I Wore the Celeb-Loved LED Mask Daily For A Month – Here's How My Skin Changed

Graziadaily01-07-2025
I'll admit it: my mind and internet search history have been crowded with the term 'LED light mask' since the moment I turned 27 earlier this year. Premature or not, I knew my hormonal breakouts and perpetually tired eyes needed an extra LED light boost in addition to my regular skincare routine. What I didn't know was where to start. So, when one of Grazia 's beauty editors recommended CurrentBody's mask, I knew I had to get my hands on one. Specifically, the new and improved CurrentBody LED Face Mask Series 2. Backed by a serious A-list endorsement, the red light mask promised a brighter, smoother and more even complexion with just 10 minutes of use every day – exactly what both my tired skin and packed schedule needed.
As someone who managed to get through puberty acne-free, the first signs of stress and hormonal acne in my 20s were particularly difficult for me. After years of premature popping and harsh exfoliation, my skin suffered a lot of hyperpigmentation, particularly on my cheeks. While this has been my main skin concern for years, late-night Netflix binge-watches and an inconsistent skincare routine have also left my under-eyes generally puffier and darker than normal. So naturally, when I had the opportunity to test the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series2, it felt like fate.
Given my social media addiction, I was familiar with the red light therapy mask. After all, everyone from Lily Collins on Emily in Paris to Nicola Coughlan, Suki Waterhouse, and even Kim Kardashian (who has wrapped the LED masks up as Christmas presents) have waxed lyrical about the brand's original mask. The upgraded Series 2 mask offers a more flexible and closer fit than its predecessor, thanks to a multiway strap that sits on top and across the back of the head. It uses a combination of red, near-infrared, and deep near-infrared light to penetrate deep and target signs of ageing while tightening, brightening and smoothing the skin.
The mask's red light therapy is also meant to be suitable for all skin types, says Emily Buckwell, head of brand . 'Red LED light therapy is safe and effective for 99.9% of people. That's one of the reasons we chose to specialise in it at CurrentBody. Our customers wanted something easy and safe to use that gave them results with minimal effort. The effects that our hundreds of thousands of customers report have included everything from reduced fine lines and wrinkles to an improvement in skin conditions such as rosacea and acne.'
CurrentBody also swears that the mask's powerful red light therapy reduces wrinkles by 30% and improves plumpness by 57% visibly with about four weeks of usage. While I'm not usually won over by bold anti-ageing claims, the idea of a skin reboot in a month sounded intriguing to say the least.
I'll be honest, I'm not usually as consistent with my skincare as I'd like to be. But I am a committed Grazia journalist so, for the last two months, I've been religiously using the CurrentBody Series 2 LED Maskthree times a week for 10 minutes. After cleansing my face each night, I strapped on the mask and let it work its magic thanks to a combination of 236 LED lights emitting three clinically recognised wavelengths. The soft mask moulded perfectly to my skin while the eye inserts kept my eyes from being strained by the bright red light so I could read, scroll through my phone or simply relax in bed without tempting headaches.
On the weeks before my period, when I felt my hormonal acne flaring under the surface, I increased the usage to five days a week and immediately felt the blemishes subsiding. The mask's clip-on controller also made it easy to move around the house, while the auto-turn-off feature meant I wasn't worried about overdoing it. It also comes with a Veritace NFC card, which ensures the quality checks your specific product went through, and that's not the case with many other expensive alternatives in the market.
While many reviewers started noting a difference around week two, I can't say I marked any significant shift apart from an instant glow the day after using the mask. So, at the very least, I knew the LED red light mask was perfect for a quick refresh before big events. By week four, however, my skin began to seriously change. The sunspots and acne scarring on my cheek began clearing up. My chin and nose, which suffered from bumps and uneven skin, were beginning to smooth out, which meant makeup went on much easier and looked more natural.
Now, two months later, while I still suffer from the occasional hormonal acne, my breakouts are rarer and heal much faster than before. I'm 27, so I can't quite attest to the mask's effectiveness on deeper wrinkles, but the finer lines under my eyes have been noticeably plumper.
Before and after using the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2
CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 Pros Flexible, improved fit covers the face and chin perfectly.
The lightweight mask is comfortable to wear.
Effectively targets skin concerns ranging from pigmentation and inflammation to uneven skin tone and visible signs of ageing. Cons The results take at least 4 weeks to show so consistent usage is neccesary. Mask type: Flexible face mask Wireless charger type: USB-C Material: Clinical-grade silicone Wave length used: Red light (633nm), near-infrared (830nm), deep near-infrared (1072nm) Treatment time: 10 minutes
The biggest question is, does the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 earn a permanent place in my skincare routine? Absolutely, it does. At £399.99, it's definitely an investment, but one that lives up to its promises. It feels highly technical and luxe but is incredibly easy to use and delivers results slowly, but surely. As with any beauty gadget, consistency is key, and I can already see my skin transforming with continued use. While I'm still using light touches of concealer and foundation, I'm optimistic about being able to skip makeup on a daily basis in a few months.
Of course, nothing can truly replace your trusty moisturiser and SPF combo, but if you're looking to elevate your everyday skincare regime, I'd honestly recommend CurrentBody's LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2. And if social media is any indication, so would many of our favourite celebrities.
Does the Currentbody LED facemask work?
Having tested the product for over two months now, I can definitely say that the product works and delivers on every promise it makes. My skin is much brighter and even-toned than before and my hormonal acne is better controlled as well. The texture on my face has begun to smooth out, making makeup application easier.
Is the CurrentBody LED face mask FDA approved?
Yes, according to the brand, the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 is FDA-approved and safe to be used on the skin.
How often can you use the CurrentBody LED face mask?
The ideal usage for the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 is three to five times a week, but you could also use it daily. Personally, I've been averaging the mask about four times a week at night as part of my skincare routine.
How long does it take to see results from CurrentBody LED face mask?
If you're after a simple glow, the results from the CurrentBody red light therapy LED fasce mask are almost immediate. However, for more effectove anti-ageing, brightening and smoothing benefits, you'll have to use the mask regularly for about a month.

Netflix fans convinced they've identified Tyler's new master after Wednesday Season 2 part 1 finale

Wednesday season two part one left subscribers on the edge of their seats as it saw the return of Tyler Galpin, aka the Hyde. WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Wednesday seasons one and two. ‌ Wednesday season two could see Tyler Galpin serving a new master, and it might be someone completely unexpected. ‌ Netflix viewers were left stunned when it was revealed that Tyler Galpin (portrayed by Hunter Doohan) was the Hyde terrorising Nevermore Academy in the first series three years ago. ‌ Fast-forward to the second series of Wednesday, and after being freed from Willow Hill by his former master Laurel Gates (played by Christina Ricci) and fatally stabbing her, Tyler is now on the loose. However, with Laurel no longer alive, it's uncertain who will step into her shoes as his next master, although some fans reckon they've figured it out. While Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is preoccupied with investigating the murderous crows, her classmate Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday) is assisting her mum Gabrielle (Gracy Goldman) in avoiding prison. ‌ She had been residing with the cult Morning Song after marrying its leader Gideon, using her siren powers to con people out of their money, but the FBI is now on the group's tail. In an effort to shield her mum, Bianca stashed Gabrielle in a hotel, and even though she was later apprehended by the police, the former managed to convince them to release her and made a run for it. ‌ Bianca, Gabrielle and Ajax (Georgie Farmer) were then skulking around Nevermore as they sought a temporary hiding place for her. Wednesday season two is only halfway through and so far, Gabrielle's storyline remains disconnected from the main plot of the Netflix sensation. However, could Gabrielle be woven into a more significant role in the upcoming episodes as Tyler's new master? ‌ Not only does she possess siren abilities that enable her to influence others more effectively, but Gabrielle has also recently emerged from a fraudulent cult, meaning her moral compass isn't exactly straight. Alternatively, some viewers are speculating that Bianca herself might become Tyler's controller. ‌ She too possesses siren capabilities which she previously employed to send Tyler to sleep during the season one finale, demonstrating her past ability to manipulate him. Taking to Reddit, one user posted: "We know from the description of The Hyde that they get a master via hypnosis, or chemical induction. "Thornhill used chemicals to break him into being her slave, but the only person in the show to ever hypnotise him was Bianca when she put him to sleep in the opening of episode eight." Nevertheless, others believe that Wednesday herself could be next in line to command Tyler, though given his loathing for her, this won't be an easy task.

Just ask the famous faces who have been descending on our shores and picking up a home-grown lad as a souvenir. Globally, Google searches for 'British men' went up 21 per cent over the past year. And according to dating site 65 per cent of its 108,000 members are American women. Meanwhile, US director Lena Dunham's new semi-autobiographical Netflix drama, Too Much, tells the story of a New York woman who moves to London following a break-up and falls for an English musician. READ MORE ON CELEBRITY DATING ROCK IN THE PARK Zendaya flashes £200k engagement ring on London dog walk with Tom Actress Lena married British composer Luis Felber in 2021 after also moving across the pond. Just a few of the stars following in her footsteps and bagging a Brit hunk are singer Olivia Rodrigo, actress Zendaya, and billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz, who earlier this month renewed her wedding vows with Brooklyn Beckham. More recently, Love Island UK's first transatlantic winner Toni Laites admitted that she sees 'no reason to be in America any more' after falling for East London lad Cach Mercer on the ITV show. Here are seven of the British men who have proved irresistible to US celebs. Tom Holland opens up about 'one day becoming a dad' as GMA shares sweet photo of star with girlfriend Zendaya Louis Partridge and Olivia Rodrigo 8 US singer Olivia Rodrigo has fallen for Brit actor Louis Partridge Credit: Getty TAKING to the stage at Glastonbury in June, Drivers License singer Olivia made her allegiances known. 'I love England so much,' the Californian told the 120,000-strong crowd. 'I love how nobody judges you for having a pint at noon. I love English sweets… and, as luck would have it, I love English boys.' Specifically, she loves one English boy – actor Louis Partridge. The pair, both 22, first sparked romance rumours in October 2023, when they were pictured with their arms around the other's waist in London. They then made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Venice Film Festival in August 2024, where Louis was promoting his TV series, Disclaimer. The pair have more recently been spotted together at Wimbledon. They have mostly remained coy about their relationship, with Londoner Louis telling British Vogue last year: 'Dating probably shouldn't be done in the public eye… I think she's got tons and tons of eyes on her case.' So Olivia's very public tribute to the Enola Holmes star on stage at the Worthy Farm festival is testament to their strong feelings. Tom Holland and Zendaya 8 Zendaya has moved from California to London to be with Brit Tom Holland Credit: Getty ONE of our most famous transatlantic couples, Tom and Zendaya got engaged earlier this year, with the British actor proposing with a £200,000 ring. Since meeting Tom, 29, on the set of Spider-Man in 2016, Zendaya, 28, has proved herself to be a true anglophile. She has moved from California to Richmond, South West London, where the pair reside in a £3million mansion close to where he grew up. Residents are said to leave them alone and they are frequently spotted walking around Richmond Park. Last year Zendaya, 28, confirmed she is Tom's biggest fan, paying tribute to her man while promoting her own movie, Dune 2. 'I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not on the Dune cast, but personally works for me, is Mr Tom Holland,' she said, adding that 'he's great at just talking to people, getting to know people.' And last week Zendaya was spotted supporting Tom while he filmed scenes for their upcoming Spider-Man flick in Surrey. Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel 8 Londoner Matty Healy is engaged to Californian Gabbriette HE did not receive a glowing review from his American ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, who slammed him in songs The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can). But Londoner Matty's charms have fared better on Californian Gabbriette, 28. The 1975 frontman, 36, started dating the model in 2023 and they got engaged last year. But Gabbriette has revealed they are in no rush to wed. 'It might take a while because I'm bad at planning stuff,' she said last month. 'But the wedding bells are somewhere up there.' Meanwhile, the model has another fan in Matty's famous mum, Denise Welch. The Loose Women star recently appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live! and took the opportunity to pay tribute to her future daughter-in-law, while also taking a subtle swipe at Taylor. 'Matty has taken it all in completely good grace,' she said. 'He's very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabbriette – who is gorgeous – so we've moved on.' Leo Woodall and Meghann Fahy 8 Meghann and Leo have a 'great deal in common' despite their hometowns being worlds away Credit: Getty AS co-stars on season two of The White Lotus in 2022, Meghann and Leo had their fair share of on-screen romance with other people. But it was not long until they only had eyes for each other – and after the private pair were spotted kissing in New York in 2023, they finally hard launched their relationship on social media in early 2024. Though her hometown of Massachusetts is worlds away from Leo's West London roots, Meghann, 35, has said they have a great deal in common – not least their high-profile careers. She revealed earlier this year: 'I think that it's just really great to be deeply understood… There's so many weird things about this industry and what we do, so I think there's just something really lovely about being with somebody who really gets that.' As for Leo, 28, he has called their relationship his 'safe space,' which leaves little confusion as to why, like Bridget Jones in the series' latest film, Meghann is Mad About The Boy. Harry Charles and Eve Jobs 8 Eve Jobs looked across the Atlantic to find her happy-ever-after with Team GB champion Harry Charles Credit: Instagram SHE is the American heiress who could have her pick of any fella in her home country. But Eve Jobs – the daughter of late Apple founder Steve – looked across the Atlantic to find her happy-ever-after with Team GB champion Harry Charles, 26. As an accomplished equestrian – once ranked the world's fifth best rider under-25 – it is no wonder Eve, 27, has fallen for the Olympic-gold showjumper, from Hampshire. The pair reportedly met due to their shared love of horses and started dating in 2022. They got engaged two years later, around the same time the former Tatler It Girl and model was cheering Harry on at the 2024 Paris Games. The couple wed last month in a lavish £5million wedding in the Cotswolds, with a celebrity guest list including former US Vice President Kamala Harris. Last week Eve shared their first official wedding portrait, telling her social media followers it had been 'the most magical week'. George Rollinson and Ashley Roberts 8 Ashley has been loved up with Brit artist and tattooist George since 2023 Credit: GC Images RADIO host Ashley made the UK her home many years ago, but she didn't initially commit to the British-boy assignment – famously dating Italian stallion Giovanni Pernice in 2018. The former Pussycat Doll, 43, has since discovered the local fare and has been loved up with artist and tattooist George, 25, since 2023. The pair went public in early 2024 and have posted snaps from holidays to Dubai and Italy, as well as their visit across the pond to see Ashley's family in Phoenix, Arizona. Ashley said last year: 'American men are overwhelming, they are too much. I'm like, you need to calm down.' And she is not the only Pussycat Doll singer to fall for a British man. Hawaiian Nicole Scherzinger, 47, is engaged to 40-year-old Scottish former rugby player Thom Evans. And Missouri-born Kimberly Wyatt has been married to singer Max Rogers, both 43, since 2014. Nathan Louis-Fernand and Rachel Zegler 8 Snow White actress Rachel is dating Londoner Nathan SHE is currently taking the West End by storm as the leading lady in musical Evita. But off-stage, Rachel is making sweet, sweet music with co-star and back-up dancer Nathan. The 24-year-old has temporarily relocated to London for the show – and it seems the New Jersey-born star is enjoying the local delights. The Snow White actress was pictured kissing Londoner Nathan, 27, last month at Sabrina Carpenter's headline gig at the BST Hyde Park Music Festival on July 6. In the weeks since, Rachel has posted snaps of Louis on her Instagram, including a blurry photo of them embracing one another and another of him kissing her cheek. The pair were also seen walking Rachel's dog in London's Primrose Hill two weeks ago, with Louis wrapping his arm around the actress.
