BTS' V says he can't tolerate ‘person with childish behaviour' now: What Taehyung's changed personality after military discharge reveals
BTS' V and RM were discharged from the military on June 10, followed by Jungkook and Jimin, who officially wrapped up their service the next day. After returning, every member went live on Weverse to greet fans and interact, as HYBE had earlier restricted ARMY from visiting the military bases at Chuncheon and Yeoncheon during their farewell events. The group's leader, Kim Namjoon, and Taehyung, who enlisted together, were the first to go live, where they opened up about their 18 months of mandatory service and even revealed how their MBTI types — a test to identify personality type — shifted over time. Also read: 'Taehyung was so passionate': Award-winning director recalls how BTS' V got rid of IU's MV scene, cut his hair and enlisted the next day RM admitted he was diagnosed with insomnia and broke down crying the night before his discharge, sparking concern among fans that his military life may not have been as smooth as some of the other members. Meanwhile, fans noticed a drastic change in Taehyung, once known as the most playful, always grabbing attention for his childish antics, now looking much more mature. His posture, his tone, even the way he walks, everything sparked buzz as soon as he returned. And during the Weverse live, he made it clear: those childish days are behind him now. Also read: BTS' V replies to fan's countdown post: 'You waited… now what?'; from solo concerts to FESTA and art exhibits, here's what's next for the K-pop stars When RM asked V if his personality had changed, the Winter Bear crooner said yes. He admitted that over time, his The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (personality assessment tool) shifted from 'Feelings' to 'Thinking' — now seeing himself as more logical. 'My MBTI was ENFP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving) or INFP (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving) but I am ENTP (Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Perceiving) now,' he said. RM followed up, 'Why are you T?' With a dead-serious face, Taehyung replied, 'I really can't stand people with childish behavior now. For real!' While RM burst into laughter, V didn't even flinch and added, 'that's true'. The K-pop idol served in South Korea's elite SDT counter-terrorism unit, the only BTS member to enlist in the most fierce unit. During his service, Taehyung kept a low profile on social media, rarely making public appearances, though he occasionally grabbed attention for his noticeable weight gain. 🐯: My MBTI was ENFP or INFP but I am ENTP now. 🐨 : Why are you T? 🐯 I really can't stand people with childish behavior now. For real! Taehyung used 어리광 which means those with immature/childish behavior; deliberately acting like a child to win favor — TAE GUIDE (@taeguide) June 10, 2025 Taehyung even recalled weighing nearly 80 kg while serving. Before enlisting, he had shared his goal of hitting 86 kg during his military stint since he wouldn't have to follow K-pop's harsh dieting rules and could focus on staying healthy for service. When a fan once asked if he reached that goal, Taehyung proudly said yes, revealing he peaked at 81 kg. But upon discharge, he shared that he's now back down to 61 kg after shedding the extra weight. 'I really wanted to look good for ARMYs, so I completely cut out carbs lately since they can cause bloating. I've been waking up at 5 a.m. to work out on my own, just to get rid of the puffiness! It's been a while since ARMYs last saw me,' he said. Though he's now back to his original weight and his usual music grind, many fans pointed out how genuinely happy he seemed when he had gained the weight. One fan even commented, 'Something about Taehyung saying he lost weight but he really did love his body when it was at 80 kg just sits right in my spirit. Like, I'm so glad those stupid Korean idol beauty standards never made him feel bad about how he looks.' 🐻 I really wanted to look good for armys, so I completely cut out carbs lately since they can cause bloating. I've been waking up at 5 am to work out on my own, just to get rid of the puffiness! It's been a while since armys last saw me + — 텽 (@mybwits) June 10, 2025 Meanwhile, fans who cannot attend BTS Festa in person can enjoy the digital content scheduled to roll out on June 13 and 14 on HYBE's official social media handles.
