Jamie Carragher shares snaps of his daughter's 21st fancy dress party as Liverpool legend steals the show with hilarious costume
Jamie Carragher pulled out all the stops for his daughter Mia's 21st birthday party - including dressing up as none other than Willy Wonka.
The Liverpool legend ditched his usual pundit attire for a purple velvet coat, top hat, and oversized bow tie as he channeled the eccentric chocolate factory owner in celebration of his daughter's milestone.
Mia, who was dressed as Poison Ivy, marked her birthday in style with a lavish party surrounded by family and friends. But it was her dad's eye-catching outfit that stole the show on social media.
Carragher, 46, posed proudly in full costume, sharing photos and videos from the party on Instagram.
He wrote: 'What a great night for Mia's 21st birthday fancy dress party,' alongside a heart, dancing and beers emojis.
Adding to the fun, Carragher fully embraced his Willy Wonka persona by taking the mic and performing Pure Imagination, the iconic song from the classic 1971 film.
Meanwhile, Jamie's son, James Carragher, who plays professionally for Wigan, also got into the fancy dress spirit by channelling a Peaky Blinders vibe by dressing in a sharp three-piece suit, flat cap, and pocket watch.
Mia is an actress, having graduated from Tring Park Performing Arts School in 2022. When she was younger, she trained as a dancer at Rare Studios in Liverpool.
She has appeared in multiple movies, including: 'One Night in Istanbul', 'The Gathering' and 'Watering Hole'.
Mia boasts over 89,300 followers on Instagram, where she shares photos of her travels, lifestyle and career ventures.
Meanwhile, she posts funny videos and vlogs on her Tiktok account, where she has amassed a further 59,200 fans.
Last month she made a brief appearance while her dad was on punditry duty for CBS' Champions League coverage.
After his phone run live on air, Carragher answered: 'Hiya babe, are you okay? I'm on TV.'
Micah Richards joked: 'Well, there goes the Emmy,' before Carragher explained that Mia was simply asking where her mother was. He told his daughter: 'I don't know, I'm in London, babe. I'm in the studio.'
Scott then asked Carragher if Mia would like to go on loud speaker, to which she appeared to oblige.
After being informed by Richards then she had interrupted the live show, Mia's opening words were: 'Oh my God, I am so sorry. I didn't have a clue [he was on live TV].'
Carragher then hilariously asked: 'Are you not putting the dodgy box on?' as CBS's coverage is only available in the United States.
Host Kate Scott then took her opportunity to ask Mia: 'I am so interested, your dad can be a little bit spiky on TV, what's he like at home?' to which Mia replied: 'He is lovely.'
After her response was met by a crescendo of awws in the studio, the Liverpool legend said: 'I love you more than anything my girl. What a star.'
He added: 'There is nothing this girl can ever do wrong. I can't ever shout at her, I find it hard to shout at you don't I?'

The Queen gamely shook hands with someone dressed up as a hedge while attending a Big Lunch event celebrating biodiversity. Her Majesty, draped in a long coat, enjoyed a cup of tea and joked about stepping into a 'hurricane' as the sky clouded amid chilly gusts of wind. The event, her first Big Lunch since becoming Queen, was held at the new Eden Dock in Canary Wharf, a 'vibrant, biodiverse space' created by the Eden Project in collaboration with the Canary Wharf Group (CWG). As the Queen made her way toward guests enjoying afternoon tea on decorated outdoor tables, she was introduced to two 'moss people', who represented sculptures installed at the site to increase biodiversity. The two figures, covered head to toe in leaves, shook their heads, prompting the Queen to chuckle. Sir Nigel Wilson, chairman of CWG, told the Queen he had recently visited the National Gallery, where the coronation state portraits were unveiled. 'I saw your portrait the other day,' he said. 'It is fantastic, much better than Charles's.' The Queen gave an awkward laugh before being greeted by Angela Rippon, charity ambassador for the Big Lunch, and listening to the London Docklands Singers perform America from West Side Story. The comedian, 41, announced on her podcast on Wednesday that she is expecting her fourth baby and third child with her husband Bobby Kootstra. The pair are already parents to Fred, three daughter Fenna, two, and the star also has 15-year-old Violet from a previous relationship. And both Katherine and Bobby have admitted this will be the last child as they opened up about the pregnancy. The series saw the couple exploring their marriage through therapy before visiting a fertility clinic. Katherine admitted in the scenes which aired in February that she knew conceiving a fourth child would be challenging thanks to both her and Bobby's age. 'It's not that surprising that over-40 women have fewer follicles than we once did,' said Katherine. 'But we talk a lot about male fertility as well, which is on a steep decline. But I would still like a fourth baby. 'We are so blessed to have the kids that we do have. Having children is not for everyone, but I personally really like making people. I think it's a superpower, if you can do it.' She explained at the time how she and her husband had never previously struggled with getting pregnant but had suffered multiple losses. 'We've always gotten pregnant with the babies quite quickly. I've been pregnant five times in five years, but that also means I've had three miscarriages in five years and the likelihood of that increases as you get older,' she explained. 'You have to find a balance between what you can personally stand and risks you're willing to take. I'm working a lot and I don't know if I could have a medical emergency like that while I'm in Lisbon on Thursday.' The comedian also revealed in March 2025 that she was battling melanoma for the second time. She made the revelation in her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, explaining she paid to have mole removed from her arm and learned it was cancerous. She added that she required more surgery to ensure the entire mass has been removed. Katherine and her husband Bobby have been together since 2018, but have known each other since they were children as they grew up together in Canada . Childhood sweethearts, the two parted ways initially before rekindling their romance this side of the Atlantic.
