Families were left shocked after a carnival ride suddenly crashed at an Edinburgh fair.
A dad-of-three said his kids are 'very lucky' to have walked out of the Waltzers funfair ride after it appeared to malfunction at the Galactic Carnival Festival in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, last night.
Kevin McNulty said he was on the ride with his three children and partner when the 'unthinkable happened.'
The car came 'completely off' when the ride was going at 'full pelt' as the kids were enjoying the day out in one car and Kevin and his partner rode in another behind them.
On footage captured by the dad-of-three, fairgoers can be first heard laughing and whooping in excitement as the ride spins around.
However, the sounds turn into terrified screams when some of the cars crash off the spinning platform and onto the side.
A panicked child can be heard yelling 'oh my God, oh my God,' with crying in the background.
Kevin wrote on social media how the 'car came completely off and then went flying into our car and then smashed about the place crashing into the side off the track.'
He said hurtling cars were 'thankfully' blocked by heavy large speaker 'that they collided with or they would have been through the whole thing and then the ending would have been a completely different story.'
Kevin said he 'can't stop thinking about' what could have happened if the equipment had not been there.
Pictures he took appear to show nuts and bolts on the floor near the ride in the immediate aftermath of the accident.
Kevin claimed that when a male manager arrived, he told the workers to 'get the bolts off the ground before they get pictures,' accusing him of not giving 'a single care' about his children.
He said his children are 'very lucky that they managed to get out of this still walking.'
Other rides then continued, but the Waltzers was stopped, he said.
However, he said he thinks the fair 'should have been shut down for a full inspection.' More Trending
Hundreds of people commented after Kevin shared the experience on social media.
One person said: 'Horrendous and could have so easily been a different outcome! Shocking.'
Another said: 'Thats horrendous hope they are all ok.'

Alison Hammond shuts down bizarre pregnancy claim in best way possible
Alison Hammond has shut down speculation that she's pregnant in the most hilarious way possible after false rumours spread online. The Great British Bake-Off and This Morning host, 50, has reportedly been the subject of false AI-generated stories that are claiming she's with child. Alison has one child – her son Aidan who was born in 2005 – but she appears to be determined not to have any more if her latest comments are anything to go by. Naturally, Alison has responded to the pregnancy rumours with good spirit and humour, taking to social media to deny them in the best way possible. Posting to her Instagram account, which has 1.7 million followers, she said: 'Lots of AI stories online about me being pregnant, I can confirm I am not having a baby.' She continued: '[I'm definitely not pregnant] as I'm not sure my 50-year-old womb could take it. However, I do think we should all dance like Meghan.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The statement was accompanied by a video of Alison dancing around her living room after stuffing her dress with a giant pillow to mimic a pregnant belly. Referencing the already famous video of Meghan Markle dancing while heavily pregnant with daughter Princess Lillibet, Alison busted a move or two while waving her hands in the air like she just didn't care. In the video, which was taken four years ago, the heavily pregnant Duchess of Sussex is shown dancing in a hospital room to the sound of Starrkeisha song Baby Momma. Meghan posted on her Instagram to celebrate Lili's fourth birthday on Wednesday, writing: 'Four years ago today, this also happened. 'Both of our children were a week past their due dates – so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do!' The happy video has (of course) drawn some criticism on social media after Meghan was seen to twerk at one point, with online users criticising her behaviour. For Metro, Kirsty Ketley argued back: '[The video] shows something powerful: joy. A woman, supported by her partner, using music and laughter to cope with one of the most intense moments of their life.' Commenting on Alison's video, Bryony Gordon called Alison 'our queen' while Lisa Snowden applauded, celebrated, and laughed at the clip with a group of emojis. More Trending Scottish radio presenter Jenni Falconer commented saying 'You are just brilliant' and added three big love hearts in her message to Alison. Alison's son Aidan, now 19, was born in 2005 when the Big Weekend presenter was engaged to Noureddine Boufaied – the couple split in 2014. She confessed, 'I felt that failure with [Noureddine] when we broke up, but he moved on and has three other kids now and they are part of our life,' but revealed that they have successfully co-parented over the years. Groundbreaking WWE star hails TNA championship as 'best in all of wrestling'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video WWE superstar Trick Williams has blasted fans for TNA Wrestling 'outsiders' over him. The 31-year-old star made history last month by becoming the first ever WWE-contracted wrestler to win the TNA Wrestling World Championship, which he'll defend tonight at Against All Odds. He'll be taking on Elijah, AKA Elias, after beating TNA's Mike Santana on NXT earlier this week, and Trick exclusively told Metro how he's embracing his hectic schedule and enjoying performing for a new crowd. 'Shoot, that's what I want, you know? I mean, I want to see many people as possible. I don't want to get stuck in just the Performance Center,' he admitted. 'I love the Performance Center. They've been great to me – but shoot, as we can see, they can turn on you any minute. I gave blood, sweat and tears for four years. 'Look at them now, they're cheering for Mike Santana, an outsider. Ain't been here, ain't got his feet wet! So, yeah, I want to go see other people. Orlando's been good to me, but shoot, they change… I'll change up too.' The two-time NXT Champion, who also has a run with the NXT North American Title to his name, also insisted he isn't simply carrying on the TNA World Championship legacy. The prestigious title has been held by the likes of Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, LA Knight, Nick Aldis and maybe more over the years, but Trick isn't looking at the past. 'I ain't continuing nothing. I'm starting my own legacy. I mean, you're right – Kurt Angle had the title, LA Knight had the title, Bubba Ray Dudley had the title. 'We can go all day, but the thing is, has it ever been a big of a deal as it is right now? I mean, the TNA Title is literally the best title to have in all of wrestling today.' On-screen, fans have seen Trick bring hip-hop into his wrestling persona, 'dropping diss tracks' on the likes of former champ Joe Hendry and Santana. 'I just moved into a house, and as I'm moving and packing, I found a journal that I had since sixth grade, of my raps that I was writing way back in the day,' he beamed. 'I'm really doing this on TV now, I'm dropping diss tracks on my opponents. Who would have known that skill, or that passion, something I love so long ago, was gonna be something that I use to humiliate my opponents?' His next challenger is superstar Elijah (AKA Elias), who has dealt with his rivals in a similar way across WWE and TNA. When it comes to actually getting in the ring, Trick isn't fazed. 'I've known him for a while. He's a strong guy. He's an athlete. He's wise beyond his years. He's swole, he done put on some weight, he looks good,' he said. 'Truth is, there's one Trick Williams. [Elijah] straps on his boots same way I strap on my boots. I'm ready to go to war.' Trick's been well-prepped for moments like this, under the tutelage of NXT boss and WWE icon Shawn Michaels. 'I've been working for him for four or five years now, and it's just cool to see our relationship actually grow,' he added. 'I get to sit down with him now, and the feeling of him actually trusting me to go out there and do what I'm supposed to do. [But] I don't know if I got all this trust yet.' Another key figure for Trick has been Booker T, another Hall of Famer who has been vocal behind the scenes – and the commentary desk. More Trending 'He's been a great mentor for me,' he said. 'He verbalises all the support every single week, that's just an extension of who he truly is and how he helps me behind the scenes.' Now, Trick is repaying that faith by representing WWE with TNA gold around his waist. 'TNA is a magical place,' he admitted. 'I'm able to spread my wings and be exactly who I always wanted to be. Even more so now you've put his gold on me, you really can't tell me nothing! My head is all the way through the building.' View More » Against All Odds airs tonight at 3am on TNA+. 'I think woman are strong regardless' - John Wick Ballerina director
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Len Wiseman, the director of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, has revealed why this movie isn't deliberately feminist. It was announced in 2019 that a female-led spin-off of John Wick had been commissioned, with Keanu Reeves set to be an executive producer on the film. With Ana de Armas at the helm as the lead, Eve Macarro, the movie picks up chronologically during the third John Wick film and further explores the Ruska Roma, the Russian group that trains children to be assassins. The story follows Eve's training as an assassin and her journey of personal revenge as she seeks out the group who murdered her father in front of her as a child. In a hotel in London, Metro sits down with Wiseman for a wide-ranging interview about the film, and straight off the bat, we discuss whether he considers the film 'feminist'. 'It's an action movie with a really powerful and strong lead, and I wouldn't say so much…,' he reflects and tries to find the right way to express his sentiment. 'I've been doing female-driven characters in action really from the beginning of my career,' he says, referencing his action horror series Underworld that starred his ex-wife Kate Beckinsale. 'I really don't put too much of a weight on it, I just think women are strong regardless. 'So I'll sayit's not intentionally, to me it is an action movie with a really kick ass lead that is a female character.' He emphasises that lines such as 'fight like a girl' – a phrase that recurs in the film and is even the title of the song as the credits roll – are not an attempt to pander to being a movie making a statement. 'To put a flip on [fight like a girl] and make that a very powerful thing, rather than a teasing phrase or what have you, that's absolutely intentional. But, I didn't want it to ever feel pandering to that. Just be real to it.' The director's undiluted enthusiasm about the film is evident, and he's eager for more female-led action movies, but not ones that are originally written as male characters. Ana, who played the character Paloma in the James Bond series, previously explained why she felt 007 shouldn't be played by a woman: 'Why don't we have more movies about Paloma? Let James be James and John Wick be John Wick. We'll do our thing,' she told The Independent. Wiseman nods and says he 'totally agrees,' with her sentiment. 'If they turned into like Jane Bond. I'll just go, 'What are you doing?' No. 'I would love to see more original, female-driven action movies, and I'm always glad when there's one that really works.' He adds that when it comes to women's roles in these movies, he also doesn't believe women-led action films should only be directed by women. 'It's if you were to ask, if a male-led action movie should only be directed by a man. I don't think that either,' adding that James Cameron and Katherine Bigelow are both fantastic directors who are capable of directing incredible action movies, regardless of gender. 'I think it's the best person for the job, is really what it should be. That's kind of my thought on it.' He added that he has pet peeves about when these characters are made sometimes indestructible , though. 'Often, I'll see that the female character is like indestructible in a way that is almost overtly kind of sexy and powerful and it just leans in too much into the sexiness of it.' He added that the really great action characters are not the ones who pose after a fight scene, but the ones who look knackered. 'Keanu will go through this amazing sequence, and after he's done, he's just f*****g tired,' he said, Comparing Reeves to Harrison Ford, and Mel Gibson's Martin Riggs he adds: 'Instead of landing like a Marvel character, they just eat it on the ground and then get up and keep fighting.' During the production of the film, there were rumours that John Wick director Chad Stahelski had to 'reshoot' the film. Stahlski rubbished the rumours at the time, and while chatting to Metro, Wiseman cleared up the story. 'Here's the truth of it, which is a personal thing, I ended up having a health crisis, and I had to go to the hospital for a little bit, and it was a really scary time. But everything is good and great. 'And thank God Chad was there. And we were always planning on splitting up the schedule in terms of some of the additional stuff that we were shooting to just try to get everything possible for the audience.' More Trending He said that at most, the rumours were 'annoying', but he was grateful things worked out the way they did, as they were able to make an incredible film. 'So it's annoying. I guess if anything, like you hear reshoots and you go, 'Oh, that's bad.' There were additional shoots, and then I had to go to the hospital for a little bit. So thank God it worked out the way it did.' 'The important thing is, the movie is incredible. I had a great time, Chad and I worked, you know, in partnership with it. And it is a movie I think people are gonna absolutely love.' Ballerina is in cinemas now. Got a story?
