Strictly Come Dancing reveals Good Morning Britain's Ross King as 13th star

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Strictly Come Dancing has announced Good Morning Britain star Ross King as the latest contestant to join the 2025 cast.
Speaking about why he's signed up, Ross told Lorraine's Ranvir Singh: "My dear old mum used to always say, 'You never know, until you give it a go.' Just do your best, it's all you can do.
"People I've seen do it, obviously I watch Dancing with the Stars in America. My friend Katherine was on it and she was unbelievable - that put me off it."
However, Ross ultimately decided to give it a go. He said in a statement: "From the bright lights of Hollywood to the glittering ballroom - it's a dream come true to be part of such an iconic show. I can't wait to learn from the best, meet my fellow contestants, and, most importantly… try not to step on too many toes! Let's give this the best that I can!"
Former The Apprentice star and social media personality Tom Skinner was announced as one of the latest celebrities to be taking part in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing on Thursday.
Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison and Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis were also confirmed as contestants on the BBC dancing show earlier in the day.
It comes after Tom, 34, met US vice president JD Vance for a barbecue and drinks, with Skinner – who befriended US President Donald Trump 's number two on social media platform X – describing the event as 'once in a lifetime'.
Speaking about taking part in the show, Skinner said: 'I'm beyond excited to be joining Strictly Come Dancing. I've tackled the boardroom and some big breakfasts in my time, but stepping on to the dance floor under that glitter ball is next level stuff.
'I've never danced in my life other than at weddings, but I'm ready to graft and of course have a laugh. Bring on the sequins, sambas and, most importantly, the bosh to the ballroom.'
Tom teased his Strictly appearance on social media before it was confirmed by former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson on Hits Radio on Thursday.
Vicky Pattison, who has previously been crowned queen of the jungle on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and appeared on Ex On The Beach, was announced as the show's 11th contestant on ITV 's This Morning.
She said: "I'm absolutely buzzing to be part of this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. I am not a natural dancer. However, it's such an amazing opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in a completely new way, and I just really hope I don't make too much of a fool of myself.'
Vicky said she had 'watched the show for years' with her grandmother, and added she found it 'really flattering' to be picked for Strictly.
Stefan Dennis, who is also known for his 1989 single Don't It Make You Feel Good which reached number 16 in the UK chart, was announced as the 12th contestant on This Morning.
Speaking on the show, he said: 'I'm very, very excited to be doing something that is completely and utterly out of my comfort zone. But also, because of that, quietly petrified.'
He continued: 'My gorgeous wife, wherever she is, she's somewhere out there, Gail, is a professional dancer and she's been trying to teach me in the most frustrating way for her, I'm sure. Because I just keep burying my head in the sand going, 'No, this is not happening', she's been giving me some good tips but that doesn't mean I'm any good.
'People are going to be sick of me by the end of the year, because not only am I going to be doing Strictly, with all that coverage, but also Neighbours is on until the end of the year, because even though we finished filming a month ago, it's on air until December.'
Tom's appearance comes after he recently claimed he had received 'death threats' and 'vile comments about my children', following a series of social media posts which drew criticism from some of his followers.
In the tweets, he said it is 'not far-right' to be 'flying your flag and loving your country', and complained 'it ain't safe out there anymore' in London, calling the city 'hostile' and 'tense'.
On The Apprentice, Tom was fired by Lord Alan Sugar in week nine during the show's 15th series in 2019, but he has since made his name as a social media celebrity, posting videos from his favourite east London cafe showing him eating breakfast and giving motivational speeches to his followers.
The trio will join the likes of podcast host and YouTube star George Clarke, RuPaul's Drag Race UK finalist La Voix, former England rugby player Chris Robshaw, and model and CBBC actress Ellie Goldstein, who is to become the first contestant with Down's syndrome to take part in Strictly's full series.
The line-up is completed by Love Island winner Dani Dyer-Bowen, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, and former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
In July, the BBC announced two 'incredible' new professional dancers, US-born Alexis Warr and Australian dancer Julian Caillon, will be joining Strictly.
The popular show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September, with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas as judges.

Live and Kicking's Emma Forbes now from surprise new career to health transformation

After bagging a job in the cooking slot on the BBC 's hit children's series Going Live!, Emma Forbes had secured her place on the nation's TV screens and in its heart. Finding fame on the popular show, presented by Phillip Schofield and Sarah Greene, she then went on to co-host the replacement Saturday morning kids' programme Live & Kicking for three years with John Barrowman and TV stalwart Andi Peters, who has just floored This Morning fans by revealing his real age. It was a huge hit thanks to its entertainment sections, big-name celebrity interviews and games the presenters joined in on. As well as her hosting talent, fresh-faced Emma was known for her beauty. She was represented by Storm Models - the agency which discovered supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. It comes after one huge TV star looks completely unrecognisable as she reveals latest facelift ITV makes major decision on I'm A Celebrity's future after talks with officials Richard Osman reveals axed Ant and Dec show was 'expensive car crash' In 1996 she was voted number 64 in FHM mag's 100 Sexiest Women poll. Famed for being well-groomed with lusciously thick locks, Emma became the face of shampoo brand Head & Shoulders. She followed in her mother - actress Nannette Newman's - footsteps when she hosted a revival of panel show What's My Line. Nannette had been a regular panelist on the 70s version. Emma also voiced Mummy Hippo in animated infant favourite, Peppa Pig. As well as her TV credits, Emma has worked extensively on radio. She co-hosted the Heart Breakfast Show alongside Jonathan Coleman and presented BBC Radio 2 shows with Mark Radcliffe and Alan Carr as well as having her own Sunday morning show. In 2018 the broadcaster and her banker husband Graham Clempson sold their £25 million home in Chelsea, London, and moved to New York. The couple, who married in 1987, have two children together, which is why Emma stepped away from her TV career. They are now grown up and have moved out of their parents' house in East Hampton. Emma previously spoke about the family's move to the US and said she'd always loved America. "We've always had a connection with it," she told Hello!. "I find it an exciting place to live, it ignites my feeling of anything is possible, and it felt right for part two of life with my two children, one on each coast, to be nearer them. So with my own family here that makes it feel like home, and we've created a life that works for us all here." These days Emma works alongside her fashion designer daughter Lily Clempson and is obsessed with improving her own lifestyle as well as that of others. On her Instagram page she describes herself as a, "trained holistic wellness & nutrition coach with a passion for cooking & healthy lifestyle". It's something she became personally invested in around 2011 as she noticed her body change and wanted to lose stubborn belly, back and bottom fat. She spent the next 18 months turning herself around with an exercise and diet programme. In 2013 when she was snapped looking incredible in a swimsuit on the beach in Barbados, she spoke about her new regime. Emma revealed she was following the 'clean and lean' advice of celebrity trainer James Duigan, whose clients included Elle Macpherson. "I've always been a healthy eater - I used to start the morning with a big bowl of muesli, and snack on bananas and crackers," she told the Mail."I didn't know what I was doing wrong, or why I was flabby. "James explained that my diet was actually too healthy. I was eating so much fruit and so many vegetables that I got hungry easily - and was tempted to reach for a muffin or some biscuits to stave off the hunger pangs." James told her to cut back on the sugary fruit and carbohydrates and eat more protein. Emma believes it reshaped her body and changed the way she ate forever. She also introduced an exercise programme, despite loathing it. "With the help of a personal trainer, I started a regime. My aim was to work my core muscles and tone my legs and arms. I'm very disciplined. I have three, one-hour sessions a week when I do everything from stomach crunches to weight lifting," she said. Speaking on the Lorraine show in 2019, she assured the public she hadn't ever had any tweakments or work done to maintain her youthful appearance: "There's no plastic surgery going on here! I'm not judgmental of people that do it, but I am that person that it would go horribly wrong on, so I'm too frightened and I just don't do it," she said. During the interview she also discussed how the menopause had affected her, saying it had made her worry irrationally. "It's caused terrible anxiety and a loss of confidence. And anxiety over ridiculous things," she said. She revealed that she was on body identical hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to help with her symptoms. Just after Covid, in 2021, Emma launched a lifestyle podcast, Life and Soul, in which she spoke to celebrities and professionals about how they coped with the pandemic and what they did to make themselves feel good. Guests included people she admired, such as cooking legend Prue Leith, former Loose Women host Andrea McClean and This Morning 's Dr Zoe Williams.

BBC reportedly calls in police to investigate fresh Strictly allegations

The BBC has asked the police to investigate fresh allegations involving hit show Strictly Come Dancing, after claims two of its stars used cocaine, reports have said. According to the Sun On Sunday, the BBC has alerted the Metropolitan Police to new allegations about the show – but the details have not been specified. A BBC spokesperson said on Saturday the corporation does not comment on police investigations. 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us,' the statement added. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' Earlier this month, reports in The Sun alleged two Strictly cast members' drug use was discussed on the BBC dancing show, and said that the corporation had appointed law firm Pinsent Masons to lead the investigation. The scandal-hit show was also the subject of a review in 2024, when the BBC looked into allegations of bullying and harassment against former professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, made by his former dance partner Amanda Abbington. The corporation upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made – and introduced a series of new measures aimed at improving welfare. This included the introduction of a chaperone who is present 'at all times' during training room rehearsals. EastEnders star James Borthwick was also suspended from the BBC after a video emerged of the actor using a disabled slur on the set of the dance programme. The cocaine use allegations were reportedly made in a legal submission by law firm Russells in March on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans, who was dropped by the BBC after apologising for using 'inappropriate language' during the launch of the Strictly tour. It is understood that the BBC often appoints external law firms to help it lead investigations. The BBC spokesperson previously said: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment.
