The first trailer for The Thursday Murder Club is finally here, with fans raving over the 'perfect' cast.
The upcoming murder mystery film, based on Richard Osman's best-selling novel of the same name, will be released on Netflix on August 28 – which is, unsurprisingly, a Thursday.
Fresh from their efforts on the gangster series MobLand, Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan will be teaming up again for the whodunnit, leading the A-list names on board alongside Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.
They star as retirees who spend their free time solving cold cases for the pure fun of it, but things take a murderous turn when they are thrown into a real crime on their doorstep.
Naomi Ackie, Richard E Grant, Tom Ellis, David Tennant and Daniel Mays make up the rest of the line-up.

After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, the first teaser was dropped today and began with a woman's body being thrown out of a window and landing with a knife in her chest.
Elizabeth (Helen), Ron (Pierce) and Ibrahim (Ben) showed off their crime-fighting prowess as they surrounded a board of evidence – when they were interrupted by a fellow retirement village resident questioning whether the room is 'normally reserved for jigsaws'.
'Welcome to Coopers Chase. We investigate cold cases,' Elizabeth cryptically warned, before introducing the team as the 'Thursday Murder Club'.
When the murder raised fears among locals, Joyce (Imrie) shared her delight over the thought of a new investigation to tackle, cheering: 'There's been a murder, an actual murder. Now we've got a real case to solve. Isn't it wonderful?
'Obviously RIP and all that.'
Chris Columbus, Home Alone director, helmed the movie, while Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote penned the screenplay.
While we have a few months to wait before the release, fans couldn't help but celebrate the first glimpse, raving about Dame Helen and co in starring roles.
Underneath the trailer on YouTube, Karenawoopa1 commented: 'The perfect cast, I am sooooo looking forward to seeing this film, love all the books, get ready to snuggle in and be totally enthralled [sic].'
Littlelion18 agreed: 'Eeeee!!! Helen Mirren is the perfect Elizabeth! I cannot wait [sic].'
Deborahprager330 penned: 'I've read all the books and they were brilliant I've just watched the trailer and it looks fabulous and exciting and with the perfect cast definitely a winner roll on 28th August.'
Over on Twitter, SirDennis raved: 'Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren got to be my new fave Bonnie and Clyde reincarnation. The Chemistry is just villain [flames]. First on Mobland and now this one.'
Austin Graham wrote: 'That cast is amazing, can't wait to see them solve mysteries together on August 28. Sounds fun!'
As Stephanie Hawkins added: 'Can't wait to see this star-studded cast in action! August 28 can't come soon enough.'
The official synopsis reads: 'Based on Richard Osman's international bestselling novel of the same name, The Thursday Murder Club follows four irrepressible retirees – Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce – who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun. More Trending

John questioned by police on Nate's murder in Emmerdale
In the wake of the discovery of Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) untimely Emmerdale death, accusations are flying, but it's John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who is sweating. Murderous John seemed to be high and dry after the dredging of the lake was called off, and with Aidan slipping back into his coma – the other person who could blow his cover – he smugly returned to the village to resume the new life he'd created for himself. But reality came back to bite him on the bum when they dredged the lake anyway and Nate's body was finally found. It's badly decomposed so it'll be harder for the police to gather much if any DNA, but there will be a thorough investigation regardless and John is not in the clear. Then his worst living nightmare comes true – the police show up to question him about the day Nate disappeared. Having got away with things for this long he plays it cool. But as it turns out, it's not him they're after – it's Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Now this does not a happy Cain make, and though the finger isn't pointing at John, John still needs to work hard to protect Cain from going down for a crime he didn't commit – especially in the wake of Tracy Shankley's (Amy Walsh) accusation towards him. Tracy later walks passed and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) can't resist giving her what for. Cain is left shaken and puts voice to a dark thought that he believes Tracy did away with her ex. Finger firmly pointed, Tracy feebly tries to defend herself, but John concocts a dreadful plan to take the heat off Cain. The police soon arrive at Tug Ghyll with a search warrant and make a massive discovery – Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse. Now the fear sets in for Tracy as she realises how bad things are starting to look – just wait until they find out she's been using his credit card too. But before they even get that far, they learn there is no record of the removal men who came to collect Nate's stuff – the ones that Tracy was the only one to interact with. Coronation Street confirms huge Lisa shock as Betsy star reacts
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video There's a tough week ahead for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street next week, as she faces Craig Tinker's memorial service – but there's more trouble on the cards. As she and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) admit how difficult the event will be, with Kit revealing that the family have asked him to make a speech, Carla Connor (Alison King) confides in Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) that she's worried about Lisa. In a bid to help Lisa take her mind off things, Carla comes up with a plan. As the day of Craig's memorial service arrives, Lisa apologises to Carla, before setting about distracting herself by going through some old files. However, when Betsy comes snooping and tries to take a peek at one of the files, Lisa snatches it from her, leaving the curious teen intrigued. Desperate to know what her mum was so keen to hide, Betsy confronts Lisa, who is quick to lie. She tells Betsy that the file contains information about Betsy's paternity, and that she can't see it until she turns 18. When Lisa arrives at the memorial service and notices Kit's absence, she is worried, but soon steps up in his place to deliver a moving speech for Craig. Meanwhile, Betsy clearly wants to know more about her mysterious findings, as Carla later returns home and catches her going through Lisa's files – but what exactly has she dug up? When Betsy shows a picture of the letter she's found to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she reveals that she intends to get to the bottom of it… When we caught up with actresses Cait and Sydney at the British Soap Awards, Cait shared her reaction to the twists in this story, saying: 'I was tired reading it!' 'There is a lot of drama coming up!' Sydney agreed, continuing: 'I'm intrigued for people to see it!' When Lisa asks Betsy to join her for lunch the next day, Betsy makes out that she's meeting Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who has recently been released from the STC. However, that proves to be a lie when she and Lauren enter the prison visiting room. As Betsy admits that she's a nervous wreck, is she set to make a deal with the devil? Meanwhile, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) drops her right in it when he lets slip to Lisa and Carla that Betsy ordered a cab to Highfield Prison. How will they react? As dramatic as this story is set to be, both Sydney Martin and Vicky Myers promised moments of light. 'I don't know how much we can say but there's some exciting stuff coming up,' Sydney promised. 'There's also some really sweet, important scenes in there. I can't go into detail, but I'm glad that they're airing.' More Trending Later in the evening, Vicky told us that 'there is a lot' still to come. 'There is a lot coming, but there's also periods of time that they're really happy, and there's periods of time when it's not going so well, but that's indicative of any relationship, isn't it? And any family life. View More » 'And living together in the small flat… Let's see how they navigate all of that!'
