'Lal Salaam' tells a heartfelt story centred around the game of cricket and the bond between two friends, Thiru and Shamsuddin, who hail from the fictional town of Murarbad.

However, their relationship is put to the test when a politician's son manipulates the situation during elections, provoking them to compete fiercely against each other in a cricket match.

As per Sacnilk, the film opened with a moderate Rs 8 crore gross worldwide on its first day, with around Rs 4 crore coming from Tamil Nadu alone. By the end of two weeks, Lal Salaam had collected approximately Rs 17.5 crore net in India and around Rs 32.5 crore worldwide.
