Kelly Clarkson ‘putting her children first as she grieves over death of ex-husband Brandon Blackstock'

Kelly Clarkson is said to be putting her children first as she grieves over the death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The singer, 43, and Brandon, 48, were married for seven years before divorcing in 2022 and despite their split, Kelly prioritised his relationship with their two children, River Rose, 11, and Remington, nine, rearranging her schedule to allow them frequent visits during his illness. A source has now told UsWeekly about how she is dealing wit the fallout from his death from cancer: 'It has been draining, exhausting, emotional (and) devastating. '(But) her children have always come first. 'A big part of (her care for Brandon) was making her schedule available for transporting the children to visit Brandon.' Brandon, a former music manager turned full-time rancher living in Montana, died peacefully surrounded by family on 7 August, after more than three years fighting cancer. The source also told UsWeekly Kelly's recent hiatus from her The Kelly Clarkson Show and postponement of her Las Vegas residency concerts was driven by her commitment to care for Brandon and their children. They added: 'Kelly is a workhorse. Hard work is all she knows. She hates disappointing people, truly. The thing that kept her going was knowing how many people depend on her, like her crews and employees.' Kelly's NBC show is expected to return this autumn, sources told TMZ. Clarkson has found support among family and friends during her difficult time but is said to be remaining the central figure for her children, the source added to UsWeekly. They said: 'She has family and friends, but at the end of the day, it's all on her,' Brandon is survived by his parents, three siblings, four children – including Savannah, his now-pregnant daughter from a previous marriage who is expecting her second child – and grandchildren. What is thought to be the final photo of Brandon, posted on Savannah's Facebook, showed him smiling alongside her. A family spokesperson said in a statement about his passing: 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. 'We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.'

NBA all-star goes viral after struggling to use a can opener for an hour on Instagram Live

There aren't many people in the world who can do on the basketball court what Tyrese Maxey can do. Prowess in the kitchen, however, is a completely different story. In fact, if you can use a can opener, you have the Philadelphia 76ers star beat. And, while many people probably would keep their struggle with a simple kitchen tool to themselves or use a search engine for a quick answer, Maxey showed that he has no problem asking for help from his followers. In fact, the Sixers star went on Instagram Live for an hour asking for help to use his can opener, explaining he was trying to feed his dogs. 'I don't even get on (IG) Live, but I need your help. I need to feed my dogs. Normally (my) chef helps me use the can opener for my dogs. Tell me what I need to do,' he said Monday night. 'Somebody on here, help me out. Show me how to work this thing.' Maxey then tried using the bottom of the can opener on the top of the can, twisting the handle to no avail. The 2023-24 NBA most improved player shared that his mother, his girlfriend and his personal chef all weren't around, adding he didn't know how to use the item because he 'spent all (his) life working out.' ''Dude doesn't know how to use a can opener?' No, I don't. Sorry,' he said after reading on of the stream's comments. 'I spent all my life working out … Everybody over here trying to laugh, I'm being so serious. Everybody's gone. '(Girlfriend) Myra's gone, chef's gone, my mom's not here. I'm trying to open this can.' Maxey continued to struggle with the can opener and even tried flipping the can upside down at one point. He also posted on X that he had been 'in the lab' since May 13 and was hoping to enjoy a couple of days off. Many followers pointed out that a fire alarm in Maxey's kitchen had been chirping, to which he said he would try to fix that as well. 'I'll be back on around 9:30 to fix the smoke alarm and play video games for the first time in like 5 years,' he posted. The story did have a happy ending, with Maxey finally succeeding in his mission to get the can open. He, however, blamed the can opener and said he had to find a newer one to get things moving. 'I figured it out,' he said. 'That one was old. This one is new. 'It wasn't me. Y'all tried to make it sound like I was the problem. I was not the problem. Whatever.' During a recent episode of Deadline's Crew Call podcast, Wednesday showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed they're working on a new, animated Addams Family movie unrelated to either Wednesday or the 2019 and 2021 films. We're working on it with Amazon MGM and with Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation, he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame, and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. We're rebooting the animated film franchise. So it won't have anything to do with the two films before it, nor is it connected with this show. It will be a brand new Addams feature. There's not really much we can say about it, because it's in the very early stages. Speaking with Den of Geek, Jeffrey Wright said he has yet to read the script for The Batman, Part II, but has 'heard some things' and 'respects [Matt] Reeves' Gotham-building skills.' I haven't read it yet, no. But I've heard some things. I'm liking what I'm hearing. And I have huge respect for Matt's Gotham-building skills. So I'm excited to jump in there and read what he has, which I'm sure will be rich and satisfying to play, and ideally for audiences to take in as well.
