Seema Pahwa says she might have to bid goodbye to the film industry as it's now run by businessmen: 'They have murdered creative people'
Seema Pahwa
is one of the most known faces in the industry as she's been around for many years and been a part of some memorable projects. However, in a recent interview, Seema has admitted that she has diverted herself to
theatre
lately as she sees less scope of work for actors like her within the industry. She also slammed the industry for the fact that the creative people are now murdered and only businessmen are running it. She admitted that soon she might have to bid farewell to it.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Thikana, Seema shared, "Mujh lag raha hai bahi jaldi namaste karni padege
film industry
ki (I think I will have to say goodbye to the industry every soon). The condition is very bad of the industry and in a way they have murdered creative people in the industry. It has been completely taken over by businessmen. They want to keep this industry alive with their business mind. I don't think, we who have worked for so many years in the industry, can sustain this mindset."
She added, 'I understand they want to earn money and that's why maybe they don't need people like us. They calls us purane log (old fashioned people) and tell us, 'Your thought process is very old.' They argue with us that an actor makes a film work. According to them only commercial things make a film work."
Pahwa said that actors like her do not get the kind of respect or work that they deserve. "If you make good
low budget films
, at least 2 out of 5 will work. But they only want to stick to the same old formula that people are rejecting. OTT has its own issues. I have diverted myself to theatre. I don't think we will get the respect that we deserve in films or the sort of work we deserve,' she said.
Seema
is known for her work like the popular television show 'Hum Log', Hip Hip Hurray' and in recent times movies like 'Bareily Ki Barfi', 'Aankhon Dekhi', 'Badhaai Do', 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' among others.

RJ Karishma talks about characters, content, and creativity: "Comedy runs in the blood.."
With her endearing characters, unmatched comic timing , and everyday relatability, Karishma Gangwal, or popularly known as RJ Karishma , has emerged as one of the most beloved content creators. She started her professional journey as a radio presenter, but gradually, she found her calling in front of the camera. Her storytelling skills via multiple relatable characters have garnered a lot of appreciation. And now with her OTT debut, ' Bright भविष्य Loading ,' she has unfolded another chapter of her life. Speaking about the same, in an exclusive interview with us, she spilled the beans on juggling with multiple characters, her inspiration, and the support system. Highlighting how seamlessly she switches between multiple characters in the series, Karishma said, 'When I was 5 years old, I used to wear my mom's sarees and act in front of the mirror. Now, I feel like these things helped me prepare. Plus, all my characters have their inspiration from real people. So just mentally picturing them helps me play these roles.' From radio jockeying to digital content creation Speaking about her transition, Karishma said, 'It's been such an unexpected but fulfilling journey. I started as an RJ, and in the pandemic, I experimented with content creation. At first, I was hesitant and wasn't sure how people would react. However, the very first video I made hit a million views within 3 days.' She continued, 'I was so glad to know that people wanted to know more about the stories I was telling. From there on, being a full-time creator was always on the cards and today I'm so happy to be living my dream both on and off the camera.' As we spoke further, she enlightened us about her creative process that entails gratitude, passion, and teamwork. 'This doesn't feel like a job to me. I wake up every morning, grateful that I'm doing what I'm passionate about. Hence, switching between these roles is only a pleasure,' she mentioned, and then continued, 'Apart from this, I have a team that fills every gap and makes sure that there are consistent solutions whenever we have a brand on board.' 'I'm not the kind of person who locks herself in a room and thinks of ideas. I get my inspiration from the people around me, and that's why I keep moving out and about. Don't be surprised if we meet and after that you see a character that vaguely resembles you on my feed,' she laughed. Further, when asked who or what inspires her comedic style and storytelling approach, she had the most endearing reply - 'Believe it or not, but 'Comedy' runs in the blood of every family member of mine.' 'I hope someday you get to meet them and experience this yourself. Every single line in the simplest conversation is hilarious. When I was a kid, I used to love watching Amitji in KBC. His comedic delivery with the poker face is something I love, and I occasionally try to include it in my content,' she concluded.

OTT partner threatens ₹10 crore cut for the delay in the release of Dhanush starrer 'Kuberaa', reveals producer
'Kuberaa,' a high-profile pan-Indian socio-drama directed by Sekhar Kammula , is set to hit theatres on June 20, 2025. Featuring an ensemble cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil , the film was initially slated for an April release but faced delays due to post-production demands. Shot in both Tamil and Telugu, with dubbed versions in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, 'Kuberaa' promises to be a gritty exploration of power, ambition, and consequence. Producer alleges ₹10 crore threat from Prime Video However, producer Suniel Narang has raised serious concerns about the growing influence of OTT platforms on theatrical schedules. In a recent interview with Gulte, Narang revealed that Amazon Prime Video, Kuberaa's streaming partner allegedly threatened to slash their deal by ₹10 crore if the film wasn't released on the pre-agreed date of June 20. This, he says, reflects a troubling shift in power where digital platforms now dictate release timelines. Post-production plea rejected by OTT Partner Suniel Narang shared that despite requesting a few extra weeks due to post-production delays, the platform was unwilling to budge. 'I requested a July date, but they said they'd deduct ₹10 crore if we missed the June 20 release. It all goes according to their will now,' he said. According to Narang, Telugu films typically land on OTT within 28–30 days, giving producers little room to maneuver when delays occur. Will the digital release of 'Kuberaa' be affected? Suniel Narang further voiced frustration about the industry's dependency on external platforms. 'People talk about cutting actors' pay. Why should we? Out of 145 crore people, we have barely 50 superstars. They are gods. The problem isn't them—it's everything else. These other entities profit regardless of whether a film succeeds or not,' he added, hinting at a deeper imbalance in today's filmmaking ecosystem. We have to wait to see whether Suniel Narang's revelation about the OTT partner's quarrel will affect the film's digital release or not.

I love seeing Sonakshi in negative roles: Zaheer Zaheer loved Sonakshi's portrayal of the scheming Mallikajaan in Heeramandi. Zaheer gushed, 'I love seeing Sonakshi in negative roles, especially in a series like Heeramandi. I think she looks damn cool. Also, she has an eye for those characters.
