na Grande and Josh Gad to star in Dr. Seuss' Oh, the Places You'll Go! animated musical
Produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, the Warner Bros. Pictures Animation film is scheduled to debut in IMAX theatres on March 17, 2028.
Directed by Jon M. Chu and Jill Culton, the feature will bring to life the 1990 children's classic that explores a young adventurer's journey through life's highs and lows.
The screenplay is written by Rob Lieber, while original songs are being crafted by songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Chu, known for his work on Universal's Oscar-winning adaptation of Wicked, reunites with Grande, who portrayed Glinda in the film. The second Wicked instalment, Wicked: For Good, is due out this November.
Josh Gad, widely recognised for voicing Olaf in Disney's Frozen, will not only star in but also produce Amazon's Spaceballs 2.
Warner Bros. is investing significantly in Dr. Seuss properties. Prior to Oh, the Places You'll Go!, The Cat in the Hat—voiced by Bill Hader—is set for release on February 27, 2026.

‘Project Hail Mary' sends Ryan Gosling, and Comic-Con, into outer space
SAN DIEGO: Comic-Con attendees got their first glimpse Saturday at the new sci-fi space thriller 'Project Hail Mary,' starring Ryan Gosling, ahead of its arrival in US theaters in March 2026. Gosling was joined on a convention panel by directing duo Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, as well as screenwriter Drew Goddard and book author Andy Weir – whose previous novel 'The Martian' was also turned into an Oscar-nominated film starring Matt Damon. Based on Weir's 2021 book of the same title, 'Project Hail Mary' follows astronaut Ryland Grace (Gosling), a science teacher waking up to learn he was recruited for a space mission to save Earth from an existential solar threat. Gosling described his character as 'a scared guy who has to do something impossible.' 'I knew it would be brilliant, because it's Andy [Weir],' Gosling told the crowd. 'It took me places I've never been. It showed me things I had never seen. It was as heartbreaking as it was funny and I was… not just blown away, but also overwhelmed.' Weir for his part said it was 'so cool' to see his book come to life and complimented Gosling for giving 'many layers to this character I made up.' Lord and Miller, the Oscar-winning duo behind the 'Spider-Verse' Spider-Man animated films, talked about the challenges of shooting a 'crazy ambitious' film which takes place inside a spaceship for the most part. 'We had to build an entire spaceship in two modes of gravity, and then we built this entire massive tunnel at scale,' Miller said. 'This is insane, to build a tunnel that was like 100 feet (30 meters) long, filled up an entire stage.' The event also showcased various clips from the film, receiving a positive response from fans, who noted the bond formed between Gosling's character and an alien named Rocky. 'The relationship between these two characters is the heart of the movie,' Miller said. 'I loved it,' attendee April Rodriguez, who also read the book, gushed about the film. 'I just never, like, envisioned it that way. So that was pretty cool.' Urdu version of lauded play comes to capital
The Chand Nagar Cultural Centre is proud to announce the first-ever Pakistani adaptation of a Pulitzer Prize-winning stage play, "Doubt: A Parable", which is being performed on July 26 and 27 at the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Auditorium in Islamabad. This production is the Urdu translation of the play by John Patrick Shanley, translated by the director and theatre educator Imran Iftikhar and Adil Yousaf. Iftikhar expressed his excitement and gratitude, for being granted permission to adapt and stage this masterpiece. "I'm sharing this news with immense pride and gratitude that I've been formally granted permission by John Patrick Shanley — the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Academy Award-winning screenwriter — to translate, adapt and stage his masterpiece theatre play, Doubt: A Parable, for the Islamabad audience in Urdu," he shared. The play, "Doubt: A Parable", was written by American playwright John Patrick Shanley in 2004. It was adapted into a mystery thriller film titled "Doubt" in 2008, starring Hollywood's renowned actress Meryl Streep. The film received critical acclaim and showcased the powerful story and themes of the play. "Doubt: A Parable" explores the complexities of human nature, delving into themes of faith, doubt, power and morality. Set in a small-town school in Punjab, the play raises questions about truth, silence and the grey areas in between. With its suspenseful plot and impactful characters, this production promises to be a thought-provoking experience for the audience. Imran Iftikhar further added, "This is not just a milestone for me as a director and translator but a historic moment for Pakistani theatre. To my knowledge, this is the first time a Pulitzer Prize-winning play is being officially produced in Pakistan. Bringing this globally acclaimed work to our local stage is a huge responsibility — and an opportunity to elevate the standards of theatre productions in the region." Julie Bowen's first reaction to Happy Gilmore 2 script
Julie Bowen is opening up about her unexpected storyline in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 comedy classic. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the Emmy-winning actress revealed her reaction upon learning her character, Virginia Venit, dies within the first few minutes of the film. Bowen, 55, reprises her role as Virginia, who in the sequel is now married to Happy Gilmore, played once again by Adam Sandler. The couple has five children together — but the family moment is short-lived. Just minutes into the film, Virginia is struck and killed by a golf ball hit by her husband during a tournament. "When I found out that I was killed on page 12, I started laughing," Bowen told PEOPLE. She explained she was on vacation with limited phone access when she read the script. "I only had my phone, and I was like, 'Am I seeing this right?' Trying to blow it up," she recalled. Despite the abrupt ending for her character, Bowen embraced the twist with humor. "I go, 'I don't care. It's great. Happy can't be happy,'" she joked, noting how Sandler tried to reach her during her trip to discuss the plot. Bowen said she was honored to be included in the sequel, even with a limited on-screen role. "It's just fun to be part of the whole thing," she shared. "Of course, why would I not want to be part of Happy Gilmore, whether I'm a big part, a little part." She also praised Sandler's commitment to bringing back original cast members, calling it important to him. Though Virginia dies early in the story, Bowen revealed that her character remains central through Happy's emotional journey.
