This new NFL ranking of offensive linemen can make Patrick Mahomes' job easier; here's how

While
is one of the NFL's most talented quarterbacks, the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl loss was partially blamed on him. Mahomes faced relentless pressure from the opposing defense, which disrupted his usual rhythm; he missed a few key passes, including some deep shots that could have changed the game's momentum.

Quarterback Mahomes desperately needed the help of interior offensive linemen who could help by keeping the pocket clean and stable and allow him space to step up and make throws. But this season he could make the most of the offensive linemen because they are some of the best in the league! Sports platform ESPN recently placed two Chiefs offensive linemen, center Creed Humphrey and guard
, among the top four in the NFL!
Kansas City Chiefs offensive linemen Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith among the top 4 in the NFL
The ranking has been compiled by Jeremy Fowler and is actually based on input gathered from NFL coaches, scouts, and executives who participated via a survey.
'Last year, Humphrey made the case as the best overall center since Jason Kelce,' Fowler wrote on the platform's website. 'Now, he's the top interior linemen thanks to consistency in the voting. He's the only one to appear on every ballot and was a top-three recipient on the majority of them.'
He further added, 'That Kansas City franchise tagged Smith at $23.4 million says a lot about the quality of the player. The Chiefs are often salary cap-strapped and aren't afraid to let marquee free agents walk… but Smith is too unique to escape the Chiefs' facility.'
This further makes it obvious that Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith are vital to Patrick Mahomes' success on the field. As the center, Humphrey is the anchor of the offensive line and is the one who can make protection calls and read defensive alignments. His consistency can help Mahomes adjust plays quickly and stay protected from interior pressure, which has been a chink in his armour during the last Super Bowl.
Trey Smith, at right guard can help neutralize aggressive defensive tackles and blitzing linebackers. Together, Smith and Humphrey can create a clean pocket and actually lead Mahomes to deliver accurate throws, which can definitely bring him the team a lot more wins.

Russell Wilson and Ciara's viral legacy post ignites marvel buzz and signals Giants era

Russell Wilson and Ciara strike a legacy pose in NYC, repping their 3Brand line in style (Image via Getty) Russell Wilson and Ciara just lit up Instagram—and the New York skyline—with a jaw-dropping family photo that's got the internet talking. Standing in front of the Empire State Building, the couple posed with their four kids in coordinated 3Brand tracksuits, each piece stamped with confidence and purpose. But this wasn't just a sweet family snapshot. It was a carefully timed move blending fashion, football, and a bold new chapter in the Big Apple. A caption that sparked a cultural moment Wilson's post came with just four words: 'Building a Legacy @3brand.' Simple, sharp, and layered with meaning. The caption did more than promote the outfit—it told the world the Wilsons are here to build something far beyond the game. It spoke to generational ambition: from raising confident kids to launching a youth-driven brand that's already gaining Marvel-level attention. View this post on Instagram A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) Fans went wild for the look, with one viral comment reading, 'Win ate this whole post.' Clearly, the Wilson kids aren't just tagging along—they're part of the vision. And 3Brand, the brand tied to son Win and Russell's iconic number 3, is quickly turning into a cultural force. From Athleisure to the Avengers: @3Brand lands in Marvel's Ironheart What started as a kids' athleisure line has exploded into a full-blown cultural player. @3Brand gear recently made a surprise cameo in Marvel's Ironheart series, worn by the next-gen heroes of the MCU. That kind of screen time puts @3Brand on the map—and into the wardrobes of a younger, hype-driven audience. With Nike and Kidpik collabs under its belt, the brand is expanding from fashion into media and influence. Its core is still kid-forward and motivational—but now it's carrying cinematic weight. Russell and Ciara aren't just brand ambassadors. They're hands-on creators, and this Marvel moment proves they know how to position their legacy in front of the next generation. NYC Is no longer just a backdrop—It's the Wilsons' new empire Behind the Empire State photo lies an even bigger headline: Russell Wilson is now a New York Giant. In March 2025, he inked a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, officially bringing his talents—and family—to MetLife Stadium. According to Wilson, NYC felt like the right fit, especially with rising star Malik Nabers in the offense and a chance to return to the stadium where he once won a Super Bowl. As he told reporters, 'I came here because of him,' referring to Nabers' electric playmaking. Patrick Mahomes takes the top spot in the 2025 QB rankings

Patrick Mahomes takes the top spot in the 2025 QB rankings (Image Via X) Patrick Mahomes recently finished one of the most tricekts seasons of his life, at least by his own impossibly lofty standards. And still, when the dust finally settled and the NFL 's most-respected voices rendered their verdict, he's still the best. The No. 1 standard. In a league packed with rising stars, Mahomes's grip on the top spot might feel like a contradiction. He had fewer touchdowns, more interceptions, and was sacked more than ever before. But if we've learned anything from the past few seasons, it's that when it matters most, Mahomes wins. And that's why, despite a less-than-spectacular statistical year, the 29-year-old remains the NFL's most trusted and feared quarterback. How Patrick Mahomes' ranking was determined The rankings are derived from ESPN's offseason quarterback survey. — SleeperTBBUCS (@SleeperTBBUCS) It is the most highly regarded analysis in the NFL offseason. It's a survey of more than 70 league insiders, such as head coaches, general managers, coordinators, and scouts, that gets asked to rank the top 10 quarterbacks going into the next season. These are the same individuals responsible for constructing game plans and handling rosters, so their opinions have some weight. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo The top 10 list is an exclusive club, and this season, it demonstrated both a changing of the guard and the unshakeable faith in Mahomes's otherworldly skills. Mahomes' 2024 numbers may not be eye-popping on first glance. He passed for 3,928 yards, the smallest in any complete season of his career. He completed 26 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and was sacked a career-high 36 times. His 245.5 per-game average was not news-breaking, and there were more than a few dicey games during the regular season. But none of it mattered once the playoffs rolled around. The Kansas City Chiefs marched to their third straight Super Bowl in three years and fifth in seven, showing that Mahomes' greatness isn't measured by box scores, but by victories when they count. Approximately 60 percent of ESPN's survey voters awarded Mahomes the No. 1 vote. Mahomes might be standing alone at the top, but he is not under any pressure. The three quarterbacks ranked immediately below him in 2025 are all elite-calibre players and ready to threaten him. The chase pack is closing in with more athletes Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen captured the No. 2 ranking with a season full of big-play production and clutch play under duress. He accumulated more than 4,300 total yards and 40 scores, all while supporting a team that could not find other consistent playmakers to go along with him. Cincinnati's Joe Burrow , ranked third, spent much of 2024 battling injuries, but his reputation remains solid. League insiders still trust his elite accuracy, decision-making, and poise. One fact looms large: he's the only quarterback to have beaten Mahomes in a postseason game, back in the 2021 AFC title game. Baltimore Ravens two-time MVP Lamar Jackson completes the top four. Jackson quieted critics in 2024 with enhanced passing, explosive rushing, and a deep playoff run. His ongoing development as a passer makes him one of the most feared dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. Easily the most revealing narrative in the rankings this year is who isn't on the list. For the first time, Aaron Rodgers is not among the top 10. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer is on the outside looking in. It was surely a development that represents a dramatic generational shift in the position. Actually, Matthew Stafford is the lone quarterback in the top 10 over 30. That opens the door incredibly wide for up-and-comers like C.J. Stroud, Jordan Love, and Brock Purdy, each of whom broke the list and is quickly becoming a franchise pillar. This isn't Mahomes's league anymore. The next generation is arriving quickly, and they're not just pursuing stats. They're pursuing rings. Until someone brings him down, Mahomes sets the standard. Explained: What Is Flag Football & Why It Will Make Primetime Olympic Debut At LA28

Last Updated: Flag football will debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, featuring primetime medal games. Flag football is all set to take center stage during the 2018 Los Angeles Olympics, after organisers confirmed on Monday that the sport's medal games will be held in primetime slots in its first-ever Olympic appearance. LA 2028 will feature the debut of flag football and squash as optional sports, joined by the return of baseball, cricket and lacrosse. The International Federation of American Football, in partnership with the National Football League, has announced that the men's and women's medal matches are scheduled for Friday evening, July 21 and Saturday afternoon, July 22, at the BMO Stadium near downtown Los Angeles. The LA 2028 Olympics are scheduled to begin on July 14 and will come to a close on Sunday, July 30. What is Flag Football? It is a variant of American or Canadian football where, instead of tackling the players to the ground, the defensive side must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier to end a down. In flag football, contact is limited between the players. The sport has a strong amateur following with multiple national and international tournaments every year sponsored by various associations, but is most played in the USA, where it was invented in the 1940s. The first known recorded history of the sport can be traced to Fort Meade, a census-designated place in Anne Arundel County in Maryland, which is now accepted as flag football's birthplace. The first national organisation for the sport, the National Touch Football League, was formed in the 1960s in St. Louis, a major city in Missouri along the Mississippi River. How has flag football gained primetime access in the LA2028 roster? The announcement comes as senior IFAF and NFL delegations visit Los Angeles for the first official meetings with the Games organisers, marking three years to the day before the LA28 Opening Ceremony. The inclusion of flag football in LA28 follows a vote by NFL owners permitting NFL players to take part in the Olympic competition, which ensures that a large amount of fan following will focus on the sport. IFAF President Pierre Trochet said that the primetime scheduling was a clear statement of a shared ambition to ensure the sport contributes a 'defining element" of LA28's success. The IFAF delegation will meet with key LA28 organising committee members and attend the launch of a new NFL flag football brand campaign, which features Olympic gymnastics champion Jordan Chiles and flag football athletes from Australia and the USA. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
