Andhra Pradesh CM begins Singapore tour to woo investors
During his visit, the Chief Minister will engage with Singaporean industrialists, investors, and government officials, accompanied by HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh; Industries, Food Processing and Commerce Minister TG Bharath; Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana, and senior bureaucrats. His itinerary includes meetings, site visits, and participation in key forums aimed at fostering international partnerships.
On Day 1, Naidu will attend the Telugu Diaspora from South East Asia event at the OAVIS Auditorium, organised by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT). The event is expected to draw around 1,500 delegates, including entrepreneurs and professionals from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Discussions will centre on global employment opportunities for AP youth, NRI-driven exports, and skill development.
From this platform, Naidu will also invite Telugu industrialists and NRIs to support the State's Zero Poverty Mission through the P4 initiative.
Soon after arrival, the Chief Minister will meet Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule, followed by discussions with Surbana Jurong and Eversendai Engineering Chairman Tan Sri Dato AK Nathan. In the evening, he will attend a formal dinner hosted by the High Commissioner.

Telugu Film Chamber turns down federation's 30% wage hike demand
A day after the Telugu Film Industry Employees' Federation called for a strike, demanding a 30 per cent wage hike, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has responded in the negative. Passing an 'unanimous resolution', the TFCC has allowed producers to hire workers who aren't part of the union. Shooting across Telugu cinema came to a halt due to the strike called by the Telugu Film Industry Employees' Federation on August 04, 2025. Reacting to the development, the Film Chamber said in a statement, 'The Telugu film industry in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is already in a very difficult situation. At such a time, when discussions are underway for an amicable solution under the guidance of the Honourable Labour Commissioner, the Federation has chosen to defy this process.' In a notice, the Federation had said that 'members should not report to shoot anywhere' until the wage hike is implemented. 'The Federation decided that from August 04, 2025, a 30 % wage hike should be given. Unless producers send a letter stating they will implement this hike and send it to unions, there will be no shooting.' The Chamber said the hike is 'unaffordable for small produces', adding that 'all small producers are against the hike, as it's not in their means.' The TFCC cited Labour Commissioner's clarification, stating that under the Minimum Wages Act, producers have the right to employ workers as long as they are paid minimum wages. It also mentioned the Competition Commission of India (CCI) order that restrains federations from imposing anti-competitive practices. Trade unions should recognise that the well-being of producers is vital for the survival of our industry,' said TFCC, adding that producers can hire workers outside of the union. 'The cost of living is lower in Hyderabad than in other metropolitan cities. Moreover, we are paying higher wages to workers here than in other film industries,' the Chamber further said.

TTD chief justifies AI use for speedy darshan
TIRUMALA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B R Naidu on Sunday refuted former Executive Officer L V Subramaniam's remarks opposing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in managing pilgrim services at Tirumala. Naidu clarified that the AI initiative, launched in collaboration with Google, TCS, and others, is being implemented free of cost to reduce devotees' waiting time in queue lines and Vaikuntham complexes. He said the system will enable devotees to receive real-time darshan updates, helping them plan temple visits more efficiently. 'This is in the interest of common devotees,' Naidu stressed. Condemning Subramaniam's comments, he said it was improper for a senior official to criticise AI without understanding its importance. 'Such statements create unnecessary confusion,' he said. The TTD Board reaffirmed its commitment to using technology to enhance the pilgrim experience.

Raise per capita income to Rs 5.42 lakh by 2029: Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: In a strategic review meeting held at the State Secretariat on Monday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasised a governance model prioritising people, vision, nature and technology to achieve superior outcomes, and elevate living standards in the State. The meeting, attended by senior officials from the Planning Department and various sectors, focused on boosting the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Naidu outlined a goal to increase per capita income to Rs 3,47,871 by 2025-26, with a long-term target of Rs 5.42 lakh by 2029. He stressed the importance of meticulous planning and execution across short, medium, and long-term objectives to align with global trends and capitalise on emerging opportunities. All the departments were directed to design programmes with families at the core, ensuring basic needs are met while promoting sustainable practices. He advocated for policies that protect natural resources, and promote environmental sustainability. The Chief Minister proposed adopting a circular economy model, where waste from one industry serves as raw material for another, ensuring efficient resource use.
