Sky Glass announces "bolder" new improved TV, and you can buy it tomorrow

Yahoo12-02-2025

Sky has announced that two new Sky Glass TVs are on the way – and you'll be able to buy its "bolder" new upgrade of the flagship set from tomorrow.
Sky Glass Gen 2 launches on Wednesday (February 12) via Sky's online shop, its retail stores, over the phone and online via Currys. Stock will also arrive in Currys retail stores soon.
The company is promising its second-generation TV has "an even brighter picture and bolder sound" than its predecessor.
Later in the year, a second product called Sky Glass Air will launch, which the company is billing as "the smarter TV for less".
Explore Sky Glass packages
The Gen 2 set will be available in three screen sizes – 43", 55" and 65" – and customers can choose from grey, silver or blue colour schemes, all of which have matching-coloured speakers.
Pricing for Sky Glass Gen 2 plans will start from £14 per month for the TV set only, over 48 months. This matches the pricing of the first-generation TV on its own.
However, the final monthly cost depends on the type of TV you choose and the programming packages you buy with it.
For example, you could purchase a Sky Glass Gen 2 43"-inch set on a 48-month contract, with a 24-month subscription to Sky Essential TV, and that would cost you £29 per month.
Programming add-ons such as Sky Cinema or Sky Sports subscriptions cost extra.

Sky Glass Gen 2 runs Sky's own operating system, and it features an improved sound system with seven speakers instead of six, and Dolby Atmos capabilities built in.
Its screen has a 4K Quantum Dot display, plus enhancements to precision contrast and HDR capabilities which Sky says should offer improved picture quality and wider viewing angles when compared to the first-generation Glass TV.
The Sky Glass picture modes have also been refreshed, with bespoke settings for sports, movies and music programming among the options customers can choose from.
There's also an auto setting which selects the optimum picture mode for a particular programme.
The Sky Glass Gen 2 set has three HDMI ports, including eARC support if you do want to use your own soundbar with it. It also has Apple AirPlay 2.0 and WiFi 6 support.
The new design also features a stand that slots into the TV – and while Sky is selling its own telescopic wall mounts for an additional fee, the Gen 2 set will fit universal wall mounts, too.
Sky hasn't yet announced how much the Sky Glass Air TV sets will cost, only saying pricing will be confirmed "later this year" and that it will be cheaper than the Sky Glass Gen 2 set.
However, we do know some of the key features already. The Sky Glass Air TV will have a 4K Quantum Dot HDR screen and 2.0 stereo speakers with Dolby audio.

It also features "global dimming and contrast enhancement that automatically brightens the screen for a clearer, more vivid picture", according to Sky's announcement.
Sky Glass Air will also be available in three screen sizes – 43", 55" and 65" – and three colour options of grey, white and green. at Amazon at sky.com at at amazon.co.uk at at amazon.co.uk at digitalspy.com at amazon.co.uk at amazon.co.uk at Apple at digitalspy.com at disneyplus.com at disneyplus.com at amazon.co.uk at amazon.co.uk at amazon.co.uk at amazon.co.uk

Jessie J says she ‘needs a hug' after revealing early breast cancer diagnosis

Jessie J is doing away with the secrets — once and for all. The 37-year-old British singer took to Instagram on June 3 to reveal that she was diagnosed with early breast cancer prior to dropping her new song, 'No Secrets,' which was released on April 25. Her newest single, 'Living My Best Life,' was released three weeks later on May 16. In her announcement, Jessie J made sure to emphasize the term 'early.' 'Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding onto the word 'early,'' she said in the clip, adding that she's been 'in and out of tests' for the past few weeks and will be undergoing surgery soon. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), breast cancer treatments are 'more effective and are better tolerated when started early.' In an attempt to keep the announcement light, Jessie J joked that she is 'getting to keep (her) nipples' and described her upcoming surgery as a 'very dramatic way to get a boob job.' 'I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery,' she said of the music festival she's performing at on June 15. 'And I will come back with massive (breasts) and more music.' While she credits her sense of humor for helping her through hard times, she also opened up about the new perspective her diagnosis has given her. 'All jokes aside,' she wrote in the caption. 'This last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on along side it on the sideline's has given me the most incredible perspective.' 'BUT… Your girl needs a hug,' she added. While revealing her diagnosis, Jessie J admitted that she was hesitant about going public with the news. Ultimately, she decided to share it with her fans so they can hear it from her. 'I've always shared everything that I go through in my life,' she explained. 'I just wanted to be open and share it,' she continued. 'One, because selfishly I do not talk about it enough – I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard.' Jessie J goes on to describe herself as a 'sharer' and 'open book.' 'I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories,' she says in the video. She also highlighted the irony behind the timing of her two newest releases. 'To get diagnosed with this as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets,' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,'' Jessie J said in the video. 'I mean, you can't make it up.' She further clarified that the release of her two singles was 'pre-planned' before learning of the diagnosis. 'No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called 'Living my breast life'?' she joked in the caption of the post. The breast cancer diagnosis comes less than one year after the singer revealed that she was diagnosed with ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). It also comes several years after she suffered a miscarriage in 2021, per People. Jessie J is now the proud parent of her 2-year-old son, Sky, who she welcomed with boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman in 2023, per Today.

Jessie J Comes Clean About Scary Health Diagnosis That Will Make Her 'Disappear' From The Spotlight

is opening up about a private health battle that has been plaguing her. The British artist took to social media to share the news of a cancer diagnosis. The heartbreaking announcement comes two years after the "Price Tag" singer welcomed her first child, son Sky, with her partner, Chanan Colman. Jessie J, who is returning to the music scene after a four-year hiatus, informed fans of her plans to leave the public eye while she undergoes surgery. In an emotional Instagram video, Jessie announced to her fans that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. "I've been going back and forth a little bit on should I share it?" the singer candidly confessed. The 37-year-old admitted she was concerned about the "opinions" of others and was particularly worried that the media would "make this way bigger." However, pushing past her fears, she decided to speak up because she loves sharing her life with her fans. The United Kingdom native revealed that she got the news of the diagnosis in April 2025, shortly before the release of her comeback hit single, "No Secrets." "I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early.' Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding onto the word early," Jessie said in the clip. "I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period." She explained her decision to let the world in on her secret battle, admitting that she "selfishly" hadn't spoken about it enough. "I'm not processing it 'cause I'm working so hard," the mother-of-one confessed. However, Jessie understands the power of sharing her truth and how it has led to her receiving love and support when she needed it the most. She also believes her cancer story will help others speak about theirs. "It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That's the bit that kills me," she shared. Calling herself an "open book," the singer fought back tears as she declared that her cancer diagnosis wasn't something she "planned." She reflected on the journey so far and how it coincided with her music comeback, saying: "To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called No Secrets, right before a song called Living My Best Life, which was all pre-planned, before I found out about this. I mean, you can't make it up." Nevertheless, Jessie is soldiering on and focusing on defeating breast cancer. She informed fans of her plans to undergo surgery. "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job," she joked. Using humor to discuss the sensitive topic, "The Voice UK" judge called her surgery a "weird topic." She concluded the heart-melting video, confirming that she would retreat from the spotlight in the meantime. "I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t-ts and more music, she said. In the post's accompanying caption, the London native poked fun at her recent song titles, writing, "No (more) Secrets and is it too soon to do a remix called 'Living my breast life'?" Putting the jokes aside, she acknowledged that while her diagnosis gave her "the most incredible perspective," she "needs a hug." Although the songstress might not be able to receive hugs from her fans worldwide, many surrounded her with love and encouragement in the comments section. "Open book and open heart. We love you and support you always. Sending you the best energy for a speedy recovery, warrior," a caring fan penned. "You are the strongest person, Jess. Sending you so much love and light for your healthy healing," another comment read. "You have been so brave and strong and, as always, hit it with humour," a third fan wrote, praising the Critics' Choice winner. Moved by the outpouring of support, Jessie took to her Instagram Stories to appreciate her dedicated fan base. "You have loved me through all my good and hard times." Jessie J's heartbreaking health news comes less than a month after her performance at the BAFTA TV Awards 2025 made headlines. It marked her first performance on stage in six years, and fans were thrilled to see the singer perform "The Award Goes To." Although the powerful rendition received praises online, the singer didn't think it was her best performance. She admitted in a statement shared on social media that acid reflux affected her vocals. "My acid reflux about 2 hours before my performance on the BAFTAs tonight said, 'HELLO JESS,'" she wrote, per the Daily Mail. "People who know how that is (or singers), I'm sure, could see me struggling, but I threw the mic stand and pushed through."
