Inside British Soap Awards afterparty - bleary-eyed stars smoking and bomb scare
Stars of the nation's favourite soaps were papped looking bleary-eyed as they left the British Soap Awards in London last night. The glitzy event, which was held at Hackney Town Hall, celebrated the creative cast from a whole host of shows, including EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
After the ceremony in which EastEnders waltzed away with an impressive eight gongs, beating Emmerdale, Corrie and Hollyoaks to take home Best British Soap, a slew of excitable stars let their hair down at the afterparty. Jaime Winstone, Patsy Palmer and Tina O'Brien were among those snapped at the bash, which went on until the early hours.
Award-winning actor Ray Winstone's daughter, Jaime, was seen puffing on a cigarette, sporting a thigh-high white a gold dress as she left the venue with Bianca Jackson star, Patsy Palmer.
Patsy looked stunning in a blue silk blazer and matching trousers, which set off her red hair a treat as she grinned after watching EastEnders clean up at the awards.
Also representing EastEnders was Jack Branning star, Scott Maslen. He was also seen puffing on a cigarette, wearing a tux and holding a bottle of beer, as he celebrated the success of Albert Square.
The actor was joined at the knees-up by fellow Walford wonders, Anita Dobson, who played the iconic Angie Watts, and Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt.
Meanwhile, representing Coronation Street, actress Tina O'Brien was seen making an exit from the after party in the early hours. She looked stunning in a floor-length nude coloured dress with gold sequins, clutching a baby pink bag as she made her way to her hotel in the capital.
Also at the bash on behalf of Corrie, was actor Jack P Shepherd and Mollie Gallagher, who looked quite content chomping on a burger in the street, wearing a gorgeous powder blue dress with tuille detail and a cute black hair bow.
Despite letting their hair down at the glamourous bash, the night allegedly ended abruptly for the soap stars after they were suddenly asked to leave the venue shortly before 1am after the event had reportedly received a bomb threat.
Speaking to the Mirror, our source said: "We all got evacuated just before 1am. No reason was given at first and security came round and told us we had to leave immediately.
"As we all waited in the street outside, security told us there had been a bomb threat. We weren't allowed back in the building so people started making their way home."
In a video shared with us, some of TV's biggest soap stars can be seen waiting outside the venue as more evacuate - with the likes of ' and former star Emmett J Scanlan among them.
A show source also told The Mirror: "Owing to a security alert after the recording of the awards, it was necessary to evacuate the after party venue. Everyone was cleared from the building safely."
The Metropolitan Police also told us: "At 00:49hrs on Sunday, 1 June, police were called to Hackney Town Centre after a threat was made to the premises. The call was determined to be a hoax and nothing suspicious was located."

Despite the reported drama after the ceremony, the awards were a real celebration of the best the soap world has to offer.
EastEnders was honoured with a total of eight awards- including Best Dramatic Performance for Steve McFadden and Best Single Episode for Phil Mitchell's psychosis.
Meanwhile, Hollyoaks won three gongs, Emmerdale took home two and Coronation Street left with one - the Outstanding Achievement Award to David Neilson, who has played Roy Cropper for 30 years.

‘Danny Dyer running about naked doesn't even touch Mr Bigstuff season 2's chaos'

The offbeat comedy about two chalk and cheese brothers – the trauma-ridden lad Lee (Danny Dyer) and the by-the-book Glenn – is back after an astounding first run. The storied layers of how this comedy-drama came to be seems almost prophetic – Ryan Sampson moulding a character in the vision of Danny, Danny's tenure on EastEnders coming to an end, the stars aligning. Add Big Boys star Harriet Webb, as the ambitious (if not downtrodden) Kristy, to the mix, and you are onto a surefire winner. So, when the Rivals star scooped up the Bafta for best actor in a comedy, it was a victory in more ways than one – proof of Danny's star quality post-soap opera and a testament that Ryan had created a show that could capture both a devoted fan base and critical acclaim. Not that he had any doubt after seeing the magic Harriet and Danny concocted in the flesh, as he told Metro ahead of Mr Bigstuff season two. 'It's absolutely mad, honestly, and I was sat there at the Baftas and Danny did this lovely shout out, and I was like, 'What is this?' 'The first read through. You hear these two [Danny and Harriet] doing it and putting their own spin on it. And I was like, 'oh, that's quite good. That's quite sexy.' And then you see bits of it as we're shooting it, you're like, 'oh, it really does work'. I'm just so chuffed. I'm really glad,' Ryan said about the Bafta win. Season one of Mr Bigstuff introduced the gruff, drug-fuelled Lee, on the run from a dangerous path and forever living in his dead father's shadow. When he is unexpectedly reunited with the endearingly dweebie Glenn, his brother, their lives are turned upside down, ending in an epic season one cliffhanger – the dad is, in fact, very much not dead. The bar has been set high, with the grimy humour and outrageous scenes in season one and yet season two easily surpasses it with even more mental moments. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In the first episode, as seen in the trailer, Lee ends up disrobing and chasing some hooligans down the street – a scene that somehow has a more chaotic story behind-the-camera. 'Chaos was when we did the naked chase bit. We had to do it in real life. Danny has to run down this actual suburban street with real people in it, and he's almost completely naked, and it was on Halloween,' Ryan recalled. 'So as he was running down the street, there were little kids literally around the corner. And the producer was like 'you need to go now. You need to do it now. There are small children dressed as Tinkerbell'.' And yet, this only scrapes the surface of the absurdity to come. For Danny, his most chaotic moment on set was the day a bunch of retired stuntmen shot a scene set in a working man's club that soon descends into violence. 'We only had one day to get that. We called on all of the old retired stuntmen that were still alive, and they were so happy to be doing [it]. 'You know the old stuntmen that haven't got all their fingers because they've been around since the 60s and there was no health and safety and stuff. They made me look good. In fact, as Ryan revealed, one of them was Roger Moore's James Bond stuntman. 'Yeah he was like 80 and getting thrown around, bowling over tables and you go 'wow this is an art',' Danny added. Meanwhile, the storylines lean right into the bonkers tone of the show, not least Kristy's journey to dominatrix in a bid to spice up her sex life with Glenn. Harriet shared: 'I was really excited about some of the more playful dominatrix [scenes]. I was very excited for Kirsty, weirdly, to explore that and to have those more outrageous scenes. 'Also some of the more emotional stuff, delving into her relationship with her mum, and that really coming to a head throughout season two, was a really cool thing as an actor to be able to do.' To whet the appetite, Ryan teased an 'impressive' moment from episode five that Harriet executes that is 'amazing to watch'. Meanwhile, Glenn and Lee are thrust into a paternal wild goose chase that takes them to some 'really weird places'. Danny added: 'Obviously, Lee's not dealing with it very well with the trauma of his dad. Lee loves his dad and looks up to him, and it was Glenn who wasn't as fussed. 'The idea of [his dad] lying, Lee [has taken] it badly, so he needs to get his mojo back and then go on a crusade to go and find him that takes some nutty little twists.' Unlike their dad, the vibrant world Ryan has created, revolving around these two brothers who form the most unlikely bond, is showing no signs of disappearing. In fact, Ryan has already teased the multi-season vision he has for the show, provided the audience stays. 'I know sort of where we're going so we've got a few series to get to the actual peak. I want to do a slightly weird thing, which is that I want it to be a comedy which ends up with [more] drama than is normal [in a show like this]. More Trending 'We have really good actors so long as it feels real and we go really slowly, I think we can [do it].' Although in an industry increasingly defined by audience numbers, Danny provides some sage advice for Mr Bigstuff fans if they want to see this larger-than-life plot come to fruition. 'Watch it, download it, gorge on it. The whole series in less than Lord of the Rings so get amongst it and you can get another series out of it,' he declared. Corrie confirms what Carla is up to in ITVX release - and it's unexpected
This article contains spoilers for tonight's Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Carla Connor (Alison King) has been concerned about girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in recent Coronation Street scenes, and tonight's episode revealed exactly what she planned to do about it. Lisa has been struggling since the death of colleague Craig Tinker brought back painful memories of wife Becky's murder, which have affected her ability to do her job. After making a mistake at work, which resulted in Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) suffering a seizure while in custody, Lisa was relegated to desk duty and ordered to attend a course of therapy sessions. Unfortunately, she didn't react well to the mention of Becky during her first session, and has since been tormented by the unanswered questions she has about the events surrounding her death. Last week, Lisa shared her fears with Carla about the allegations that Becky was a corrupt cop, as she worried that she didn't really know her wife at all. In tonight's episode, when Lisa confessed to Carla that she was concerned that she may never be able to return to active duty, Carla decided to do whatever she could to help Lisa get her life back on track. When Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) borrowed Carla's laptop, he stumbled upon a request for a visiting order that she had written to Logan Radcliffe. Logan has been in prison since the murder of his younger brother Mason, but his brother Matty also previously alluded to them both being involved in Becky's murder. Michael was horrified by the request, and quickly confronted Carla, reminding her that Logan had previously attacked her and left her with serious health issues . However, Carla was determined to help Lisa, and explained to Michael that she wanted her girlfriend to be able to move on with her life, and if that meant getting answers from Logan, then so be it. EastEnders' Sharon ‘to the rescue' as prison looms for major characters
EastEnders fans may not have seen Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) for a good few months now, but she comes to The Six's rescue this week. In forthcoming scenes on the BBC soap, Sharon's half-sister Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) comes dangerously close to landing the murderous Walford women in prison when she considers telling the police about Bernie Taylor's (Clair Norris) recent shenanigans. Before she departed Albert Square earlier this month, Bernie had been stealing money out of the Panesars' businesses as revenge for The Six killing her brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). When Vicki was roped in to audit the Panesars' accounts, she uncovered Bernie's fraudulent activities and blackmailed her, wanting a cut of some of the cash to repay a loan to Sharon. However, Bernie eventually turned the tables on her, and told the Panesars it was Vicki who had been stealing from them. While Bernie's lies were eventually exposed to Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), she let Bernie off the hook and escape to Spain with the cash after pleas from Keanu's killer Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and fellow members of The Six Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to set Bernie free. Still in the dark about the real reasons Bernie set her up, this week Vicki is still smarting, while still scrambling to raise the cash to pay Sharon back. When Kathy gets wind of Vicki's plan to go to the police about Bernie, she makes a panicked call to Sharon, who is still in Australia, asking her to intervene. She suggests Sharon should walk back her threat to chuck Vicki out of No. 43 if she doesn't repay her debts in the hope it will stop Vicki from feeling the pressure, and thus the need to go to the police about Bernie… Sharon was last seen on the day of Martin Fowler's (James Bye) funeral back in April. Just shortly after Vicki's arrival in Walford, Sharon set off to Australia to look after Vicki's mum and her longtime best friend Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully), who was struggling to come to terms with the loss of her brother Martin.
