Andrea McLean broke down in tears as she confirmed her move to Spain
Last night The Sun exclusively revealed Andrea was upping sticks and now she has opened up about her departure to fans.
Speaking from her home surrounded by boxes, she said: "I've had a bit of a shocker over the last few years, not only health wise but obviously my business failing."
Andrea then grew emotional as she said: "What is made me realise is, oh gosh, you only get one shot and you have to seize the day."
Her husband Nick then stepped in to give her a comforting hug.
She continued: "I've always wanted to live by the sea and in the sun, so that's what we're doing. The timing, of course, is not perfect. There's never a perfect moment.
"What I realised at the start of this year is you don't know how many moments you have left. You have to seize them."
Andrea's female empowerment brand, This Girl Is On Fire, was dissolved in February after failing to make money, despite a hefty investment from the sale of herSurrey home.
Around the same time the business was wound down, Andrea revealed she came terrifyingly close - just 24 hours - to dying after being struck down with pneumonia and sepsis.
Now she's seeking a fresh start and focusing on her writing career, having already published three bestsellers - This Girl Is On Fire, Confessions of a Good Girl and Confessions of a Menopausal Woman.
A source said: "It's been a tough couple of years and the business never financially recovered. Andrea made the decision to dissolve the business officially earlier this year.
"Now she's planning a new life in Spain with husband Nick [Feeney]. After she nearly died, Andrea's focused on what really matters - family and friends.
"She's in a really good place, positive, loved up with Nick still, her kids are all grown up so she's happy and making life work for her."
Loose Women star faints and is left with nasty black eye - hours after Lorraine Kelly sports shiner on TV
A television favourite for more than two decades, Andrea previously told how her endorsement deals dried up overnight when she announced she was quitting Loose Women to focus on her business.
Suddenly, the money she was planning on using to fund the early days of the brand disappeared.
She said: ''On the day that I announced I was leaving, every brand dropped me... so I went from, 'OK I knew I had this amount of money coming in and this much work that will see me through to the next six to eight months,' it disappeared overnight.
''That's how big a deal moving away from TV is. It was financially like a punch in the stomach, my safety net was gone. I was like, 'Oh my god I only have my savings. I can't turn back and change my mind. I have no other income.'"
Andrea turned to the stock market after selling her home and moving into a six-bedroom rental, but it remains unknown what sort of return she made.
The most recent accounts for her former business published in December 2023 showed it had just £292 in assets.
Her decision to leave Loose Women behind came after she suffered a nervous breakdown.
Announcing her exit live on air, she said: "Last year I had a nervous breakdown and what I felt was this year, collectively, the world had a breakdown and the experience I had means that this year I was mentally really strong to deal with everything that the pandemic threw at us.
"But it made me stop and think: 'What do I actually want?' If there is anything that can show us you only get one life…
"Are you living it the way you want? Doing everything you want to do? Being brave and taking chances? And I realised no."
Through all her hardship, Andrea has had husband Nick by her side and now the pair are committed to starting a new chapter in sunny Spain.

Lou Teasdale says she dumped Andy Carroll despite claims he ended things
Influencer Lou Teasdale has denied reports that former England striker Andy Carroll broke up with her, claiming instead that she was the one to end the relationship. The split comes just over a year after the pair began dating and a few weeks after reports that they were questioned twice by police in Greece following heated rows during a Mykonos getaway. Carroll, 36, has now unfollowed Teasdale, 41, on social media and removed all photos of her from his Instagram. This comes after previous rumours that Carroll was set to propose to Teasdale. According to a source quoted in The Sun, the ex-Liverpool and Newcastle forward had grown frustrated with Teasdale's 'influencer lifestyle' and constant social media posting. 'He told her it was over this week. He's single now,' the insider said. But it seems like things might not be that simple. A conflicting source told the Daily Mail: 'It was Lou who ended her relationship with Andy, she walked away a few days ago, it was very much her choice to end their romance. 'She isn't interested in pointing the finger or blaming him and hoped to deal with their split in private, before he blocked her on Instagram and deleted their photos together. 'Lou is very upset by how everything has played out and the arguments between them were especially difficult for her to go through. 'However, Andy wants Lou back and flew to Ibiza via private jet on Tuesday just to find her, even though he has no idea where she's staying. 'He will think it's a romantic gesture but for Lou, she's unimpressed and just wants to be away with her family, she's not interested in any of his attempts at a reconciliation. 'All she has done all year is love and support Andy, her feelings haven't gone away, but Lou has to protect herself now and ending the relationship is the only way to move forward.' The couple's relationship had appeared solid as recently as late July, when they were seen together at an Oasis concert. But their Greek holiday weeks earlier told a different story. Witnesses say the first argument erupted at the Nikolus Tavern, where Carroll allegedly appeared drunk and was overheard swearing at Teasdale. Police were called, but allowed him to leave after speaking privately. Later that night, officers were reportedly called again to their hotel amid claims of property damage, with staff alleging a door was broken. According to The Daily Mail, Carroll was taken to the police station for questioning, but he was not arrested, and no further action was taken. Teasdale left the hotel and stayed elsewhere for the night. Both Carroll and Teasdale downplayed the incidents at the time, describing the restaurant row as 'a private disagreement' blown out of proportion and insisting no one was arrested or charged. The incident was confirmed by a hotel employee, who claimed Carroll broke the door. A joint statement from the couple given to The Sun said: 'Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.' Carroll's return to the UK last month with National League side Dagenham & Redbridge marks the end of a two-year stint in France. Friends say he now wants to focus on football and his five children, three of whom he shares with ex-wife Billi Mucklow. Carroll confirmed his separation from Towie star Mucklow last September. After nearly 10 years together, Carroll and Mucklow tied the knot in 2022, but the former couple split last year after a turbulent marriage, which had already survived a near-scandal in 2022 when Carroll was photographed asleep next to two women during his stag party. More Trending On the day that the news of Carroll's separation from Teasdale broke, Mucklow took to social media to show she was all smiles in a brown bikini while on holiday with her family. A source told Metro in April that rumours of Carroll's possible engagement to Teasdale were not surprising to Mucklow: 'Billi isn't surprised that Andy is rushing down the aisle again. Her marriage to him didn't last very long and he moved on so quickly with Lou that nothing he does is surprising to her anymore. 'Her main focus will always be the children and moving on with her own life.' View More » Once Britain's most expensive footballer after his £35 million move to Liverpool in 2011, Carroll's personal life has often made more headlines than his career in recent years. Huge clue Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge have ended ‘feud' with each other – but not Myleene Klass
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FRANKIE Bridge and Rochelle Humes appear to have ended their "feud" after dropping a huge clue. Yet The Saturdays hitmakers, whose friction behind the scenes was first revealed by The Sun, might not be making amends with fellow former popstar Myleene Klass, 47. We then reported how ITV has stepped in to manage strained relations between Frankie, Rochelle, and Myleene. This weekend, we told how Rochelle, 36, had hit the like button on an Instagram upload showing Loose Women panelist Frankie, 36, stripping to a patterned bikini. Rochelle's like, at the time, was a surprise move amid their feud - as they rarely publicly support each others' posts. The All Fired Up singers haven't liked each others' uploads in years, and, until last week, there had been no likes or comment exchanges between the pair since 2013. This could mean they were wiped if one of them had blocked the other. Yet now they appear to have signalled their clash is over - after publicly supporting each others' social media content. After Rochelle kicked things off with her like, she has now showed her approval for Frankie's "holiday fits" upload as well as a gallery showing the family's coconut tree. Meanwhile, I'm A Celeb star Frankie has shared her approval for a recent Instagram paid post featuring Rochelle and her husband Marvin as well as a gallery of "summer love" images which started with a snap of Rochelle and her sisters. The olive branch comes after mum of two Frankie recently posted a cryptic "you're dead to me" upload after the pair kept their distance at Wimbledon. Frankie Bridge posts cryptic TikTok about 'being a people pleaser' amid feud with Myleene Klass Rochelle - who was in The Saturdays band with Frankie since 2007 - uploaded an equally thought-provoking message about "choosing partners wisely." TOUGH TIMES Recently, The Sun reported how ITV has stepped into manage relations between Frankie, Rochelle, and Myleene. All three former pop stars now work as Daytime presenters at ITV. They were all once close, with Loose Women hosts Myleene and Frankie attending Rochelle's hen do back in 2012. However, Rochelle and Frankie remained friends with their former bodyguard and Myleene's ex husband Graham Quinn. Rochelle even posted snaps with Graham in Ibiza last week. In 2013, soon after Myleene's divorce from Graham, guests at the Glamour Women of the Year awards saw her storm over to Frankie after believing she had been blanked. A source previously said: 'Myleene seemed to take that as Frankie taking sides with Graham because of their working relationship." Meanwhile, Frankie and Myleene have not appeared on Loose Women together since an 'awkward' episode last December. Sources said that though they'd rather not be on together, they are professionals and do their best to make things work. Tensions between the trio could well have heightened after Graham hit back at Myleene last weekend, blasting allegations of his "cheating." Meanwhile, Frankie this week posted a cryptic TikTok clip about being "a people pleaser" as the Myleene feud rumbled on. Rochelle also shared a mystery message in which she confessed "it's been a day." 7 Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes were bandmates in The Saturdays Credit: Getty - Contributor 7 They were close with Hear'Say singer Myleene until her split with Graham Quinn 7 Myleene believed the stars had taken her ex husband Graham Quinn's side Credit: Shutterstock Editorial
