Jax Taylor leaving The Valley

Perth Now17-07-2025
Jax Taylor is leaving The Valley.
The troubled reality star has confirmed he won't be part of the third season of the Bravo show following an "incredibly challenging" year, which saw him split from wife Brittany Cartwright - the mother of his four-year-old son Cruz - and subsequently check into rehab for mental health and addiction treatment.
He told Us Weekly magazine in a statement: 'After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley.
"Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.'
Season two of The Valley documented Jax and Brittany's breakout and the fallout.
Executive producer Alex Baskin previously told Variety: 'Our job is to tell the full story.
'If we didn't tell the story in its completeness, then we would be covering up something that really happened and denying Brittany the chance to share what she had been through. I don't think that's really 'platforming an abuser' as much as that is platforming the story — which includes Brittany's experience as well as Jax's.'
The season two reunion special was recorded in May and is due to air next week, while Alex previously admitted it was "very likely" the show would be different on its return for season three.
The producer noted "no one is guaranteed a job" and said: 'We're figuring out all of it. It's very likely the show does look different next season, but I don't know what different means.
'Many times before, we've had to make a change based on someone's behaviour. … We don't want to be in a situation where we are forcing together people who wouldn't spend the time together in real life. That can become taxing and difficult to watch.'
Jax previously admitted that he's been battling a cocaine addiction for more than 20 years.
He said on the Hot Mic podcast: "I have substance issues - primarily with cocaine. It's hard to say out loud. I've been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I'm 45.
"There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I'd go heavy on it.
"I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it's a really tough sickness."
Brittany subsequently claimed that she spent years trying to help Jax to "get better".
She said on the When Reality Hits podcast: "No one wants Jax to be better more than I do, let's be real.
"I tried and tried and tried for years to help this man get better and for us to be a happy family, I was deeply and madly in love with him, there's no one that can ever deny that."

Jessie James Decker admits to struggling with mom guilt

Jessie James Decker struggled with mom guilt while touring. The 37-year-old singer - who has Vivianne, 11, Eric Jr, nine, Forrest, seven, and Denver, 17 months, with her husband Eric Decker - has stepped back from touring in recent times in order to focus on her family life. Asked if she plans to tour again, Jessie said on Instagram: "One day. I've struggled with the emotions of it all lately because I love touring and singing. That's what I've done my whole life, people forget but that's how I got started in this business. But I struggled this last time leaving the babies that I knew I needed to take a beat." Jessie is determined to be present for key milestones in the lives of her children. The music star - who has been married to Eric since 2013 - said: "My kids need me. They're so little and I don't want to miss anything. I know the stage is always there for me when I'm ready again." Jessie previously revealed that she doesn't intend to have any more kids. The singer also admitted that she's still relishing the challenges of motherhood, even though she's "not sleeping very much". She told Us Weekly: "[Eric] is snipped, so if I were to get knocked up again, it's because of that two percent chance. "Denver's starting to walk, which is cool. We're obviously not sleeping very much, [but] it's amazing to be able to do it all over again. It's fun that the kids are older and getting to do this with us, watching their little baby brother grow up. Eric and I look at each other and we're like, 'How did we get here?' It's been really special for our family." Jessie also praised Eric for being a strong supportive influence in her life. The Wanted hitmaker shared: "He's so supportive. He thinks I'm pretty no matter what, even when I'm having a hard day or after I've had a baby [and] I'm not feeling like myself. I look for it in his face and he never flinches. He tells me I look pretty the way that I am."

Chrishell Stause and G Flip get married again

Chrishell Stause and G Flip have tied the knot again. The 44-year-old actress and the 31-year-old music star - who first wed in Las Vegas in 2023 - have tied the knot once again during a medieval-themed ceremony in Los Angeles. A copy of their wedding invitation, which has been shared on Instagram, read: "Medieval, Renaissance, Regal, and Festive attire encouraged. (sic)" The invite, which appeared on a faux scroll, also said: "By royal decree, we request the honor of your noble presence to witness the wedding ceremony of Lord Flipo and Lady Stause. (sic)" Chrishell wore an off-the-shoulder corseted gown for the ceremony, while G Flip donned a red tunic for the nuptials. Their guests were also seen sporting tunics and knight-like outfits for the wedding ceremony. The loved-up couple renewed their vows shortly after Chrishell opened up about their desire to have children. The former Selling Sunset star revealed in June that she was "back on the IVF hell train". She said on her Instagram Story: "Back on the IVF hell train. I think this may be my last attempt. There are other alternatives, but this route needed to be tried first bc of timing. So if it's meant to be it will be. If not, pivot [heart emoji] (sic)" Chrishell also thanked her followers for the support they've shown her throughout her IVF journey. She said in a separate post: "Live footage of me reading all the beautiful supportive messages on the last slide. THANK YOU [prayer emoji] (sic)" Chrishell split from Jason Oppenheim, her former Selling Sunset co-star, in 2021 because he didn't want to have children. But the reality TV star previously suggested that she was close to realising her long-held ambition of becoming a parent. Chrishell - who began starring on Selling Sunset, the hit Netflix series, back in 2019 - told Us Weekly: "We are feeling really positive about where we're at currently. And I will tell you this - nobody will be happier to report good news than me when it's that time. So, until then, I just really feel like everything happens for a reason."

Jax Taylor plans to 'prioritise his sobriety'

Jax Taylor has terminated his affiliation with his Los Angeles bar. The 46-year-old reality TV star - who has been open about his addiction struggles in recent months - has ended his affiliation with Jax's Studio City, following his recent exit from The Valley. A spokesperson for Jax told Us Weekly that he's made "a carefully considered and necessary step to prioritise his sobriety and mental health". The news was confirmed shortly after TMZ observed that Jax's name had been removed from the marquee signage at the Studio City bar. Jax - who spent time in rehab in 2024, amid struggles with addiction - announced that he was leaving The Valley earlier this month. The reality star explained at the time that he intended to focus his attention on his sobriety, mental health, and coparenting. Jax - who has Cruz, four, with his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright - told Us Weekly: "After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz." Despite this, Jax subsequently suggested that he could return to The Valley at some point in the future. The TV star - who has been married to Brittany since 2019 - explained that he was simply taking "a pause" from the show. He said on his In the Mind of Jax Taylor podcast: "Myself, my team [and] the producers got together [and] we decided to take a break from season three. This is not goodbye. This is kind of just a pause on things. The more I talked about it with everybody, it just didn't seem to make a lot of sense [to] me." Season two of The Valley explored Jax's acrimonious split from Brittany Cartwright and the reality star hopes to "heal" during his time off-screen. Jax said: "We get past a lot of stuff after filming and then we have to relive it again. You know when the show comes on, so that kind of never allows the wound to technically heal because now the scab keeps getting ripped open."
