Complaint over food prices leads to attack
Vishal Sharma, a travel vlogger, boarded the Hemkunt Express from Rishikesh to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. During the journey, he filmed himself buying a bottle of water that was not Rail Neer. He was charged ₹20 for a Wonder Aqua bottle, although IRCTC guidelines mandate Rail Neer should be sold at ₹15.

When he questioned the price, the vendor told him, 'Yahi mila hai sir (This is what we have).' Sharma also recorded other transactions, including a cup of coffee sold for ₹20 instead of the approved ₹10, and noodles sold at ₹50 instead of ₹40.

LU asst prof gets anticipatory bail on Pahalgam attack post
Lucknow: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad high court has granted interim anticipatory bail to Madri Kakoti, an assistant professor of linguistics at Lucknow University , for her controversial posts on social media after the Pahalgam terror attack. The order was passed by the vacation single bench of Justice Rajiv Singh on Monday. Kakoti's advocate SMH Rizvi said the main argument put forward on behalf of Prof. Kakoti was that she had no connection with any political party and neither had she ever participated in any protest-demonstration etc. Teacher and satirist Madri Kakoti, whose online avatar Dr Medusa has 1,50,000 followers on X, was charged on April 29 with sedition and causing disharmony through a social media post on the April 22 attack in Pahalgam. ABVP's Jati Shukla alias Manmohan Shukla had lodged an FIR with Hasanganj police station on April 28. Along with other sections in the said FIR, the police also imposed section 152 of BNS under which the punishment is up to life imprisonment. Lucknow University had issued Kakoti a show-cause notice after ABVP students staged a protest on campus. Protesters alleged the teacher's remark had been reposted by a Pak media handle, tarnishing India's and the university's reputation. They submitted a memorandum to the vice-chancellor, demanding action against her. The allegedly seditious post included a video in which Kakoti said that religious profiling before killing someone is terrorism, as is enquiring about religion before lynching.

CR, Nag div, cracks down on illegal ticketing, unauthorised vending
Nagpur: Central Railway's Nagpur division launched a crackdown on illegal ticketing under ongoing "Operation Uplabdh" and also unauthorised vending. While the Railway Protection Force (RPF) targeted ticket touts, the commercial department's catering department acted against the unlicensed vendors to ensure passenger safety, hygiene, and revenue protection. In a recent operation at railway reservation centre at Nagpur station's Santra Market end, the RPF's crime intelligence branch, led by ASI Pankaj Sharma and constable Harvinder Singh, apprehended an individual with a live "tatkal" ticket. The suspect admitted to booking tickets for others for a commission. A search of the individual's phone revealed multiple "tatkal" tickets amounting to over ₹29,000, indicating a systematic illegitimate operation. And booked him under Section 143. CR urged passengers to book tickets only through official platforms or authorised agents, especially with the summer travel rush increasing passenger traffic. The commercial department intensified efforts against unauthorised vending. Over the past two weeks, 122 unlicensed vendors were nabbed across key trains, including Secunderabad–Danapur Express, Sanghamitra Express, and Nagpur–Ballarshah sections. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Inspecting teams confiscated and destroyed unhygienic items like unapproved buttermilk, non-Rail Neer water, and contaminated "chana", which pose serious health risks. Russia Ukraine war: Moscow launches nearly 500 drones for bombardment, biggest attack in three-year war
Russia launched almost 500 drones at Ukraine in the biggest overnight drone bombardment of the three-year war, the Ukrainian air force said Monday, as the Kremlin pressed its summer offensive amid direct peace talks that have yet to deliver progress on stopping the fighting. Despite the difficulties in reaching a ceasefire, Russia and Ukraine swapped another batch of prisoners of war on Monday. In addition to the 479 drones, 20 missiles of various types were fired at different parts of Ukraine from Sunday to Monday, according to the air force, which said the barrage targeted mainly central and western areas. Ukraine's air force said its air defences intercepted and destroyed 277 drones and 19 missiles, claiming only 10 drones or missiles hit their targets. Officials said one person was injured. It was not possible to independently verify the claims. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Join new Free to Play WWII MMO War Thunder War Thunder Play Now Undo A recent escalation in aerial attacks has coincided with a renewed Russian battlefield push along eastern and northeastern parts of the roughly 1,000-kilometre front line. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said late Sunday that in some of those areas, 'the situation is very difficult.' He provided no details. Live Events Ukraine is short-handed on the front line against its bigger enemy and needs more military support from its Western partners, especially air defences. But uncertainty about the US policy on the war has fuelled doubts about how much help Kyiv can count on. Ukraine has produced some stunning counter-punches, however. Its June 1 drone attack on distant Russian air bases was unprecedented in its scope and sophistication. Russia intensifies its attacks The Ukrainian General Staff said special operations forces struck two Russian fighter jets stationed at the Savasleyka airfield in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region located about 650 kilometres northeast of the Ukrainian border. The statement did not say how the planes were hit and there was no immediate comment on the claim from Russian authorities. Some Russian war bloggers said there was no damage to the warplanes. Russian officials have said the recent intensified assaults are part of a series of retaliatory strikes for Ukraine's drone attack on air bases that were hosting nuclear-capable strategic bombers. A strike on a Ukrainian air base in Dubno, in the western Rivne region, was one such response, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday. Two recent rounds of direct peace talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul have yielded no significant breakthroughs beyond pledges to swap prisoners as well as thousands of their dead and seriously wounded troops. Russian President Vladimir Putin has indicated he will keep fighting until his conditions are met. FAQs Q1. Who is President of Russia? A1. President of Russia is Vladimir Putin. Q2. Who is President of Ukraine? A2. Ukraine's President is Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
