Sky offers tempting £70 Sky Glass Air freebie - but it ends in hours

For those still utilising the older Sky Q platform, it might be time to consider an upgrade this week. Sky is currently enticing customers with a complimentary offer when purchasing its latest Glass Air TV.
Shoppers who act before 30 July will gain free access to stunning Ultra HD 4K content - a feature that typically incurs an additional charge. For instance, those with a Q box under their television will see an extra £13 on their monthly bill for the privilege of viewing shows and films in breathtaking UHD.
It's a big saving, and means users get an image that's four times denser with pixels than standard High Definition (HD). Shoppers will need to transition to the Sky Glass Air television, but even this comes with its own benefits, reports the Express.
Starting from £6 per month, this broadband-powered screen offers a straightforward set-up, with no requirement for an engineer visit, and regular updates from Sky. Shoppers will also receive personalised recommendations for viewing and easy access to all the most popular streaming apps such as Disney+, Netflix and Apple TV+.
Additional perks of Sky Glass include uninterrupted signals regardless of weather conditions, and unlimited storage with all recordings held in the cloud via Sky's Playlists feature. The device is available in three screen sizes (starting from 43-inch) and a variety of colours including Carbon Grey, Cotton White and Sea Green.
The breakdown of Sky Glass Air costs:
However, there are numerous other alternatives for those who prefer to pay in full, including Amazon's 20% discount on the 43" Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV. This top-selling Samsung TV on the site has been marked down from £299 to £239 – a saving of £60.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media's Summer of Sports sale has resulted in price reductions of up to £336 on its TV, Sky Sports and fibre broadband packages. The largest saving is on the Biggest Combo bundle, which includes eight Sky Sports channels, over 200 regular channels, Sky Cinema, Netflix, and 516Mbps broadband.
When it comes to the Sky Glass, there have been some glowing reviews on the Sky Community forum. One user said: "I can't fault it. It was very easy to assemble, and account syncing to my Glass downstairs was straightforward.
"The 55" TV is still a heavy piece of equipment compared to the numerous Samsung TVs I've had. Picture settings on auto seem suffice at this stage and the sound initially is totally different from the Glass downstairs – the speakers are at the back so it just projects differently, not in a bad way I might add. Speech is clear and it's certainly loud enough."
Another said: "This is a great TV that's perfect for the average TV viewer considering subscribing to Sky whilst seeking a good audio-visual experience at an affordable price. It's good as a standalone TV and works equally well for those who have already invested in a decent audio system."
However, the same user also noted it may not be for everyone, adding: "It's perfectly suitable for casual gamers, although hardcore gamers would likely want to look elsewhere for a proper gaming TV to connect their gaming console to."

Our tech experts also reviewed the iPhone 16e on the Daily Express when it released and noted just how great the phone was - with all the premium features of an iPhone 16 without the big cost. Tech editor Dave Snelling said: "Apple's new iPhone 16e should definitely not be ignored. This is a great smartphone that packs quite a punch for a much cheaper price than its siblings. "No, it doesn't get all of the features found on the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, but if things such as Camera Control and MagSafe don't really bother you, then this is a solid device to consider. What you do get is a beautifully made phone that is built for the future and the next generation of Apple Intelligence updates." He did state the iPhone 16e isn't a complete iPhone - and it's something Apple fans should consider. He added: "Just be aware that its lower cost means fewer features. You'll need to decide what really matters to you and what compromises you are prepared to make."

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's Design is a Big Surprise

The Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G represents a pivotal step forward in smartphone technology, blending innovative camera advancements with a sleek, modern design. With its distinctive raised camera island, larger apertures, and a thinner profile, this flagship device redefines both performance and aesthetics. Samsung has crafted a device that not only enhances functionality but also establishes a cohesive visual identity with its foldable counterpart, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, creating a unified design language across its premium lineup. This approach underscores Samsung's commitment to innovation and user-centric design. The video below from Miror Pro gives us more details about the rumored device. Watch this video on YouTube. Design Evolution: Raised Camera Island for Functionality and Style The Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a bold design evolution with its raised camera island, a significant departure from the flat design of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This elevated structure is not merely an aesthetic choice but a functional one, as it accommodates larger camera apertures that enable superior light capture and improved image quality. The raised island houses three of the four rear cameras, creating a visually distinct yet harmonious design element that integrates seamlessly with the device's overall aesthetic. Despite this structural enhancement, the Galaxy S26 Ultra maintains a sleek and thinner profile, showcasing Samsung's ability to balance advanced functionality with ergonomic design. This thoughtful approach ensures that the device remains visually appealing while being practical for everyday use, catering to users who prioritize both style and usability. Camera Innovations: Larger Apertures for Superior Photography The camera system of the Galaxy S26 Ultra sets a new standard in smartphone photography. By incorporating larger apertures in both the main and 5x telephoto cameras, the device captures significantly more light, resulting in sharper, more detailed images. This improvement is particularly evident in low-light conditions, where the enhanced light intake technology delivers exceptional clarity and color accuracy. The 5x telephoto lens stands out as a key feature, benefiting from these advancements to produce clearer and more precise zoomed-in shots. While the inclusion of larger apertures necessitates slightly bulkier lenses, the raised camera island ensures these components are seamlessly integrated into the device's design. This integration maintains both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the smartphone, offering users a device that excels in photography without compromising on style. Thinner Profile: Innovation Without Compromise Despite the inclusion of advanced camera components, the Galaxy S26 Ultra achieves a thinner profile than its predecessor. This engineering feat highlights Samsung's dedication to innovation without sacrificing portability or user comfort. The slim design enhances the device's visual appeal while making sure it remains comfortable to hold and easy to carry, making it a practical choice for users on the go. This balance between innovative technology and user convenience reflects Samsung's commitment to creating devices that cater to both performance and practicality. The Galaxy S26 Ultra exemplifies how advanced features can be seamlessly integrated into a compact and elegant form factor. Unified Design: Aesthetic Consistency Across Flagships The Galaxy S26 Ultra's design aligns with a broader trend in Samsung's flagship lineup: aesthetic consistency across devices. The raised camera island mirrors the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, creating a cohesive visual identity that ties the two models together. This unified design language appeals to users who value a consistent look across their devices, reinforcing Samsung's position as a leader in premium technology. By aligning the design of its flagship smartphones, Samsung not only enhances the appeal of individual devices but also strengthens its brand identity. This consistency ensures that users experience a sense of familiarity and quality across the company's premium offerings, making the Galaxy S26 Ultra a standout choice for those seeking both innovation and style. A New Benchmark for Flagship Smartphones The Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G establishes itself as a benchmark for flagship smartphones, combining innovative design with advanced functionality. Its raised camera island, larger apertures, and thinner profile come together to deliver a device that excels in both performance and aesthetics. By aligning its design with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung creates a cohesive product ecosystem that appeals to users who value both innovation and a unified visual identity. Whether you're passionate about photography, appreciate thoughtful design, or seek a device that seamlessly integrates advanced technology into your daily life, the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers a compelling blend of features. This smartphone is not just a tool; it is a testament to what modern technology can achieve, setting a new standard for the future of mobile devices. Sky Sports' football plan is 66p a day ahead of Premier League and EFL season

Sky is set to increase its Premier League coverage to a minimum of 215 fixtures this season, all of which can be enjoyed with this introductory offer. We're now two weeks away from the new Premier League season and football fans are being offered Sky Sports for 66p per day off on August 15, with title holders Liverpool facing Bournemouth at Anfield. The opening weekend is packed with must-see fixtures, including the likes of Wolves vs Man City, Chelsea vs Crystal Palace and Man United vs Arsenal. Each of these games will be shown exclusively on Sky Sports as the broadcaster increases its Premier League coverage from 128 matches to a minimum of 215 from this season. Sky says this is 80% of all televised Premier League matches. To catch all these fixtures – on top of more than 1,000 live games across the EFL, SPFL, WSL and Bundesliga – football fans must secure a Sky Sports subscription, which costs £20 per month in an introductory offer. This works out at roughly 66p per day over 30 days and provides access to nine Sky Sports channels including Main Event, Premier League, Football, F1, Golf and Tennis. It also includes the recently launched Sky Sports+ channel at no extra cost, which offers live streams of more than 1,000 live EFL games, every Carabao Cup fixture and every match from the men's Rugby Super League. The only catch is that those without an existing Sky package will need to pair Sky Sports with a TV and Netflix plan. However, these combined plans were revamped last year and now start at £35 for Essential TV and Sky Sports. This comes with more than 100 regular TV channels such as Sky Atlantic, along with free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions. Customers can also add TNT Sports to the package for an extra £20, far cheaper than the £30.99 it costs to join direct through Discovery+ Premium, to enjoy next season's European competitions. Sky's deal comes as Virgin Media launches its rival Summer of Sports sale, which offers big discounts across its own Sky Sports packages until September 2. These start with the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, which comes with more than 200 TV channels, including eight from Sky Sports such as Main Event, Football and F1. It also has 516Mbps fibre broadband, all of which has been reduced from £65.99 to £54.99 – £264 saving. A downside to both Sky and Virgin's plans is that customers will see at least two bill increases in their 24-month term as each provider raises their prices every April. This year, Sky introduced a 6.2% increase to its TV customers but is yet to confirm next year's chance. Virgin has already confirmed the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports will rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027. What sets Sky apart from its rivals is the opportunity to cancel a contract after a price rise is announced, not something offered by Virgin.
