGRS petition each week. Failure to do so will result in showcause notices.
He stressed maintaining proper documentation, sharing endorsements via WhatsApp, and wearing ID cards during grievance programs. Outstanding performers will be recognized monthly.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday called the state government's 5,000 MW solar agriculture feeder scheme as his "dream project", and said its success will significantly contribute to energy sustainability and rural empowerment. He directed the agencies to expedite the implementation of the ' Mukhyamantri Solar Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 ', and ensure the state achieves its target of 5,000 MW solar power generation by September 2025. Speaking at a high-level review meeting, Fadnavis said, "This is my dream project. There should be no delays at any level. Time-bound and well-coordinated execution is critical." The meeting was convened to review land availability and other related issues in the scheme, a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said. Stressing the need for close coordination between local bodies and developers for the smooth implementation of solar feeder projects on both government and private land, the chief minister said the district-level task forces must regularly monitor the progress of the project and remove bottlenecks. No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and clearances must be issued promptly. Issues faced by developers should be resolved on priority to avoid delays, he asked the officials. Work related to land leasing, removal of crop and permanent encroachments, road realignment, and land demarcation must be done promptly by the district collectors. Police must act swiftly in cases of theft of solar equipment. Adequate precautions must be taken while working in densely-populated areas and during tree cutting, following all environmental guidelines, he said. The forest department should expedite necessary permissions for solar lines passing through forest land and adjacent areas, he said. PTI

‘BC bill can pass in an hour if Modi, Rahul are sincere'
Hyderabad: BRS senior leader B Vinod Kumar today asserted that the Backward Classes Bill could be passed in Parliament within one hour if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi demonstrated sincerity in their approach. Addressing a press conference, Vinod Kumar noted the significant discussion underway in the state regarding the increase in BC reservations. He mentioned that the Chief Minister and ministers have decided to go to Delhi and hold a dharna in the cabinet for the approval of the BC Bill. Amidst public debate on whether local elections will proceed, Vinod Kumar stated, 'We already know that when there is a BC Bill and an ordinance on the same issue, the ordinance will never be approved. Why are the Congress and BJP trying to deceive the BCs?' He reiterated that the Supreme Court, in the Indira Sawhney case, ruled that reservations should not exceed 50 per cent, concluding that 'it is not possible to increase reservations if it is not included in the ninth schedule.' The BRS leader highlighted that the inclusion of key items in the Ninth Schedule began a year after the Constitution came into force, under the premiership of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru. 'Our argument is that the increase in BC reservations should be included in the Ninth Schedule from the very beginning,' Vinod Kumar explained. 'Yesterday, our BC leaders also said the same. If Modi and Rahul want, the increase in reservations can be approved in Parliament within an hour. Modi has no sincerity. Rahul Gandhi will not ask,' he alleged, adding that Rahul Gandhi, as Leader of the Opposition, could introduce a Private Bill for BC reservations in Parliament. Vinod Kumar further stated that if Article 243D of the Constitution is amended, BC reservations can be increased. 'If Modi is sincere, this can be done,' he asserted. He maintained that BC reservations cannot be increased through Government Orders (GOs) and ordinances. He recalled that in the past, KCR had sent an Assembly Resolution to the Centre to increase reservations for BCs in the legislatures. Vinod Kumar suggested that the resolution sent by KCR and the bill sent by Revanth Reddy could be discussed and approved in Parliament, adding that Revanth Reddy does not need to hold dharnas in Delhi. Instead, he could engage with Rahul Gandhi and collectively increase pressure on Modi.

Monthly review system to strengthen governance
New Delhi: In a move aimed at tightening administrative control and ensuring better implementation of government schemes, the Delhi government on Tuesday has mandated monthly performance reviews across all departments. The decision is part of a broader initiative to enhance transparency, speed up development work, and strengthen oversight at every level of governance. Under the new directive, departmental heads will be required to submit a monthly report to the Chief Minister's Office by the 28th of each month. The report must outline the status of ongoing programs, achievements, coordination needs with other departments, and any internal or external challenges that may be slowing progress. The government believes this step will bring greater clarity to the functioning of departments and make it easier to identify delays or issues in execution. It will also help in tracking the actual impact of various schemes and ensuring accountability from officials. Weekly review meetings chaired by the Chief Minister every Monday will continue as before. These meetings focus on the overall performance of different departments and the implementation of key schemes. In the most recent review on July 28, a case of financial irregularities worth ₹175 crore was detected in the Barapullah Elevated Project. The Chief Minister promptly ordered an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Branch, demonstrating a strong stance on accountability. The administration is also maintaining a tight schedule of governance meetings are being held every Tuesday to evaluate scheme effectiveness and policy implementation. These regular engagements, combined with the newly introduced monthly reporting mechanism, are expected to significantly improve inter-departmental coordination and decision-making. In a related directive issued last month, Divisional Commissioner Neeraj Semwal instructed all District Magistrates (DMs).
