Rihanna Just Changed Her Instagram Pic For The Second Time In A Decade – And Now It's Even More Iconic
For years, Rihanna's Instagram page was synonymous with three things: being one of the most-followed accounts on the whole app, her fabulous @BadGalRiRi username and, of course, her epic profile pic.
Despite being one of the most-photographed people on the planet, Rih spent the best part of a decade with a doodle of herself (which became known to fans as 'Rhenna', a nod to the YouTube series The Nekci Menij Show) representing herself on Instagram.
Sadly, that all changed last year, when the makeup CEO and occasional popstar made the decision to swap out her signature display picture for – you guessed it – a photo of a Fenty Beauty product.

Well, on Thursday morning, a new version of the 'Rhenna' doodle returned to Rihanna's Insta – with a couple of notable tweaks.
You see, Rihanna is currently gearing up for the first trailer for her new Smurfs movie, in which she will voice the iconic character Smurfette, and teased earlier this week that she was in her 'blue era' as she gears up for its release.

And this apparently extends to 'Rhenna' too.
In a bid to drum up fans' excitement for The Smurfs movie, Rihanna reinstated her original DP, albeit with a Smurfette-esque makeover.

Now, we know what you might be thinking – 'she's got time to voice Smurfette, but hasn't got time for new music?'.
Well, that's where you're wrong, as it as previously reported back in 2023 that the Pon De Replay singer will not only produce and act in The Smurfs, but also write and record new music for its soundtrack.
So, basically, get ready to become a Smurfs stan in the name of new Rihanna music.
Rihanna's last musical output was the Grammy and Oscar-nominated single Lift Me Up, taken from the soundtrack to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, back in 2022.
As well as Rihanna, it will feature voice performances from the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, Natasha Lyonne, James Corden, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris and Nick Offerman.
The Smurfs last appeared on the big screen over a decade ago, when Rihanna's friend Katy Perry lent her voice to Smurfette.
You can watch the trailer for the new movie below.

Stephen A. Smith was so busted playing solitaire during NBA Finals
Oh no, Stephen A. Smith. This is probably not what you what fans to be focusing on during a terrific 2025 NBA Finals now that the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers are all tied up. The ESPN personality and maybe future presidential candidate was at Game 4 of the series at Indiana's Gainbridge Fieldhouse to cover the contest, but fans on social media caught him on his phone while the game was going on. And to top it all off, it appears that he was playing the classic Solitaire game to pass the time. Advertisement Smith ended up responding to all the attention with a joke ... or maybe he was trying to point out that he was playing Solitaire while watching the game on his phone. But either way, there was a lot of attention paid to Smith not watching the game he was at. Let's run through these posts on X (formerly Twitter): It started with someone posting the photo of Smith playing Solitaire on his phone "How can you have all of these opinions while you're playing solitaire instead of watching the game @stephenasmith?" Smith then claimed he was playing during a timeout "Yep! That's me. Who would've thought….I can multi-task. Especially during TIMEOUTS! Hope y'all are enjoying the NBA Finals. This is going 7 games now, peeps! A video appeared to show he was playing during game action, though Smith then sent what appears to be a screenshot Kevin Durant seemed to make fun of Stephen A. EastEnders fans concerned BBC soap star has 'quit' after 6 years as character
Over the last few weeks, there have been recent EastEnders exits confirmed including Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier). Among them is also Bernadette 'Bernie' Taylor (Clair Norris) who will also be leaving Albert Square after eight years. But now some fans are concerned another has quietly 'quit', after first joining the BBC soap six years ago. In 2019, Lexi Pearce, who is the daughter of the late Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) returned to EastEnders and has since been played by Isabella Brown. The young actress took over from Dotti-Beau Cotterill, who played the character between 2012 and 2015. However, viewers have recently noticed Lexi's absence in recent months, with some saying they haven't seen her since EastEnders' 40th anniversary earlier in the year and fear she has 'left' the programme. It comes as someone wrote on Reddit: 'Anyone know what's happening with Lexi? She hasn't been seen since the 40th anniversairy and was rather absent prior to that too. 'Lexi is 13 next month. The same age as Lily was when she gave birth.' They added: 'With only 9 appearances this year I wouldn't be shocked to see her return with a new head.' One person replied: 'She was last seen on March after Phil's special episode if I remember correctly. I assume we'll be seeing more of her later in the year. Her and Lola's birthdays are coming up in July so it'd be nice if the show adressed it.' Another commented that they hope EastEnders has 'something planned for later in the year' as 'it's a shame she was absent for Phil's recent storyline'. Meanwhile, others have said they think Lexi could be 'recast', according to the post on the subreddit r/eastenders. As this profile wrote: 'Looks wise the actress reminds me a lot of the old Amy Mitchell so I wonder if they'll recast her soon to someone more older/ older looking.' A second Reddit account put: 'I hope she doesn't get recast. She's a great actress and it's nice to see a realistic looking teenager. Most of the teens are played by adults and even the likes of Lily who is only 16 irl I feel always looked a bit older (which obviously isn't her fault, some teens do look older which is realistic but not literally all of them.)' But a few fans joined in to say: 'Not every character has to be on screen all the time. It's one of the perks of having an ensemble cast.' Blink and you'll miss it! #EastEnders, 7:30pm, Monday 16th June on @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer. — BBC EastEnders (@bbceastenders) June 14, 2025 In agreement, a user added: 'The other child actors and actresses have big breaks too. Lily just left for a while Hope and Arthur have spent time of screen as have Kat and Alfies two twins spend time off Screen Ricky has loads of time off screen.' However, back in December last year, Isabella's agent (EJC Management) confirmed that she would continue to play Lexi "throughout 2025". An Instagram post previously said: "So very proud of this young lady! "Our incredible ISABELLA BROWN will continue to play the brilliant Lexi Pearce throughout 2025 in @bbceastenders. Her dedication, drive, professionalism and work ethic is so inspiring from someone so young. "She has had some amazing storylines and we can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for Lexi!" Iconic Los Angeles-based Chinese restaurant and celebrity hangout closing after 42 years
If you've ever visited Los Angeles, chances are good that you spent some time on Sunset Boulevard, the historic Los Angeles street that spans practically the entire length of the city, from the Pacific Ocean to downtown. If you haven't visited L.A., you'll still recognize a particular section of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, called the Sunset Strip. It's been a scene-stealer in probably 100 movies and is known for its massive billboards. The Strip has always been one of Los Angeles's most dynamic neighborhoods. A blend of luxury hotels, boutique shopping, nightlife, and celebrity appeal, the Sunset Strip has long been a cultural bellwether. What's hot here often sets the tone for greater L.A. For decades, restaurants and bars along this glitzy corridor have attracted tourists and locals alike. But lately, the Sunset Strip has become a cautionary tale about the challenges facing the hospitality industry, especially for independent and legacy restaurants. Changing tastes, rising rents, and post-pandemic behavior shifts have forced many once-thriving spots to close. And one of the Strip's most recognizable dining landmarks is the latest to join the list. Image source: TheChin Chin is closing on Sunset Blvd. after more than 40 years Chin Chin, the upscale Chinese fusion restaurant chain that helped define casual fine dining in L.A. during the 1980s and 1990s, will permanently close its flagship West Hollywood location on July 27, 2025. The announcement came via the restaurant's Instagram on May 31 and caught longtime fans by surprise, as reported in Eater. "After 45 unforgettable years in West Hollywood, we are heartbroken to announce that Chin Chin will be unexpectedly closing its doors at our Sunset Plaza location…" the post read. Related: One of Texas's oldest BBQ joints is closing permanently after 34 years Known for its Chinese chicken salad, potstickers, and California-style dim sum, Chin Chin opened in 1983 and quickly became a favorite among locals, UCLA students and A-list celebrities. Regulars over the years included Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Megan Fox, and Sean Hayes, helping to elevate the brand beyond its menu and into L.A. lore. Earlier in 2025, restaurants including the Den, Hudson House, Le Petit Four, and Rock & Reilly's abruptly shut down. French bistro Tesse closed in late 2024 after a six-year run, adding to the growing list of local casualties. A trend that's hitting legacy L.A. restaurants hard Chin Chin's closure may be the latest, but the closures on Sunset Blvd. collectively speak to larger industry trends. Independent restaurants, particularly those in high-rent, high-profile areas like the Sunset Strip, have been hit hard by rising labor costs, inflation, and shifting consumer preferences. Diners are increasingly looking for experiential, often tech-enabled dining or lower-cost convenience, putting pressure on traditional full-service spots. At the same time, landlords in trendy neighborhoods often favor new concepts that bring media buzz and high-volume traffic. That churn can push out older businesses, even those with strong customer loyalty and decades of history. Related: Beloved local family diner closing after nearly 40 years Still, it's not as if the Strip is dying. A major new food hall, Round 1 Delicious, is set to open with eight high-end Japanese restaurants under one roof. Michelin-starred chef Aitor Zabala also plans to reopen his acclaimed tasting-menu restaurant, Somni, just a few blocks away. These moves signal that while some businesses are being priced out or aged out, the area continues to attract bold new investment. As for Chin Chin, the outpouring of support online suggests the brand still has cultural cachet and plenty of customer demand. The restaurant launched a GoFundMe campaign to support staff and perhaps fund a future relocation. Chin Chin's other locations in Brentwood, Studio City, and Las Vegas will remain open, so you can still get your hands on the best Chinese chicken salad around.
