Matty Healy's Mom Shades Taylor Swift as Travis Kelce Posts Rare PDA Pics With the Pop Star
On the Thursday, July 24, episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Welch about her reaction to Swift's 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, which fans speculated was about her son.
'Obviously, on pain of death, can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost,' the English TV personality admitted. 'Not that I have anything against her at all. It was just — it was tricky.'
'She — listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it, but Matty has taken it all in completely good grace,' she continued.
Welch said that the The 1975's lead singer, 36, is now 'very happy' with his 'gorgeous' fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel, noting 'we've moved on.'
Swift, 35, and Healy had a brief romance, dating from May to June 2023.
The 14-time Grammy winner has since moved on with Travis Kelce, whom she linked up with in the summer of 2023.
On the same day Welch appeared on WWHL, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, posted an Instagram Carousel showcasing how he spent his NFL offseason — which included making memories with the 'Cruel Summer' singer.
The cover shot featured the three-time Super Bowl champion and Swift wearing all-white outfits and donning hats that read 'Captain' and 'First Mate.'
Other photos included the couple at a restaurant, playing hockey and enjoying time with celebrity friends, including Charissa Thompson, Erin Andrews, Este Haim, Ashley Avignone, and Ross Travis.
'Had some adventures this offseason, kept it 💯,' Kelce captioned his post.
Fans took to the comment section to gush over the rare content.
'Taylor genuinely looks so happy😭🥹❤️,' one fan gushed.
'Wait the 13 pictures are you kidding me 😭🥹,' a second fan pointed out, referring to how Swift's lucky number is 13.
''Thank you Travis!!!' we all said in unison,' a third fan wrote.
The Chiefs official Instagram account also dropped a comment which read, 'Things we love to see: travis happy 🥹❤️.'
In July, Kelce opened up about his relationship with the singer-songwriter on an episode of the Bussin' With The Boys podcast.
'We're having fun with it, man, being a couple,' he explained. 'We're just enjoying life and having fun going to hockey games, kinda introducing her to some more of the sports world.'

Ichiro Suzuki steals show with witty Hall of Fame speech in English
COOPERSTOWN — Ichiro Suzuki stole the show with his nearly 20-minute speech, delivered in English. Long known to those around him for speaking English well, Ichiro always chose to speak publicly in Japanese, using an interpreter. Now a Hall of Famer, Ichiro chose Sunday to break out a witty speech in front of a crowd of thousands of fans wearing his No. 51 Mariners jersey. 'It was good for people to get to know his personality and how hard he worked.' Ichiro, in addition to thanking the Mariners and their fans, as well as his Orix team in Japan that let him come to the majors in 2001, also fondly recalled his time with the Yankees from 2012-14. 'Because I got to ride in [to the ballpark] with Tom Glavine. They always had a great team surrounding me and that helped me reach this stage today.' Wagner noted that he and Whitey Ford are the only pitchers in the Hall of Fame who are shorter than 6 feet tall.
