Johnny Depp open to Pirates of the Caribbean 6 return on one condition

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 remains in development, but producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Johnny Depp is open to returning as Captain Jack Sparrow—if the script is to his liking.
The franchise began as a Disneyland attraction before achieving worldwide success with Gore Verbinski's 2003 film The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Depp's portrayal of Sparrow became a defining element of the series, which saw Verbinski direct the next two sequels before different directors took over for the fourth and fifth films.
A sixth instalment has faced delays since 2018 due to creative changes, script rewrites, and Depp's high-profile legal dispute with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp was dropped from the role during the controversy, but after the trial concluded with a jury finding Heard liable for defamation, public perception shifted.
During the trial, Depp had said 'nothing on this earth' would make him return to the role, 'even if Disney presented me with $300 million and a million alpacas.'
However, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bruckheimer revealed that the actor is willing to discuss a comeback.
'If he likes the way the part's written, I think he would do it. It's all about what's on the page, as we all know,' Bruckheimer said.
He also confirmed Pirates 6 will be a reboot but expressed his preference for Depp's involvement. 'If it was up to me, he would be in it. I love him. He's a good friend. He's an amazing artist and he's a unique look. He created Captain Jack,' Bruckheimer noted, recalling Depp's unique blend of influences in shaping the character.

Gal Gadot gets candid about Disney's 'Snow White' box office failure amid political pressure

Gal Gadot has said that political pressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel contributed to the disappointing box office performance of Disney's live-action Snow White. The actress, who played the Evil Queen opposite Rachel Zegler, spoke on Israeli programme The A Talks, where she reflected on the film's commercial failure. 'First of all, I have to say that I really enjoyed filming this movie,' Gadot said. 'I even enjoyed working with Rachel Zegler. We laughed, we talked and it was fun. I was sure that this movie was going to be a huge success.' However, Gadot noted that events following October 7 had a direct impact. 'What's happening in all kinds of industries, and also in Hollywood, is that there's a lot of pressure on celebrities to speak out against Israel. I was disappointed that the movie was greatly affected by that and didn't do well at the box office.' Gadot, who previously served in the Israeli Defence Forces, has faced criticism internationally. Lebanon banned Wonder Woman in 2017 over her military service, while her latest projects have also drawn protests. Earlier this year, filming of The Runner in London was disrupted, and her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was postponed following demonstrations. Meanwhile, Rachel Zegler, who has been vocal in her support for Palestine, is enjoying a career high as her rendition of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from Evita hit Number 1 on both the Official Vinyl and Physical Singles Charts, marking her second chart-topping release. Already a Golden Globe winner for West Side Story, the 24-year-old is earning acclaim across film, theatre and now music, with her live Palladium balcony performance hailed as 'theatrical moment of the summer.' Disney ultimately recorded an estimated $115 million loss on Snow White.

Daredevil: Born Again season two could be the last, says Charlie Cox

Actor Charlie Cox has suggested that the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again could mark the end of the Disney+ series. Speaking at GalaxyCon, the Daredevil star revealed that the latest season, which recently wrapped filming, includes a storyline element not found in the original Marvel Comics — a hint that the show may conclude. 'There's something we do in this final season that doesn't exist in the comics,' Cox told fans during the panel, fueling speculation about the show's future. His comments left some viewers disappointed, especially given that Daredevil: Born Again only debuted earlier this year as a reboot of the fan-favorite Netflix series. However, co-star Vincent D'Onofrio, who portrays Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, offered a different perspective. Responding to a fan on social media, D'Onofrio suggested there is 'a good chance' the series could continue into a third season, leaving the question open. Even if the Disney+ series concludes with season two, the character of Daredevil will remain active in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cox is set to reprise the role in the upcoming Spider-Man trilogy and future Avengers projects. In the comics, Daredevil frequently teams up with Spider-Man, indicating his storyline will extend beyond the streaming series. Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Kingpin in the MCU. While the character could continue appearing in other Marvel titles, his arc may wrap with Daredevil: Born Again or the forthcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2026, ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel fans will have to wait for official confirmation on whether season two will indeed be the last.
